Note: This storybook is a derivative of a storybook called “Eidolon’s Chains”. It will borrow some of the concepts from that SB but you don’t need to know what’s happening in that SB to play this one.

Link to Eidolon’s Chains can be found here: topic59930.html?hilit=eidolon%27s%20chains

Plot:

In a distant part of the magical world, there was a town that precipitated occasionally with enchanted rain. This town was located in a middle of a desert and nestled at the foot of a mountain. The desert itself was home to many ancient ruins, catacombs, and the remains of travelers and fierce beasts.

The townsfolk not only used this water for drinking and cleaning, but for farming and industrial uses. To prevent erosion from becoming a problem, the town was laid out in a “dream catcher” like shape. The actual town itself was the outer ring, and the streets themselves were made of flagstone so that excess water could run off into the grades that led all the way to a nearby lake.

Inside of the ring was where the farms are, and there were many paths that branched off to the various farming patches. Because the farms were exposed to this enchanted rain, they were able to grow normally like in a standard farm. There were also cacti planted throughout the farms to further help prevent erosion.

Farming was not the only way the town made money. Quite a bit of it also came from exporting purified rain water to a niche alchemist market. When there was a downpour of rain, the chemists that worked in the town collected the water for processing. However, there were many factors involved that limited the amount of this purified enchanted water that’s actually distributed.

Firstly, there was a lot of upkeep involved in maintaining the machines because of its tendencies to break if not supervised. Secondly, the process was rather complex, and training actually took a few months. And thirdly, the actual process itself also took some time to complete. But despite all these factors, it was a rather profitable business due to the exorbitant prices that alchemists were willing to pay.

The town was prospering...Until one day, a group of Black Mages secretly infiltrated the sanctuary at the top of the mountain where the artifact that magically generated the rain was located. Little was known of their intentions. Some of the townsfolk speculated that because the Black Mages had loose ties with a kingdom that’s still recovering from depression due to a war that spanned several years, they were simply using the artifact to help rebuild their society. Some saw little point for them to steal the artifact, considering that it only worked if it was placed in its socket in the sanctuary.

Meanwhile, a group of Royal Guards have been deployed to the town to help track down the Black Mages, find out why they’ve stolen the artifact, and to bring them to justice.

Setting:

A desert town (nestled at the foot of a mountain) that only precipitates enchanted rain. There’s also a rail-road track that leads to main civilization. Surrounding the town are many ancient ruins, catacombs, and the remains of dead travelers and fierce beasts.

The now:

I haven't decided on this, but I intend to have the two parties start together at two different points.

Information and concepts:

Think of this storybook as a steam-punk fantasy (like Fullmetal Alchemist). The Royal Guards are the equivalent of Aurors from Harry Potter and the Black Mages are kind of like Team Rocket.

In short, this storybook will have a Harry Potter meets Pokemon kind of feel to it.

Important!: If you are part of the Black Mages, then I'll be PMing you guys the reason as to why they've stolen the artifact. This is so that those that are playing as Royal Guards do not find out. Storybook also doesn't start till the 18th of August.

Rules:

Standard rules apply (I also have a right to approval of posts and profiles). For god-moding, you can only dictate another character’s actions if you can keep them in character and if the action isn’t a drastic one.

Misc:

Please try to use correct grammar (I cannot stress this enough). Posts have to be meaningful and move the plot forward in some significant way. Please don’t write about fluff as it will make it difficult for people to enjoy this storybook and to be able to include you in their posts.

Please (and I cannot stress this enough) have a character that will fit the plot and to include others in your post. This is meant to be collaboration after all.

To be finished. Soon. oo"

Name: Nicolae Harcourt

Role:

Main Role: The Spock

Other Roles:Oracle/Navigator/Survivalist (Sort of. He's there to keep you guys alive by coming up with food/water/whatever)

Character picture:

Spoiler! :

Just what the hell do you think you're doing?

Character quote: “I think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated His ability .”

Character theme: (A song or theme that best represents your character)

Try this: Policy of Truth or Enjoy The Silence

Allegiance: Black Mages

Age: 20

Appearance:

Nicolae is dark-haired, with strong dramatic features and a lean build. He's not all that tall, clocking in at 5"8. His eyes are, ironically, quite dull and possess no inventive spark or knowledgeable shine to them whatsoever. They're ordinary and quite unremarkable, except for the darkness of their blue. His face is often set in a neutral expression, though this isn't to say he doesn't smile or laugh. You'll find him in little nooks and corners if you're lucky.

