Setting/Plot

Three years after the Second Wizarding War. The magical world has since settled into a routine of normality once more, old lives being rebuilt, the horrible monstrosities of the war being forgotten. The turmoil and suffering of those left behind was incomparable.

Yet still, the wizarding world's peace was to be short lived.

Those Death Eaters who weren't killed in the final battle either fled or were imprisoned. Those who remained bided their time, waiting for revenge and gathering support from fellow dark wizards. Now, three years on, it is time for them to execute their vengeance.

With the aid of informants and infiltrators within the Ministry and Azkaban, dark wizards have began to plot the downfall of wizarding society as it stands. They will destroy everything that stands in their way.

Characters

Note: All of the characters will be of age in the story, and are either school leavers or adults.

All those oppose the Dark Crusade are considered an enemy. Your character can either oppose or support the dark wizards. Most have come together in the hope of safety, some even forming renegade groups formed by the Ministry to find and destroy dark wizard groups.

All of the characters will live in London or its immediate surroundings, to save them blundering about by themselves for half the story.

Rules

No power playing. Not all characters can be amazing duelers.

No killing other people's characters. The characters with inactive writers
may be killed with my permission.

Swearing is permitted. Don't take it too far.

Relationships are encouraged, but no sex scenes, please.

Don't make violence and gore too descriptive.

You cannot play as a character from the series, but they may appear within the storybook.

My character

Name: Oen Jonathan Toppins

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Personality: Oen isn't exactly known for being friendly or approachable. He has a severe problem with trusting people and for that reason, he tends to lurk by himself. In truth this trait arises from the death of his friend Kathryn; many of those he cared about died in the second war, so he prefers to adopt a state of emotional detatchment. Not much for play or chat, Oen tends to be a serious character, especially when it comes to his profession. He can be overbearingly sarcastic at times, earning him a reputation at the Ministry for having an ill temperament and a sharp tongue.
Oen can also be described as courageous, though some of his colleagues would label this as foolhardy, perhaps because of their dislike of him. However, since he began helping with field missions they have learned that Oen is a valuable member to the team. He is incredibly loyal towards his friends, and considers turning his back on them, no matter how dire the situation, to be the ultimate betrayal.

Appearance: He is tall and lean in stature, standing at about 6”. His eyes are a striking colour of ocean blue, while his hair is copper red and seems to be in a constant state of disarray. He has long stopped attempting to tame it, and has instead opted for a shorter, spiky cut, though it still has an air of untidiness about it.

History: Oen’s history began when he joined Hogwarts as a child. He was always a bright pupil, and excelled particularly within the subjects of Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions. As an effective dueller, Oen took part in the infamous Battle of Hogwarts. Many of his closest friends died within the battle, including his long time friend and love Kathryn. Deeply troubled by her death, he decided he would do anything to help bring down those responsible for the deaths during the war. A window of opportunity presented itself. The current minister, Kingsley Shacklebolt, allowed all those of age who took part in the battle to begin training as Aurors without the need of NEWTs. He took the chance, doing exceptionally well in his training. He is now on his way to becoming a full Auror.

Strengths/weaknesses: As a trainee Auror, Oen shows skill in stealth, tracking, duelling and disguise. However, as he is not fully trained, he has not yet learned to use the full extent of his magical potential. However, he finds it difficult to keep a level head if the lives of those he cares about become under threat. His fierce protectiveness can be overbearing for some.

Education: Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. He was in Gryffindor and served as the Quidditch team's beater in his last year at school. He achieved excellent grades in his OWLs.

Blood status: Muggleborn.

Profession: Trainee Auror for the Ministry of Magic, currently finishing his final year.

Residing: An apartment complex near Bow Road underground station.

Other: His magical familiar is a barn owl, named Taelmus. Up for love or friendship, PM me for any offers!

Name: Adalynn Jeanette Cosner.

Age: 17- she dropped out. So to speak.

Personality: Sarcastic, cynical, quick witted and smarter than anyone can believe. She doesn't have much of a temper, but if you ignite it, you're going to regret it very quickly. She doesn't hesitate to resort to violence, and tends to forget that most aren't quite as resilient as she is. As a result of this, she isn't used to people being nice to her, and is rather socially awkward. She's not exactly a loner, but doesn't do very well in large groups. As long as she can remember, she hasn't. She's considered brilliant -a genius, even- and has been employed by the Ministry because of it. She isn't afraid to speak up, and if you hit her, she'll hit back.


Appearance: She's proud to say that her hair is -wait for it- platinum blonde. She gave up trying to manage it when she was in fourth year -the same year of the Battle of Hogwarts- and has kept in a spiky pixie cut ever since. She's streaked it with every color of the rainbow at some point in time; right now, the streaks are bright scarlet. Her eyes are a steely dark gray, sparked with pale gray and dark blue. She has thick lashes, and is moderately pale. She's on the tall side- 5'6" or 5'7"- and stick thin, with almost no curves.


Likes/dislikes: She lives off math, technology, and fast food. Science, her elder brother, rain, the cold, windy days, magic, nighttime- they're all at the top of the list too. Sure ways to make her hate you? Make her stand in the heat or humidity, send a horde of flies after her, physically touch her, make her write with a quill, paint her nails red, tell her she's not old enough to do something, give her anything gold (galleons are an exception), put her in the countryside, or make her drink grape juice.

