You know you're a writer when you can spend hours perfecting a single sentence, only to delete it in the end because it just doesn't feel right

...you start to narrate everyday things in your life like you are a character in a book and someone is reading the words you are writing on your brain like a novel.

...you begin to notice patterns and unreal things in life that would be better suited in a book. Then you use those things in a book.

...you start to dream in verse or prose.

...you begin to describe things to your friends like you would if you were the narrator of a third-person omniscient book and extremely confuse the people you're talking to.

...you begin to notice grammatical errors EVERYWHERE, even when there isn't anything there.

...you begin to quote and allude to books that no one around you has read. Then you quote your quotations. Then you quote your own stories/poetry that there's no way anyone around you has ever read.

You research questionable things

You know you're a writer when you're always adding and subtracting numbers (for wordcount purposes).

You know you're a writer when you get a little burst of joy when your LA teacher assigns creative writing work. (Or just writing in general (sometimes))

You know you’re a writer when you get plot ideas…IN BED.

You know your a writer when you see a person who looks exactly like one of your characters and you have a mini panic attack

You know you're a writer when you have to mentally describe everything you see, but it also has sound pretty and poetic.

When you think of a metaphor randomly and just have to write it down somewhere so you don't forget about it, because you'll probably want to use it some day.

Songs are no longer songs; they are universes in which characters live in, and they follow the story of the lyrics.

When you're learning about rhetorical analysis in English class, but you secretly love it, because it's really just learning how to write better.

When you create Pinterest boards for all of your characters, since you can't draw, but need a physical image of what they look like and what they like to wear.

You know you're a writer when you get excited when your English teacher starts a lesson about characters and has the class analyze a few villains.

You know you're a writer when you do vocab sentences for English you write them all about your characters.

When you search up the weirdest most questionable things on the internet.

When you see a movie that keeps a highly despised character alive.... and you think "Oh! What a good idea! What a wonderful way to make the people who read your book want to scream!"

When you write essays, but when you read them again it sounds like you just wrote a short story.
