Started this in December and finally finished... whoops lol. Only took me three months!
Anyways, I'm glad I was finally able to make some kind of tribute to this movie. Princess Mononoke is my favorite film and this is my favorite scene from it. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
Life is a little crazy at the moment so I can't make any promises I'll be able to finish it, but if you want, feel free to PM me a description of your character!
Requests are always a fun, so it'd be a good way for me to procrastinate unwind and focus on something a little less stressful... lol.
I just wanted to pop in and say that your art is gorgeous! I wish I has the perseverance to finish such fully fleshed-out pieces. Kudos to you, friend.
‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽ Life is short. Reality is an illusion. Eat the spicy nuggets. ‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽‽
So I don't know if anyone remembers the comic I was working on back in November, but that's still a thing lol. Only, 'Chasing Shadows' went through a TON of changes and is now 'Hunting Shadows'.
The main cast of characters changed completely, along with a lot of the worldbuilding, but I pulled a few character arcs and plot points from the old comic idea and used them to build my new webcomic.
The plot synopsis I'm going to post on Webtoon (and maybe Tapas at some point):
Spoiler! :
Monstrous spirits are crossing the Veil to the human world in increasing numbers, attacking humans and causing mayhem. For Kassia Marsyl, fighting them is the family business. However, she loses interest in becoming a tragic hero and eventual martyr like the rest of her family members and decides to quit and try her hand at an ordinary monster-free life... Turns out escaping fate isn't that easy.
Basically an action/fantasy, monster-hunter story that's mostly character-driven with a bit of mystery and a bit of drama. So far I've completed two episodes and started working on the third. I'm pretty excited about it, so I thought I'd share some of the concept art here!
Kassia Marsyl is the main character of the comic, a member of a House of spirit-hunters who abandoned her duty to live an ordinary life. Reserved, compassionate, pragmatic, overly-cautious and a bit jaded, she's a reluctant hero and wants nothing more than a quiet, peaceful life.
