Malevolence DT: topic69243.html

Who they actually are
The Faeries are a creature that all cultures recognise. Over the years they have changed from malicious and sly to warm and welcoming. But original myth has it that the fairies were in fact not all kind nor beautiful, but magically eerie and definitely not attractive. Here, Faeries, are in fact, not necessarily good nor are they evil.

The Plot
The Faeries and their folk are insulted by the humans. The humans mock the Faeries with their 'fairytales' and have atrocious recreations of the Faerie folk. As a lesson, the Faeries wish to teach a lesson to the humans and it won't be nice. The Faerie folk are going to wreak havoc upon the lands the humans dub Ireland and Wales.

Rules
-No God-modding. That's pretty self-explanatory.
-No swearing. It ruins the essence of writing and it just doesn't work with this SB.
-Stick to the myths. You cannot change the Faerie resemblances and their 'gifts/powers'. The whole idea of this SB is to stick to the original myth(s).
-No romance. I would allow it if it worked with the type of SB, but it was more the humans that fall for the Faeries. And the Faeries they fell for seduced them. That I will allow.
-Anything I missed.

The Faerie folk and their descriptions

FEMALE
~The Green Lady of Caerphilly takes on the appearance of ivy when she is not walking through the ruined castles she haunts. She is most known for haunting the castle of Caerphilly, located in Wales. The Green Lady is insulted by the humans because they call her a ghost, but really, she belongs to the Faerie folk.

~Gwyllion- Welsh mountain faeries who have the distrubing habit of sitting amaongst the rocks on either side of a mountain path and silently watching passing travelers. The Gwyllion are most insulted by the fact that few acknowledge that they exist and are sometimes compared to Goblins.

~Leanan-Sidhe (Lan-awn-shee)- On the Isle of Man she is a blood-sucking vampire and in Ireland the muse of poets. Those inspired by her live brilliant, though short, lives. Leanan-Sidhe is insulted by the humans that many simply call her a vampire, but she isn't just that.

~The Glaistig is a water faerie and is part seductive woman, part goat. The goat-like attributes she tries to hide under a long flowing green dress. The Glaistig lures men to dance with her before she feeds, vampire-like, on their blood. Her nature is typically faerie-perverse for she can also be benign and gently tend children or old people. She will also sometimes herd cattle for farmers. The Glaistig is insulted because many compare her to the Leanan-Sidhe or describe her as "an awful woman", and the Glaistig is hurt as she takes pride in her goat-like appearance.
Spoiler! :

~The Asrai are small delicate female Faeries who melt away into a pool of water when captured or exposed to sunlight. These Faeries are most insulted by the fact they may have inspired the tales of fairies being pretty and kind.

MALE
~Urisk is a Scottish solitary faerie who haunts lonely pools. He will often seek out human company but his peculiar appearance terrifies those he approaches. Though he is one of the few of the Faerie folk that like humans, he finds himself insulted when the humans run screaming at the sight of his appearance.
Spoiler! :

~The Killmoulis is a particularly ugly Brownie who haunts mills. He is characterized by an enormous nose and no mouth. To eat he presumably stuffs the food up his nose. Although a Killmoulis works hard for the miller, he delights in practical jokes and can therefore be a pest rather than a help. The Killmoulis is insulted that many find him quite atrocious in appearance and laugh about how he must eat.
