Im not one to tell lies, but the shading should be "harder", and less "soft". If those words mean anything (as I have met some people who do not)

I can teach shading on the computer, only in Adobe or MS Paint though, as I have no other experience, maybe paint shop pro because I used to have it to alter alpha channels.

Yeah, the rope goes behind his palm. I love the main character, though- now you just need to do fingers lol. I love the original style- that's hard to come by these days. Although a little less simplistic would be cool, too.
Oh wow! I love it! The only problems I see are that she has no ears and that the stars are pretty redundant. Usually you only want one or two MAX stars like that, and most of them will just be dots with different brightnesses.
