BACKGROUND
Picture this. You live in a totalitarian state. Nothing is the same. Not even rock music is allowed. The government's power permeates into every aspect of your life. They are ultimate.
In order to discourage uprising and non-conformity, they have created "The Program." Every class in the country is eligible to be put in the program. Every year, a random class is chosen to participate in this program. And you, are part of this lucky class.

THE PROGRAM
Put under the guise of a harmless field trip, "The Program" is a government experiment which takes place over the course of several days. Placed on an abandoned island, the class must now eliminate each other one by one, until a single student is left standing.

RULES OF THE PROGRAM
Isolated on an abandoned island, the students must now eliminate each other. Their movements are tracked through metal collars. These metal collars contain not only tracking technology, but explosives as well. They serve multiple purposes. If a student wanders into one of the islands many active danger zones at the wrong time, radio waves will be sent, and the collar will detonate. The collars are shockproof and waterproof, but if dismantling of the collar is attempted, it will detonate. The island is guarded at all times by ships surrounding the water. However, if an escape by sea is attempted, the collars will detonate. If a single student is not eliminated within a 48 hour span, then one of the collars will surprise, surprise, detonate. These collars also contain listening devices, and can also check the pulse of a student. At the end of each post, place your location IN BOLD. At the beginning of posts, put your persons name IN BOLD.

ITEMS PROVIDED
At the beginning of The Program, each student is provided a survival pack that contains items. These items include:
Water
Food
Flashlight
Map of island (With Danger Zones)
Compass
Random weapon or item. This can range from a pen, to an AK-47.

THE ISLAND
The stage for The Program this year takes place on Gunkanjima, an abandoned mining island located in Nagasaki, Japan. Once a thriving coal mining center, it has since been abandoned, leaving behind the shells of its former prosperity and establishment. Although heavily industrialized and full of abandoned buildings, there is one acre of forest located at the cliffs of the island. It is possible to wander into the mining areas, but take caution as they may collapse. Overall, the island contains many hiding places.

Name: Matt Bean
Age: 14
Gender: Male
History: He the son of a former Marine shot down in battle. After his father died he went to live with his aunt where he learned how to shoot a gun and handle a blade.
Appearance: He is average height with black hair with a rare disorder that makes his eyes red.
Skills: He is very accurate with a shotgun and can easily slice through bone with a sword.
Weaknesses: He can not move silently for his life, so a sneak attack is out of the question.
Personality: He very nice and cunning. He also is very athletic and is very active.
Other: The disorder also makes him see bright colors in the night. He will make any thing around him a lethal weapon.

Name: Misty Jennings

Gender: female

History/Background: Her parents made her work hard all her life in sports, school, and social life. She started kindergarden when she was four, managed to be top of her class the last three years, and MVP of soccer, skiing, and Softball for the last two years. She's been a leader and her parents molded her into the perfect child- in their mind.

Appearance: She's 5'10 with long strait brown hair and hazel eyes. She has tan skin and is pretty strong.

Skills: She's very athletic and smart. She's been in the wild before, she went to a survival camp a few years ago. She can climb and swim very well. She went to a camp with a climbing wall, and achieved the master climber status for the camp.

Weaknesses: She's never had a chance to be herself, so she doesn't trust herself very much. She also has never been a long time without food or water, so may not be very good in the conditions. She can't find that much food in nature, just the basic raspberries and pine needles, if anything.

Personality: She's been molded by her parents into a smart, athletic leader, but inside, she's not what they want. She's less outgoing and feels as if she doesn't know who she is. She's not much of a murderer, but she wants to get home to her family and friends.

Other:her reason to go home will change.

Character Profile

Age: 14

Name: Kouhei Takahashi (Why not stick with the Japanese theme of the book?)

