I love this "painting with light." It's very clever. I encourage you to play around with it some more.

Wow! this inspired me! If I could I would give it 2 gold stars! :smt118 OOOH! love it soooo much. But, yeah, new title. My only suggestion is that you edit the hair on her chin, it REALLY looks like a beard. Keep up the good work!

How do you paint with light?

It is hard to explain. You find a very dark room and then you leave the shutter open on the camera while you move torches, lighters, mobile phones or anything that gives off light, around to form a word or a picture.

Hope that sheds a little light :) (originally there was no pun intended)

Now... does anyone have any ideas for a title? :)

The title that came to my mind was "Fairy Dance".
Admiration: Our polite recognition of another's resemblance to ourselves.

Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

Confidence: the feeling a person has before he fully understands the situation.

Shin: A device for finding furniture in the dark.

Appropriate, FireStar.

It really is gorgeous. Congratulations. Perhaps next time you may want to keep the model's silhouette as simple as possible - no stray hairs, form fitting clothing. No random ridges or bumbs because it draws away form the image.

Other than that, I give you an A on lovely.

That's a really beautiful picture, i think if you practiced a little more with the lightbulbs it could be even better.

I really love the contrast between the brightness of the bulbs and the darkness of the model.

Great job :)

Well now, it is utterly, utterly amazing what one can find in the Featured Works list, isn't it?

I can see that this is so very deserving of the stars it has, and the wonderful comments. You've created a fantastic image here, I commend you.

I hazard to point out the "beard" as some before me have, merely because that is the only issue I have with this. I love how it has inspired people, and I do love these light images. You've done so well, and if you say you've done better, I am in awe of you, Shish. ^^

I'd love to see more, and, if you can, some with different colours? Wouldn't it be amazing to see something with purples and blues and pinks? *is rambling*

This is awesome, thank you so much for sharing it with us.

*Hearts* Le Penguin.
I like you as an enemy, but I love you as a friend.

Wow, that picture is amazing!

By "leave the shutter open on the camera" do you mean you increased exposure time? And doesn't that mean the slightest movement could have ruined your picture?

It's a wonderful picture, and other than the stray hair which was already mentioned, I can't see anything wrong with it. To tell the truth, I wasn't really bothered by it until I read the other comments about how it looked like a beard. I love how it really looks like she's holding a sprite made of light!

I really love the soft red surrounding the model.

Great job!

This is a beautiful photograph. I think you could modify the hair by the chin because it looks like needles sticking out. Also, I love the mood that it created in me. The lights look so magically seductive and the model seems to almost ground the photograph so that it doesn't look like a photograph from space. Well done!

Amazing technique.

how did you do that?
Calvin : You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet. You have to be in the right mood.
Hobbes : What mood is that?

I liked the fact that you could see her silhouette among the light. Very interesting.