Personality: (please include strengths and weaknesses)

Strengths:

Nicolae's abilities have exposed him to the realities of the world, and he is very grounded. His head is hardly ever in the clouds, although he does enjoy dreaming of an ideal society and how it could be achieved on rare occasions. He doesn't attract attention and is frequently giving credit to other people if he believes they deserve it (which means that he'll commend you if you understand the flaws in your plan and move to correct it without any help from Nicolae). He excels at making decisions and carefully thinks everything through before making a decision. His mind is sharp and he has a keen eye for detail and precision work. He is never sloppy and always knows the flaws of a plan. He also doesn't grapple for the dominant position and is happy enough being second-in-command, or the man behind the leader. The background is where Nicolae prefers to do his work. Nicolae also has a very strong sense of morality, as he is able to weigh both sides of the story and decide for himself which is right.

He's reserved and he knows exactly how to handle a situation, and what makes people tick. He uses all facets of his ability for maximum effectiveness, and is not averse to doing something people might hate him for so long as he knows it's for their good.

During fights, he may not jump into the fray and will prefer to stay on the fringes, using evasive techniques all the while, but he will certainly rise to the occasion if when he realizes that one of his teammates is on the verge of dying. He will help his teammate out by incapacitating the enemy, although he will, more often than not, refrain from killing the opponent.

Weaknesses:

Nicolae has the bad habit of knowing the price of everything and being unable to appreciate anything. This cynic also has a tendency to be overbearing, and whenever you're around him you always get the feeling he knows something you don't (which is probably true, unless you're a seer too), and this gets very frustrating as Nicolae is stubborn and he refuses to divulge his secrets unless you absolutely and positively need to know them. He may not say anything and he most definitely will not contradict the group's plans, but he's the one mocking it, and he makes sure you know it.

His quiet and contemplative nature is highly averse to confrontations, and this is very bad when it comes to fights and arguments. He will easily back down from arguments despite his superior knowledge. If he really wanted to, he could win all arguments, but he just finds them unworthy of his time, as he finds most things. Simple people bore him to death, though he finds himself fascinated by complex people with layers of reason. He is highly reserved, though, and hardly ever displays approval for anyone, constantly looking down on people.

Finally, Nicolae is well-aware of his own faults and shortcomings, and thus suffers from an inferiority complex which he keeps to himself. It largely comes off as a superiority complex, because he also has a low opinion of others.

Character Background:

Nicolae Harcourt's mannerisms may not show it, but he doesn't come from a rich family. He's the son of an average farmer and his wife, and exactly why the gods chose to bless him with his gift is a mystery. Little Nicolae knows a secret, however, and that is that he's not his father's son - his father is actually the baron, who met his mother while she worked as a cook in the baron's home.

Nicolae sought to distance himself from his brothers and sisters, and though this upset them so, they did not cross their brother, whom they revered. He was brought up treated like some sort of deity, and word had spread around about the farmer's son. Nicolae had even met a Marquess by the time he was 6.

The little prodigy, however, was not content where he was and craved for greater heights. He knew he would never reach his potential just staying in town and that it was only a matter of time before one of the powers who thought of adopting him actually pushed through with their plan. He sorted through everyone he knew was coming for him and had the gall to turn down a duke who'd offered to adopt him.

The backlash was swift and extreme, but it didn't quite have enough time to really get to Nicolae. The little cynic knew someone who had screwed up, and would desperately need his help. The Black Mages' consigliere (adviser) turned out to be the lucky bastard. All it took Nicolae was a visit, and soon the preteen was the consigliere's favorite understudy. The Harcourts never found out about it, and all they knew was that their son disappeared without a trace one night.

At the moment, Nicolae is gunning to be the consigliere of the Black Mages himself, and is in fact lined up nicely for the position. Everybody in the Black Mages is keeping an eye on the oracle who could kill the current consigliere and never get caught for it...but hasn't. Someone who could be working for the Royal Guards and earning things legitimately, but isn't. His distancing himself and being an isolationist doesn't exactly help his case either, but most people do grant him a measure of respect.

