When you comment on a work, it has to be 250 characters or longer. You can see how long something is by the little character counter at the bottom of the text box. At first it can be hard to make your reviews that long, but eventually, you will find that's it hard to go under 250 characters! Be sure to be concise! If you need help with your reviewing, this board has some good articles to check out!

To review you simply go to 'Discover Works' find something you would like to comment on and click reply. 'review' just means voicing your thoughts. Tell what you think about the work and try to help people improve. Don't worry if you don't really know what to say. You will get better. Opinions are a great way to start. Did you like it? But, always try to give one way they could improve such as, " I really liked this, but I think you need more imagery. I don't get the feel of where they are." Do you get what I mean or did I not answer your question? Ask again if I didn't.

P.P.S. As Elinor said here is a good forum to find help about reviewing.
I can't post a new post because I apparently do not have any "points" left. How do I earn points? It says to review but how do I earn points by doing that. I have yet to figure it out. Please help. Thank you!
You earn points by posting a reply to any literary work (a review) that is 250 characters or more in length. You can see how many characters you're at by the little character counter at the bottom of the text box. You can browse literary works by clicking the 'Discover Works' link at the top, from which you can browse through poetry, fiction, art/photography, and more. If you browse through this forum you can find helpful articles on how to critique and what to include and such.

Two questions First off, is there anyway I could change my age? I screwed up the years when I was registering, I'm not 30, I'm fourteen Also, how do I get a little quote under the line that the above posters have? Where can I do that? Thank you for any help!
If I die young, Bury me in satin, Lay me down In a Bed of roses Sink me in a river At dawn Send me away With the words Of a love song.
To change your age, go to My YWS (at the top toolbar) and then go down to 'Edit profile settings'. The age is at the bottom of the page.
The quote under the line is called a signature. Whilst you're still on the page of edit profile settings, look to the left and click on 'edit signature'. Then you can change it!
Hope this helps.
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."
Have you tried uploading it as an attachment? Another way would be to host it on an image site such as Photobucket and then copy and paste the link to a post on YWS.