Strengths/weaknesses: She was the smartest person in her grade, before she left for the Ministry, and still has it. She's resourceful and cunning, and a fast runner. She can drive, ride, or work pretty much anything, and has a photographic memory. She's got more than a little money, can fight well, is stronger than she looks, and lies well. However, she's got enough pride for the nation, and can overestimate herself. She's stubborn and more than a little violent, and not the strongest person on Earth. She can't ever stay still and is impatient, and has a weak spot between her shoulder blades. She isn't exactly sympathetic and holds grudges if you've done enough.

Education: Hogwarts, years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... and half of seventh. She didn't come back after winter holidays, deciding she wasn't being challenged. Ravenclaw through and through, played Chaser for the House team starting in third year. She was Captain fifth through what little of seventh she did, and had the biggest winning streak for Ravenclaw in ten years. It's the only thing she misses- Quidditch. She still utilizes her broom, something she invented herself, as transportation. Apparation never seems quite as fun.

Blood status: Half-blood.

Profession: Trainee for the Department of Mysteries.

Residing: An apartment in the urban area. (Wait... are there any other areas for apartments?)

Other: Brother is an Auror, eight years older than her. Rides either her broom or her motorcycle basically everywhere.

Name: Sarah Alda Kinnaird

Age: 20

Personality: Sarah is a true-born Slytherin a the core. She's quite a sarcastic person, and a very smooth talker. She looks out for her own interest carefully, even if that mean doing harm to others. But do not apply the Slytherin stereotype to Sarah. She is not a Death Eater, nor ever will be. Sarah has a very dry sense of humor, and is a good friend if you do not insult her. But she can hold grudges for a long, long time.

Likes/dislikes: Sarah hates being judged prematurely. She's sick of all of the bad publicity Slytherins and most pureblood families have gotten since Voldemort's fall. Sarah is quite the practical joker, though, amongst her friends. She loves Quidditch with a passion, and gets savage pleasure out of debating with people.

Strengths/weaknesses: Sarah grew up in a family of dark wizards. She's not a stranger to dark magic, and knows how to cast a good bit of it. Sarah doesn't hesitate, and doesn't often let morals get in the way of her doing what she wants. She'll defend her friends and allies fiercely. But, as Sarah is a very sarcastic person, she often gets carried away. She'll play the "typical" Slytherin role for a long time, given the opportunity. As Sarah becomes more and more frustrated or irritated, the reliabilty of her conversation decreases. She will purposely skew information just to irritate whoever she is talking to. This has gotten her into trouble before.

Education: She's a Hogwarts graduate. She was a Slytherin, and proud of it. Sarah's grades were passable. She was a good student, but her heart was in Quidditch. She was captain of the Slytherin team, and a Chaser since second year.

Blood status: Pureblood

Profession: Chaser in the Holyhead Harpies

Nationality: British

Residing: She is living, as of now, on her parents' old estate. She and Cyril inherited all of her parents' fortune when they died in the Second War. Since Cyril has been missing for months, Sarah has assumed all of the managing duties of their estate.

Other: One must remember that Sarah grew up in a household of prejudice wizards. Although her life experience has caused her to loose much of her ingrained prejudism, Sarah remains slightly prejudice against muggles. It wouldn't be taking a huge leap for her to sacrifice a muggle's life to save a wizard's. This prejudice doesn't carry over to muggleborns, however. One of Sarah's best friends (and fellow Chaser) is a muggleborn Hufflepuff. Also, Sarah very nearly escaped being recruited by Voldemort. Sarah is very grateful that she escaped that fate.

Name: Cyril Xavier Kinnaird

Age: 23

Personality: Cyril is a Slytherin, through and through. He is very much like his sister, in that aspect. But (as he graduated during the Second War) he was recruited as a Death Eater a year after he left Hogwarts. His life as a Death Eater set in place the personality traits that have faded in Sarah. Cyril is cold, calculating, and ruthless. He knows nothing but his prejudice. Cyril, though he does not regret his lifestyle, feels as though he was trapped into it. He never had a choice to be recruited. His parents were Death Eaters, so he was expected to follow in their footsteps. As such, Cyril has little faith in the world's ability to right itself. Cyril's world is full of hate. There are very few things Cyril enjoys.

Likes/dislikes: Cyril loves feeling powerful. He enjoys feeling in control. He despises exceeding "noble" people. They tend to be arrogant, and Cyril thinks they are naive and ignorant.

Strengths/weaknesses: Cyril has a vast array of dark spells at his disposal. He has a ruthless quality about him that allows him to delve into distasteful tasks without hesitation. But Cyril has very low stamina. He cannot keep up a duel for long. Cyril also tends to want to gloat. While he is gloating, Cyril will let his guard down and often his plans will be spoiled.

Education: Hogwarts graduate. During his time as a Death Eater, Tristan gained vast knowledge of the Dark Arts.

Blood status: Pureblood

Profession: N/A. His family is not hurting for money, so he dedicates his time to "more meaningful" pastimes.

