The great yellow flower! A wonderous plant to draw. I like how you used the red to show contrast with the yellow.
Nickpicks of DOOM (or something, I dunno): The contrast color = purple.
Purple = the color to shade with, crazy as it sounds, it improves contrast, allowing the eye to pick up the shapes and the yellow.
For example, the petals in the back, near the base where they are connected to the head/over lapped by the other petals should have more shading, adding a darker contrast would divide the plant into more noticeable shapes.
