As the title alludes to, photography! I had a bit of a photo shoot with my friend yesterday, and a lot of great things came out of it. I'd love all opinions, critiques! Whatever. ;] I'm basically a photo newb and I just do what I think looks good. I'd love to take some professional classes on it eventually but for now I'm happy just having fun.

Sorry. O_O That's a lot. I hope you enjoy it though! And hopefully these aren't going to stretch out the page TOO much.

I really loved this. Um Im not great at critquing photography, but i just wanted to drop by and say you did an awesome job. My favorite I would have to say are the pictures of person in the grass. Very simplistic and thought provoking. even though the bibliophile comes to a comes tie.

Let's see, picture number one:

I think it's decent, but the composition is kind of confusing. I do like how you have the hair in the picture, but with it, it's kind of as if we are expecting more, like a face to be added to this.

Some parts here look over exposed as well, like her legs and the flowers. It's a bit hard to see the detail in it. I do like the clarity of it, though!

2 - This one's slightly better, but the subject's pose here looks a bitty unnatural, as if she knew the picture was being taken. If her hands were both on the flowers, she's perhaps loo a bit more relaxed.

Nice clarity here, again, though. =]


3 - This one's my favorite, Suz. The clarity and composition here is brilliant. =D


4- This one is good, but it's a bit hard to tell what the focal point of this is. The fence line is pretty distracting, taking away from the girl. If you blur out the distractions a bit, all should be good =D.


5 - Same with the focal point here =D. Because everything is in primary focus, it's a little hard to tell what we're supposed to be looking at.


6 - Kind of grainy and over saturated. It's got strong contrast, but much of it is washed out, so it's kind of hard to see what's going on.

Nevertheless! It's pretty cool.


7 - Again, with the saturation and contrasting. I think it's cool, but the problem is, you have the saturation and contrast so high, that it's going from one side of the colorwheel to the opposite, and it makes the change kind of drastic. It's a bit hard to like, see the lines of the subject, like, the front of her shirt. It's like, all washed out a bit here.


8 - Though very grainy, I like this one alot. Very mysterious looking.


9 - Quite like this one, although it's pretty grainy. It's rather narrow, so, it's kind of tricky to get the full-feel of the photo. There's a photographic rule that there should be more space on the picture in the direction that the subject is facing (forgive me for not being able to quote direct!) so, having it so narrow kind of takes away from the effect.


10 - The last one is pretty awesome. I like how instead of the mask making you look sinister, you look quite happy in it.

Nice work on these, Suzers, keep it up! I would just say to keep an eye on lighting, because when it's low lighting, photos tend to get grainy.

Hey!
I, II, and V are my top choices. They are simple and clear, and the colors are vibriant.

III & IV are okay, but they aren't as "ka-pow" as my first choices. I like the fence in IV, even though June does have a point, the fencing reminds me of Tuck Everlasting. I'm not sure why, since the fence was black (I think?) in that story...

Jumpy and Strentch are a little too sleepover-ish. It just makes me think of pictures you take at a slumber party. I like the leggings, though!

Sqwauk and Bibliophile are my favorites! They are really quirky, yet artistic.

Your work is good. Don't take this the wrong way but some people see things differently. The flower ones were cute and very photographer like, but try to think out of the box. Also try not to be in the pictures and have different styles ( like black and white). It will most likely help.

Grassland I- after thinking about it, I realized more and more how I guess it would make a better picture. Maybe if her hair had been pulled behind her shoulders. This picture is amazing either way though, with the contrast with her pale skin and the black dress and overall quality and clarity.
Grassland II- In this picture, it looks stiff. Awkward posing I guess, but its clear, and vivid.
Grassland III- I'm not sure how you did it, but somehow you maid her pop out of the pictures. In a way, it looks as if the flowers in the corner were blurred, but she wasn't blurry at all. Did you edit it so it was that way? Its really good. Though I think it would have been better if we could see the expression on her face. It might add to it if she looked thoughtful, or determined and serious. Not sure really, I'm new at photography myself. Just a suggestion.
Grassland IV- This one isn't one of my favorites, honestly. I think its mainly because of her posture. She looks to on-high-alert and uncomfortable. Also, it would have been better if there wasn't a fence and a house in the background, but those things can't be helped. I'm not sure what to say to help this one... Maybe if it was closer? Not sure.
Grassland V- I like this one a lot. It kind of annoys me because you stopped right at her neck, but its a good picture, again, its very vivid.
Keep it Secret- I'm not sure what to say. If you look a to the left side, it looks almost as if you had doubled or mirrored the image. It kind of gave me a headache. (Sorry).
Jumpy- So in this one, it seemed to portray the emotion shyness. Its not as good clarity as the rest, but I like it.
Stretch- I think the main good thing about this is if you put this one next to Jumpy, like a sequence of pictures, its a contrast of what type of emotion or feelings (cause in a way, the wake-up-in-the-morning feeling isn't really an emotion). Also, I like the lighting.
Squawk- My favorite one (along with Bibliophile). She looks really relaxed, but the mask does wonders and adds mystery ( I LOVE how the mask makes her eyes just shadows.) The angle was lovely. Though its a bit grainy, it give a lot of inspiration.
Bibliophile- The angle is fantastic! 'nuf said right there. Amazing.
qui est toi?- It's a bit grainy, but I agree with springrain on the rest of it.