All eyes are on the young upstart of the Black Mages, and rumors do fly about him. One thing's for sure - Nicolae's got something big up his sleeve, and everyone's just waiting for crap to start flying.

Abilities:

Nicolae is a seer, and has known he was one ever since his childhood. He knows everything that is currently going on and everything that has happened, and also has a limited grasp of the future. The future is a tricky matter, as it is prone to changing at any given moment, so he needs to actively seek out the knowledge every few minutes or so to make sure his vision is still correct. Constantly checking is a lot of hassle, and even then the knowledge can be voided at any given moment. For this reason, Nicolae avoids trying to see the future and is content with his superior knowledge of the past and present.

Unfortunately, though Nicolae is a seer, he can't quite communicate what he knows. Any time he attempts to tell another person something they do not know (in any way), he experiences a burning physical pain that makes him feel like something is devouring him from the inside out. For this reason, Nicolae refuses to teach anyone anything, or tell anyone anything they do not know unless they absolutely and positively need to know. The only exception to this are Nicolae's feelings, when he chooses to reveal them.

Because he is a seer, he has a good grasp of the techniques and concepts behind everything. Whether or not he is good at doing them is another matter entirely and is dependent on what kind of skill it is. For example, Nicolae knows how to survive in the wilderness and he can easily put that into application, as it's rather simple to do that. However, he isn't a good swordsman, because although he knows the concepts behind the art, he hasn't practiced it. Likewise, Nicolae can do basic magic but has not practiced enough to dabble in higher magic.

Nicolae has no experience in physical fighting at all, and is very weak in that area. Magical fighting...he can hold his own for a bit. This doesn't mean that he's an easy target when it comes to fights, though, because he knows everything going on. Meaning that if you're thinking of attacking him, he will know, and he will take evasive measures ahead of time. But as long as you don't think or attack him out of the blue (or by accident) then he won't be able to take precautionary steps. He will also know the weaknesses of your style of fighting and your preferred ranges/tactics, regardless of whether or not you know them yourself (and it doesn't matter if you created the style either). He knows all your attacks and can therefore predict (to some degree) which attack you will use next if you decide to simply charge into a fight with him without thinking. You ought to be careful while doing so, however, as Nicolae keeps a revolver with him, though he does keep it well-hidden under his cloak. He knows your precise location, and is an excellent sharp shooter.

Finally, Nicolae is a useful navigator, as he doesn't have to teach anyone anything. You simply have to follow him and you'll be sure to reach your destination with no problems. Anything that involves skills that don't make him teach people will also make him useful to his teammates.

Equipment:

He enjoys keeping a journal and a sketchbook. He writes (or draws) what he feels needs to be on paper there, and never lets them out of his sight. Apart from those, Nicolae keeps a revolver with him. Revolvers may be fairly new and there is suspicion on those who use them, but Nicolae knows better than to keep waving it around. He's quite good at fastdraw, although reloading is a different matter. He's competent, but not entirely.

Misc:(Quirks, Habits or Favourite Spells)

Although Nicolae is not particularly afraid of anything, he does greet the future with apprehension. He has a habit of crumpling up a piece of paper from his sketchbook and chucking it at a person whom he feels needs to reconsider what he or she just said. It's his way of communicating his displeasure at certain ideas, as he cannot tell the what he needs to. Also, ironically, Nicolae does not thank the gods often and isn't religious, and can often be caught blaspheming their names.

Not yet finished!

Name: Mireille Arianrhod

Character picture: (Don't really care if it is a cartoon or not)
Spoiler! :
Image

Character quote: "Don't worry about what people think. They don't do it very often."

Character theme: (A song or theme that best represents your character)

Paper Aeroplane - Angus & Julia Stone

Allegiance: (Royal Guard,Black Mages or a townsfolk. There are only 4 spaces if you intend to be a townsfolk though.) Royal Guard (Sorceress)

Age: 22 (may change)

Appearance:

When you stare right into Mireille's stunning violet eyes, you'll be startled to see that her pupils has tiny silver stars inside it. That's the sign of a powerful druidess or sorceress who was born with gifts (magical talent), and even though the Arianrhods have been famed for their magic for centuries and centuries, she was only the third one in her family to have these beautiful eyes, the first being her great grand-grand-grand ancestor, the second being her own mother. She has long slightly wavy black hair and a fringe that usually covers her left eye. She has a petite figure, and is only around 5'2 to 5'3. (She usually says she's 5'4.) She has a moon pentacle tattoo on her right ankle as a lucky charm. Her own father, a brilliant druid who, from time to time dabbled in alchemy, helped her tattoo it during her coming-of-age ceremony. She usually wear dark, long and flowing clothing to hide her pale skin from sunlight, as she is easily sunburnt.