Gender: Male

History/Background: Kouhei's life and background is relatively normal. Born in Japan, his family moved to the states when he was only three. He has two loving parents, and a little sister. However, he is constantly tormented by an incurable, psychologically deteriorative disease. His only grip to reality and sanity is established through heavy medications and therapy. Masking his affliction in school and public has taken a severe, mental toll on him. No one in school particularly dislikes him, but he doesn't have any close friends, either. He's nice to everyone, and everyone is nice to him. He treads in neutral waters.

Appearance: He has wide, dark brown eyes and scruffy, medium length black hair, like every other Asian. His features are youthful, but masculine. Physically, he looks a little younger than he really is. He's healthy, moderately muscular, but slim. He's athletic, but he was never a star player of the soccer team or anything. He's never really stuck out appearance wise.

Skills: More than anything, Kouhei is much more intelligent rather than athletic, and often uses his words and reasoning to get out of sticky situations. He is also very analytical. He has no combat/weapons training or experience, but he is stealthy and agile. He also has a strong will to survive. His first personality has no notable skills (besides giving puppy eyes and pleading with tears). His second personality is very much a tactician, and specializes in toying and manipulating others. His third personality will do anything and everything to draw blood, even if it means endangering himself. Being Japanese born, he can speak his native language moderately and conversationally.

Weaknesses: All three personalities of Kouhei have somewhat of an inability to relate to other people, and have difficulty maintaining alliances or friendships. Despite this, he hates being alone, and will grow very attached to people. In his first personality, he has a debilitating fear of blood due to a past experience in a car accident. He isn't very calculated either, and is a bit of a crybaby. In his second personality, Kouhei is more arrogant and hot tempered, and as a result hates to lose. He is also selfish, and will sacrifice another person's life in a heartbeat if it means saving his own. His third personality is constantly blinded by hatred and rage, and sometimes he might not realize the danger he is getting himself into as a result. Due to his disease, Kouhei is also prone to searing migraines. Psychologically, Kouhei is broken beyond repair, and he will do anything to stop the constant mental pain he is in. This need may serve as a weakness, or a motivation.

Personality: One word to describe Kouhei's personality is quiet. However, due to his mental disease, Kouhei has three split personalities. His "normal" state and most prevalent personality is timid, passive, and lonely, but kind. In this state, he tends to be very sensitive, dependent, and prone to panic attacks. His second personality is cold, quiet, and detached, but cynical, dark, and much more mature. In this state, he is much more calculated, and independent, but has somewhat more of a temper. Finally, his third personality is sort of like a "defense mechanism", only appearing when Kouhei needs it the most. This third personality causes him to be an insane killing machine, knowing no morality or emotion besides smothering rage and hate. When provoked, he will murder in cold blood with his bare hands, and feel nothing. So much as a pat on the back will cause him to gouge your eyes out with his fingernails. Nothing nice comes out of exposing his third personality. His personalities are basically like having three people in one, and sometimes Kouhei will even engage in arguments or conversations with himself.

Other: In his first personality, he is extremely desperate for company and alliances, but due to the psychological stress caused by the program, he tends to randomly fluctuate between his three personalities. He is a walking, psychological roulette wheel. His second personality will only kill when necessary, but has no problem with it. His third personality will kill for pleasure with or without provocation. Because of that, he makes a less than ideal partner. Despite this, Kouhei is an efficient killing machine and he is up for alliances, but whether a partnership with him is for your advantage or his, I cannot tell.

