Deathcurrent says...

Aysel pretended to go one way and then went the other and shot past the fireman; who was now yelling for her to come back. Hell no! I’m going to help. Then she ran as quick as her legs would allow in the tight jeans through the broiling halls crowded with flames. She found Acelynn where she’d thought she’d find her: in the old library connected to the school. Sweat trickled down Aysel’s face as she spotted Acelynn face down on the burning floor that was gradually getting more unstable, in preparation of giving way. Aysel had to act as quickly as possible so that she could get Acelynn off that ash covered floor, before another disaster befell her. Aysel shook Acelynn franticly, which helped her regain consciousness.
Acelynn stood on wobbly legs but she was standing in her sparkly high-heels of death should she fall.
“We have to get out of here!” Aysel shouted.
“Okay! One question what’s happening!?” Acelynn said in a frightened, confused voice. Only Acelynn would have to ask that question, Aysel thought numbly. Taking note of the blood that trickled from Acelynn’s brow. Aysel grabbed Acelynn’s arm and started to drag her out of the library.
“The library is on fire!” No duh, “We have to go. NOW!”
They made it out and Acelynn was snatched away from Aysel once they arrived outside of the smoking building. Aysel was pushed aside as firemen moved in with hoses to douse the fire, and to keep it from spreading. As the techs on hand examined Acelynn, Aysel took sips of the water she’d been given with instructions to finish it.
“Miss, we’re going to have to take you to the hospital.” Aysel overheard one of the techs saying to Acelynn.
“All ri-right.” Acelynn stuttered.
“Wait you can’t take her! She’ll be fine. Just fine! I can tend to her.” Aysel shouted as she moved toward the techs.
“Miss, we must take her to the hospital.”
“Why!?” Aysel exclaimed. Furious at her inability to take care of Acelynn. I’m so stupid! I can’t keep a dead person breathing if I don’t do the ritual for her!
The techs explained to Aysel that while Acelynn had been lying on the floor, she’d inhaled toxic chemicals and ashes from the floor of the old library. Apparently there’d been chemicals that had seeped into the wood that had become active from the heat of the fire. Acelynn was taken to the ambulance and was pumped up with oxygen like a balloon. Aysel’s fear doubled. Not good, she thought.
“Wait! Give her back to me! I can help her!” Aysel tried once more to pull Acelynn away from the medical technicians.
The fireman that had been blocking Aysel’s way earlier turned toward her. “Miss, let us handle this. It’s our job and we can help her better then you can.” He said, his voiced muffled because of his mask.
“But...but... she is my responsibility and I can help her.”
“You’re hysterical. If you wish you may ride to the hospital with her, but either way she is going.”
“But I-” He cocked an eyebrow, but said nothing as he finished loading the once again unconscious Acelynn. Aysel watched, debating on going. She hopped in to the back with the techs. As soon as the doors were slammed shut, they turned on the siren and drove off. Starting the insane drive to Scared Heart Hospital.
Aysel hoped that she could get to Acelynn first in the morning before the hospital staff did. The medications that they’d but Acelynn on would hurt her. The more that Acelynn had, the more pain she’d be in. If Aysel could heal her with the ritual, and prevent more of the drugs from being pumped into Acelynn, she’d be okay. Aysel couldn’t let Acelynn be hurt any more... or worse, let her get killed by this. She promised and she didn’t want to feel as if she’d let her parents down. Aysel remained lost in thought as the driver swerved through traffic to get to the hospital.

Chapter 2 Part One

“Acelynn? Acelynn? Are you ok? You’re in the Sacred Heart Hospital because you inhaled some chemicals and ashes while you were lying on the musty library floor.” Aysel watched as Acelynn pondered her words. It was fortunate that Aysel could read Acelynn’s face so easily. Acelynn looked as if a one ton boulder had landed centimeters from where she’d stood.
Acelynn’s emerald eyes widened in panic and fear. Her face said it all, and Aysel held up a hand to keep her from speaking. Then Aysel sighed and explained to
Acelynn everything that had happened and that she couldn’t talk. Aysel told Acelynn that in the morning she would preform the ritual, if she could, that would make her well.
Acelynn rolled her eyes and looked exasperated. Aysel could almost hear that valley-girl voice saying that it was childish and she shouldn’t even do anything because it was “like, fake”. To let the doctors do their job and to stay out of their way. Then Dr.Nelson came in. Bringing the smell of antiseptic with him. His white lab coat swishing to a stop.
“Miss Erimentha, you need to leave. Visiting hours are over. If you wish for Miss Zephyr to recover, than she needs to rest.”
Leaving was the last thing Aysel wanted to do, and she didn’t budge from where she sat. Sure, if Aysel left she’d get out of the stark white halls of the hospital. Where antiseptic and the smell of the sick was a second skin to the building, but... she couldn’t leave Acelynn. “I’m not leaving. I’ll sleep on the floor or in this chair, but I’m not leaving this room.” Aysel settled herself in the dull orange plastic chair to make her point.
Dr.Nelson stuck his head out of the room and called for the two male nurses who were waiting in the hall to escort her out. They arranged themselves so that they were on either side of her. Each nurse grabbed her under arms and started to forcibly remove her from the room. Lifting her from her chair.
“No! She needs me. Please don’t make me leave, I want to make sure she is safe. Acelynn needs me here to comfort her. Acelynn, please don’t allow them take me away!” Aysel yelled over her shoulder, her hair falling out of its braid, all the while struggling in the male nurses’ grasps.
Aysel dug her heels in to the floor, hoping to slow them down. When that didn’t work she looked pleadingly at Acelynn. Acelynn looked away from her, not meeting her eyes. Aysel gasped, how could she not help me after all that I’ve done for her? Bitch! Shocked at her own thoughts, Aysel stopped struggling and turned her attention to Dr.Nelson.
“Dr.Nelson, please let me stay. I wont cause any trouble.” Aysel turned her sky blue eyes on him, making them as guileless as possible.
“Well,” Dr.Nelson said tapping his pen against his chin, “I guess we can make an exception, but just this once.” He said, giving Aysel a warning look. “If you cause trouble, you’ll be thrown out. Understand?”
“Yes, I understand. Thank you! Thank you so much. You won’t regret it.” Aysel slid from the nurses’ grip and sat back down. Acelynn glared at her, the emerald green of her eyes giving off sparks. Why don’t you just give up on all of this? On all of the magic? They seemed to say.
Because I am that magic. I live in that world, and I wont break my promise to do everything in my power to keep you safe. Aysel thought, but she didn’t know if her eyes conveyed the message as Acelynn closed her eyes. Soon Acelynn was in a comatose like slumber once more. Aysel grasped her hand, no matter what Ace, I have to try. I promised both of our parents. Even if you hate me. I have to try. I have to… I have… I… Aysel fell asleep, her head slumping forward to rest on her chest.