Her tattoo:
Spoiler! :

Personality: (please include strengths and weaknesses)

Mireille is aloof and reserved when she meets strangers, but will become more friendly as time passes. She may seem antisocial, but secretly she enjoys being with around people her own age. She usually is quiet, but when it comes to important issues, she will stand up for what she thinks is right. For some reason, she cannot stand secretive or passive people, even though she herself is one, and is very hard to make friends with.

As you can tell, she looks down at stupid or non-gifted (as in magical) people. She is critical of herself and others, especially her loved ones. She can be extremely bossy and a bit of a show-off. She can be uncompromising and temperamental, but she is extremely loyal and expects the same from the others. Oddly enough, she isn't very sarcastic --- she will get straight to the point, an uncommon trait for someone who was brought up as a druidess. She tries her best to be polite to people, but she just can't hide her irritation when people bother her.

Mireille is easily bruised because of her druidess background (the druidesses were against violence and thus she hates battles as well unless it is necessary). She is a vegetarian, like most of the people in her family. She is naturally a kind person at heart, and loves to interact with animals and birds. She loves drawing, and sometimes wishes that she could become an artist instead of a sorceress. When she isn't practising magic, she daydreams and hums folk songs under her breath. If anyone comments about her sweet voice, she will lash out at them, even if they were paying her a compliment. She is very sensitive about what people say about her, but pretends that she isn't. She doesn't play by the rules, but will not step out of line except when she thinks it is necessary. She is quite inventive, and values creativity and imagination over anything else --- even level-headedness.

Character Background:

Mireille was raised by her mother, a famed druidess. Unfortunately, Mireille didn't inherit her mother's water divination skills and her family (all druids and druidesses) made sure to remind her of that. At a very young age, she started practising magic secretly and when she was just thirteen, she could already perform complicated rites of magic. Knowing that Mirelle would never be a great druidess because of her appalling lack of divination skills, her mother decided with a heavy heart that she was to join the Royal Guard and learn other forms of magic.

She learned elemental magic (fire, earth, water and air) but she only likes using earth and water magic, because that's what her parents were masters of. Her father died when she was sixteen in a small skirmish in the village they lived in(her mother never explained why). She continued to master one of the most powerful forms of magic --- performing magic using the moon's energy and she still continues to refine and invent new spells for this particular brand of magic to this day.

On her first assignment for the Royal Guards, she was sent to capture an powerful but demented warlock on her own by mistake (she was originally going with some others). She trekked through the Acayib Rainforest and up numerous mountains until she arrived at the warlock's hiding place. Many feared for little Mireille's life, for she was only eighteen then, and not experienced at all; but to their surprise Mireille easily "disconnected", so to speak, the warlock's source of power for his magic and brought him back to the place where he was convicted of many crimes and hanged.

Of course, after that first mission, the Royal Guards gave her more and more, and she completed them all with flying colours. But Mireille, tired of seeing the people she captured killed or tortured, took a little vacation to rest and heal from the physical and emotional trauma that her job has given her. She is a druidess at heart, after all; that is why she chose to spend half a year back at home, refining her druidess magic and her connection to nature.

This is the first mission that Mireille has been given after her vacation, and her first time cooperating with fellow Royal Guards. She doesn't really like being with other RGs, because she feels uncomfortable. But her boss said it would help her get back in her prime, so she agreed to this quest (albeit unwillingly).

Abilities: (magic or normal. List their strengths and weaknesses)

As I mentioned before, Mireille is brilliant at elemental and moonlight magic, but she cannot predict the future (like most druidesses) to save her life. She knows some healing magic (like herbs, spells, casting sacred circles and so on) from her mother, but doesn't even know how to cook (she lived a pretty sheltered life before). She cannot make any kind of potions at all, much to the chagrin of her family. She can converse with animals with her mind, but she cannot read minds. She sometimes can kind of sense what people are thinking, though. She cannot sense whether a person is lying or not, but she does know how to coerce people into talking (usually some pleading with little persuasion spells).