Name: Annalisse Trance - Most call her Trance - It's also what she prefers being called.
Gender: Female
History/Background: Trance is the only daughter of her dancer mother and military father. They have both always wanted different things for her. When she was three her mother secretly enrolled her in ballet and jazz and when she was five her father secretly enrolled her in boxing. When she was twelve he put her in rugby. At a young age she learned how to be patient and she has amazing endurance. She still today does ballet, jazz, rugby, and boxing and is amazingly talented at all of them.
Appearance: She has dark, raven black hair. Her skin is very pale and smooth. Her eyes are a a very bright, piercing light blue - some describe them as icy. She is very tall - five feet nine inches to be exact - and she is also very slender. She is very graceful too. She has some fake teeth (they got knocked out in rugby) but you can't even tell.
Skills: Graceful, great endurance, good fighter, good on her feet, quick, okay with hurting people, good with pain, and she is good at sweet talking people.
Weaknesses: She is hard of hearing - well, technically she's deaf, but she has hearing aids, so she considers herself hard of hearing since she can still hear.
Personality: Trance is a very sweet girl with a loving heart. But she has a way of pushing that part of her aside when she does rugby, boxing, or is in danger. She puts up this shell and will do anything to win a game/match and she can hardly even feel the pain until hours later when the shell is dropped.
Other: She has a bunch of scars on her hand and arms from rugby, is almost always bruised, and she has a long scar on the shin of her right leg from someones cleats. She also has small one on the left side of her mouth and one under her left eye that's about two inches wide.

Name: Lilia Santonies

Gender: Girl

Age: 14

History/Background: Her mother was born in Paraguay, and her father was born in Hawaii, so she grew up learning 3 different languages: Spanish, English, and Hawaiian. She took her mother's last name and was given a spanish first name. She has grown to use English most of the time, but has an accent and for no reason rolls her r's. She was born an animal lover, and loves hanging around with her friends.

Appearance: She has the spanish tan skin and dark hair, but has bright green eyes. Has perfect teeth and has always known she was beautiful. She sometimes uses it for her own advantage. 5' 6".

Skills: She was crafty growing up and turn almost anything into something useful. She cooked sometimes with her family and is pretty handy with a knife. She is manipulative and is good at persuading people to do what she wants.

Weaknesses: She is deathly afraid of snakes, since her cousin was bitten by one when she was little. Hardly listens to what people tell her and trusts everybody.

Personality: Manipulative and sneaky, yet kind and caring. She sometimes has two sides, genuinely sweet and innocent, or sneaky and unforgiving.

Other: Her personality may change during the game. It might go either way... (Sweet or sneaky) She is up for alliances!

Now for my other person!

Name: Lucas Bianchi

Age: 15

Gender: Guy

History/Background: His mother is American, but his father is Italian. He has 2 little sisters and 1 older sister who moved out a few months before. Because he had only sisters, he was always playing by himself growing up, so he needs to get to know stranger before he is friends with them. He went to an all boys school, but he transferred. His parents protected him from just about everything, so he's not used to handling things himself. Is very athletic.

Appearance: Dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, medium skin. Prominent muscles, 5' 9", pretty average but good looking.

Skills: Is very athletic and strong. Used to take martial arts, so he is trained with nunchuks. Is a fast runner and can jump high. He is a fast swimmer.

Weaknesses: Doesn't really think things through, doesn't think before he speaks or talks. He is flighty and sometimes paranoid.

Personality: Kind and is an all around nice guy. He keeps promises he makes, and if someone asks him to do something, and if it's not crazy, then he usually does it.

Other: Is up for alliances!

Name: Alison Hawley

Gender: Female

History/Background: Born and raised in South Dakota, lives with her mother and little sister. Works hard at sports, and school. She has been top of her class six years running, and is teased at school because of it.

Appearance: Light brown hair, green eyes, about 5'5'', fair skin, fairly muscular.

Skills: Very knowledgeable about the survival and the outdoors, and knows a lot about plants and many survival techniques. She is also skilled with a gun, her father was a police officer before he died on the job.

Weakness: Although she know plenty about self defense and survival, she lives a privileged life and has little experience of actually being stranded alone and in solitude. She is a little inferior about herself because she is bullied at her school for being really smart.

Personality: She will not have a problem as a murderer because she wants to get revenge for being bullied, and this will be a good way to release her anger.

Other: She has experience with collaboration, and is welcoming alliances.* I will probably add to my character later:)*