Nationality: British

Residing: Cyril has been travelling from place to place, working with the Dark Crusade. He's got no set residence right now.

Other: Cyril feels like his sister has betrayed him and their family. As Sarah will go to help destroy the remnants of the Death Eaters, Cyril will realize that the order to dispatch her will come. He can only home that Sarah will come to her senses before it is too late.

Name: Raelyn Allison Versailles

Age: 20

Personality: She's tough and independent and writes her own rule book. She doesn't linger though and she's always on the move. She is unpredictable and uncontrollable. She's distant and vague and doesn't let many people get to know her. She's really hard on herself and hates it when she or anyone else messes up. She's resourceful and clever but not very into book learning. She's nice when she likes you but if she doesn't there's no chance.

Likes/dislikes: She likes forbidden spells, she enjoys exploring the underbelly of the wizarding world, she likes the rain, she loves piano music, and she's into magical graphite art. She hates people who always have their nose in a book, she dislikes people who wear too much perfume and she hates snakes.

Strengths/weaknesses: She has a gift for making up her own spells, she is great at nonverbal magic, she is street smart and knows many secrets about wizarding places. She is athletic and has amazing hand eye coordination. Trouble seems to follow her wherever she goes (she usually brings it upon herself) she has zero respect for authority and she never learned a good healing spell.

Education: A graduate of Hogwarts. She was very ambitious at first and then when she heard all the rules she had to abide by she pretty much just went her own way. She graduated with decent enough grades to get herself somewhere. She played Seeker in Quidditch for the Slitherin team.

Blood status: Half-blood.

Profession: She sort of "interns" as a wandmaker.

Nationality: She comes from Canberra but moved to London to study at Hogwarts.

Residing: She has a flat in Southwark.

Other: Up for love. She's an animagus. Her animal form is a large bright white cat with one violet eye and one amber eye. She's unregistered.

Name: Hazel Donovan.

Age: 19.

Personality: Hazel hides her rebellious nature behind a shy, kind and quiet facade while plotting how next to fly under the radar. With a snarky mouth when she's not watching it and a sometimes too confident attitude, Hazel often gets in trouble and has done so one too many times. Though she's smart and talented, her downfall is her temper and her smart mouth. She often acts before thinking. When Hazel is not getting into trouble, she's often trying to avoid fights as some people highly dislike her kind ways.

Appearance: Tall-ish, about 5"6 with dark brown eyes and medium brown/Mahogany hair.

History: Hazel grew up with her non-magical Aunt out side London. Her father died when she was very young--killed by a dark wizard. Her childhood was okay, but never happy. She loved going to Hogwarts. Nowadays she's staying with her Mother, who's a muggle lawyer.

Likes/dislikes: Likes magic, offensive/defensive spells, being in control, not getting caught doing the wrong things . Dislikes getting caught, fighting, getting into trouble and living with her muggle mother.

Strengths/weaknesses: Strengths; Stealth, smart and fast on her feet. Weaknesses; has a smart mouth that gets her into trouble, a temper and a tendency to get into trouble, no matter what she does.

Education: Graduated from Hogwarts. Was in Slytherin.

Blood status: Half-blood.

Nationality: British.

Residing: Her mother's appartment in London.

Other: She always has her wand (Elm, 16", phoenix feather core) with her and a dagger tucked into her left boot.

Name: Mia Willow Abbruzzese

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Personality: Mia has a bubbly personality, perfect to suit her. She gets along with almost everyone who enters her shop, another thing that helps her suit her job. She will become a lot more quieter once she has had a couple of drinks in the Leaky Cauldron. She is very light-hearted, optimistic and naïve often meaning she fails to recognise dangerous situations.

Appearance: She is around the height of 5’8”, skinny and has some curves, but they aren’t very noticeable. Her hair comes down to her shoulders, a mahogany colour, naturally thin and poker straight, taken from her mother. Her eyes are a deep brown colour, lined by long eye lashes and her eye brows are perfectly arched on her head. Mia also has a long gnash running at the very left of her face, form the last wizarding war.

Likes/dislikes: She likes making acquaintances of others. She loves her shop. She also likes the countryside, the city life gets to her, she only stays so she can have her shop. She hates her brother, as he sided with the Death Eaters in the second war. She hates most fruit and is allergic to the rest, she also hates fast foods, but will only eat one if she needs to, but would prefere to make her own.

Strengths/weaknesses: She has a very bubbly personality, helping her feel confident when getting to know people. She knows all of the hidden places in Diagon Alley, though she has no way of telling of when danger is around. She doesn't know how to protect herself if someone did attack her. She has good, sharp eye-sight, a good thing for owning a shop, as well as her personality.

Education: Gryffindor, Hogwarts, she got good grades in her OWLS,giving her a good chance to get a job in the Ministry of Magic though she doesn’t want to get involved with any department in the Ministry of Magic.

Blood status: Halfblood

Profession: Working in her shop in Diagon Alley. A fashionable wizarding clothes shop.

Nationality: Northern Irish.

Residing: Above her shop.

Other: Up for love and has a cat called Nyah.
