It really is, and the only thing, since it is photography we are discussing, that I can suggest is to maybe change the contrast, or color intensity. Make everything seem brighter, more colorful. You can do this by making an account on flickr (if you don't have photoshop or something) and loading your photos onto that instead.
That is, if you can, but if you can't then it still looks great. But that's just my point of view- I'm not a photographer or anything =P

Hi! That's a really pretty picture. I love it! And as break said, you should try iincreasing the contrast, it would look good. It would also look good if you place this leaf among a bunch of green leaves or a grassier area. The shadows on the leaf are annoying, in the sense, you want to take your eyes off them. You should try a different angle.
Anywaym keep up the awesome work!! ~Lava

This is a good shot. I love the colour of the leaf and the light that falls across the leaf is really amazing. You did well with the focus aswell everything appears to be crisp to me and that is good. I'm not sure about the composition though, I can't quite put my finger on it but something just seems a little off. Perhaps it's that the leaf isn't in the centre so it creates this weird kind of dead space in the top of the photo or maybe I am just being too nit picky. Perhaps another angle other than birds eye view would have been interesting also but then you wouldn't have been able to see the whole leaf.
Good job! This definitely has a seasonal feel to it. I hope you post some more work.

Hey Daydreamer! June here, let's get some criticism rolling.
- For starting, there are a few things about the exposure that threw me off. Look at the edges of the leaves in the right corner. That whiteness, the over exposed bit, can be a bother, and a set back should you ever choose to publish your work someplace. When shooting in bright sunlight, try to use a light diffuser -- a pain to most people, lol. Anything that blocks out the direct sun without taking away your light, like a piece of sheer cloth is awesome.
- I'm not particularly fond of the focus. I like unique angles in photography, perspectives that people won't usually take. I like to see things that will make people wow, and this photo's not quite doing it for me.
You've taken the 'dead on' approach, dear. It's like, we're just looking down at the leaf, and that's not superbly interesting. I think, when shooting photos, you should try to create a new way for us to look at something.
I also think that the background should be blurred; it's a bit too much in focus, and that always raises the question of what are we looking at.
Other than that, I think it's pretty good. You should keep shooting, and keep posting. I like your work.
Good luck, any questions, PM me.
