Is this a short story site (and poems and stuff); can you post books?
What's the sort of stuff people write here? I don't know, so I'll just leave it at this, being me.

Yep! If you go to the Discover Works board, you can see subforums called "novels" under each short story forum. Post chapters of your novel there, and use the Novels feature to group all parts of the story together. :D

Also, just a reminder, don't post more than 1,000 to 2,000 words at a time (between 3 and 5 pages). It's really intimidating to see a huge wall of text with a small scrollbar. ^^

If your book is finished, post it as an attachment in the advanced critiques forum. But be warned, works there take awhile to be reviewed.
A writer is a world trapped in a person— Victor Hugo

Ink is blood. Paper is bandages. The wounded press books to their heart to know they're not alone.

Why should Caesar just get to stomp around like a giant while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? Brutus is just as cute as Caesar, right? Brutus is just as smart as Caesar, people totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar, and when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody because that's not what Rome is about! We should totally just stab Caesar!
