Day 15
Title: Spring Sailing
Prompt: View from front of your house in spring
Matching Lyrics:

Baby let's go away
Just you and me, we'll sail
to where the waterfalls never stop pouring out their lullabies.
Where the flowers never end,
and the blossom trends every season.

Oh, let's hitch up our skirts,
grab all our dues and sail.
'Cause I just want to go
to a place that I know
I'll feel home.

And I need you with me,
need that impeccable style.
To string our daisy chains
and blow away the rains
of how this could never be.

Day 16
Title: Lazy Days call for Blending Words
Theme: Reading
Matching Poetry:

Light rays hum like radio static
the crinkles straightened out with time.
Exploding into skin you would think
they would know away it all:
hair, dirt, dust.
into shock waves.

But instead it all
merges into one fuel.

One body.

Lazy days are made
for blending words into a cacophony
of light rays, drifting like a music note
hanging in the air.

Day 17
Title: Pink Nails on Black Backgrounds
Theme: None
Matching Poetry:

Pink nails and pink stilettos
hair whiffed up and ties back.
She inhaled hairspray
and spat golden
lies.

With the good girl swagger:
legs closed, pointy toes, loping stride,
she moved forwards.

Black background behind,
bright future ahead.
But squealing metal
comes from sideways places.

And the end comes from
one stail body,
tipped with pink fingernails
on the black black road.

Day 19
Title: Part II: She wrapped time around her chest
Theme: None
Matching Poetry:

He pressed time to his chest.
willing it to become one with his breathing,
inhaling it like the smuk coloured powder
moving it to the blow of his lungs
(in, out, and exhale...)

He became a slave to the rhythm,
forced to dance to the deadlined beat.
working every last muscle to meet the ends
before the hourglass ran out.
(Ran away)
his eyes clouded over with A+ after A+A+A+
and his pen flurried into overdrive
ticking all the right boxes.

(Time was running through his blood.)

The promises rained down on his head.
a monsoon of paper notes that failed to bring music;
the harmony of love.
So he went searching (left, right, left again)
but the time was in his essence
and it pulled him back with the curl of a whip
tipped with high grades.
upgrades.

(Time was of the essence.)

He ran from his chains
(in, out, exhale...) so the minutes oozed from his body.
he ran into a peculiar girl, a rope wrapped around her neck
he moved (left, right, left again) but she didn't
she was running, but stiff, clipped at the edges, black and white
slipping and sliding, smiling, they collided
and as they crashed and burned
she pulled him over
and he pressed her to his chest
to the harmony of love.

Day 21
Title: Normal Days
Prompt: Picture of your dinner
Matching Poetry:

My normal days
consist of kisses
warm enough to
melt the earth
itself.

Of friendships
so soaked in trust
it dredged up all
the waters dry.

Of hope that never ends
money enough to satisfy smiles
but mostly

of wailing babies with
ever so soft skin
and the tiniest of toes
to tuck into sleep.

Day 22
Title: Opposites are hollow things
Prompt: Your breakfast
Matching Poetry:

lines shift
on cave walls.
throwing shadows
to bounce back
like tennis.

amongst all the vastness
I pray for a friend.

but opposites are hollow things
that have no heart; no heart or bones
just skin that stretches for miles and miles
an empty of shell of who we are.

Day 23
Title: Caught in the Headlights
Theme: Your Website
(excuse the image, I still need to cut the blackness at the bottom of it)
Matching Poem:

Cruising through the fast line
shifting gears and swapping smooth tales
about putting feet to the pedals
is like crushing female dreams.

Like they were worth nothing more
than a single glance; a wisp of time.
mashing up mushy words and touches,
feeding it in baby-like spoons,
all the words I wanted to hear
all the promises never to be broken.

But you've been caught in the headlights, baby,
every cat has stolen your tongue.
as the dear times scamper away
scratching at the shadows opens
eyes to the light.

Oh, what a catastrophe you've landed in.
at different cross roads
between me and you
we made every moment count.
we've lost ourselves somewhere
and now all we are is numbers.

I'm one
you're three.
free.

but these glaring
headlights
cage me
and I'm left
caught
alone.

Day 24
Theme: Baking and Cooking
Title: All in a Days Work
Matching Poem: Form poetry (a Triolet)

Wearied feet cross finished lines
with a warm new us; newly born.
A printed paper to rest the busy mind as
wearied feet cross finished lines.
as love and spring show its first signs
and edges mend, no longer torn.
Wearied feet cross finished lines
with a warm new us; newly born.

Day 25
Theme: None
Title: Creations
Matching Poem:

We are our own genesis.
With writhing bodies and
bony structures
blown up like balloons.
Each made from the previous
with scattered brains that grow pea-sized
but we place above all others.

We crown others with thorns
and shroud our bodies with leaves.
Lost among the backdrop
we whisper about individuality
yet cower from the light.

We are our own genesis.
Tanned bodies, secret thoughts.
Giving thanks for what we've become
by denying who we are:
jagged fingers, numbing thoughts,
sinister smiles and glimmering smirks.

We are our own genesis.
Our undoing roots to our beginning,
none to blame for who we are
but ourselves.

Day 26
Theme: None
Title: Acid Rock
Matching Poem:

negative
positive
everything has its place

even shards of hope
have black lined bags
to be collected
in time

even acid rocks
that bubble to the surface
as we freak out in our skin
words tumbling over one another
in time

will find their place to be
negative or positive
it can be expelled
in spray painted dried jackets
that are denim blue
in time

it might even be through
games of hurling a ball
from one side to another
just like the arguments
vicious words that cut
and hurt us
with time.

all semblance of summer nights;
shadows ease the pain.

Title: Vibrant waves slam into me
Theme: Local Market Day
Matching Poem:

Pills
smaller than a fingernail it spills
into my heart, exploding
like mini galaxies which live
in their own world, loving
the vibrant sounds that
echo their work - a local
harmony to our ears,
a pill to sooth the chaos.

Day 29
Title: Stay In Stay Out
Theme: Hidden
Matching Poem: (Acrostic - or my own take on it I suppose :P)

we compare those hidden behind closed doorS to hermit crabs
Tucking in their bare legs as protection from the elemtns.
but even shelters cAn crumble
despite what You can do.
In and out the wind will blow
and kNock your house down.
come out to me and let uS see
The truth that's locked away.
All the beauties you hide
like Yellowed wall paper
shOuld be peeled back and away,
layer Upon layer,
revel your True self