She is terrible at fighting or combat magic, but can protect herself, thank you very much. When facing an opponent, she likes to think up of the most unlikely ways to disarm her opponent, usually by distracting them and manipulating her surroundings or persuading her friends the sprites to subdue them. If that isn't possible, she will try to knock them down without really hurting them and will save her energy for the last resorts. Usually she doesn't have to use her moonlight magic very often.

Equipment:

She always wears a royal blue sapphire necklace, which captures energy from moonlight to power her spells and magic. She always brings her leather satchel with her at all times --- in it is her notebook full of spells and observations about magic, a packet of travelling herbs and potions (her mother made her to bring some with her every time she steps out of their house), a quill and a bottle of ink, a bottle of water and some provisions.

Her necklace: (I'm sorry if the picture is too large! :()
Spoiler! :
Image

Misc:(Quirks, Habits or Favourite Spells)

She is addicted to very fond of xocolātl, a kind of ancient hot chocolate with spices and chillies. It's basically her morning coffee, and she will become very, very grumpy if she can't have a cup of hot, bubbling xocolātl every morning. When she is nervous, she constantly bites on her lip and her fingers twitch. Her favourite spell is one she invented herself --- the incantation is something like fegkari, selini, lunazo --- and it calls upon the spirits of the three sister druidesses to help her perform difficult and complicated magical rites, like when she dances all night long inside a powerful sacred circle and makes offerings to the goddesses (both normal ones and the ones that only the druids worship) to improve her inner magic. Oh, and she is up for love, if it matters at all in this storybook.

you'll never find another sweet little girl with sequined sea foam eyes
ocean lapping voice, smile coy as the brightest quiet span of sky
and you're all alone again tonight; not again, not again, not again.
and don't it feel alright, and don't it feel so nice? lovely.

Name: Maria Ceridwen.

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
(Minus the earring.)
Image

Character quote: "Feel the fear and do it anyway."

Character theme: "If Everyone Cared" - Nickelback; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IUSZyjiYuY

Allegiance: Townsfolk.

Age: 18.

Appearance: Maria has pale hazel-green eyes and pale skin. She's tall-ish, maybe 5'5, with long, black hair and she's slim, but not too thin. She often looks kind but appears distant as she's not keen on the whole social thing and is often seen wearing neutral colours. Maria has a network of scars across her shoulders and back from an accident when she was younger.

Personality: Maria is kind, caring, loving, determined, and fiery. She has a pretty tame temper and is friendly and kind--until her friends and family are being harmed/threatened. Although she senses emotions, in all their forms, she prefers peace to violence and doesn't like to fight--though she can and will if she needs to. She often seems timid and shy, though it's usually just a mask to distract others, as she's not very confident in herself.

Character Background: Maria was born in Dolen, a town that's often gifted with enchanted rain, to a Chemist and his wife. As she was growing up, her parents could tell that there was something different about Maria. At five years of age, her parents found out about her...abilities - she said her mother was scared when the woman had clearly been trying not to appear so.

Over the next few years, Maria's ability grew until she was able to tell if someone was lying to her or not, and with that, came the downfalls; becoming as ill as whoever she happened to be in close proximity to that was ill themselves, or feeling the darkness someone kept hidden, and becoming overwhelmed by it. At seven years of age, she was involved in accident that left her shoulders and back scarred.

At thirteen years of age, she was encouraged to help her mother at home and rarely left the house unless sent on an errand for her mother. By this time, he father had disappeared during mysterious circumstances; this left her older brother in charge. The next four years of her life weren't very encouraging, and she sought any chance she could to get out of the house, even at rick of being unable to move later if she happened to pass someone seriously ill or dark in nature.

Now it's not raining anymore and everyone is worried, leaving Maria overwhelmed by the emotions surrounding her. Seeking an escape, she headed for a place she hoped would be quiet only to be overwhelmed by darkness as she reached the edge of town.

Abilities: Maria has an uncanny ability for sensing emotions. She can't manipulate them, however she does know what those around her are feeling most of the time, and if they are lying to her. Unfortunately, if she goes near someone who is really sick and/or dying or if she goes near someone who is dark in nature, she becomes sick herself.

Equipment: A flask of enchanted rainwater.

Misc. (Quirks, Habits or Favourite Spells): When nervous, she has a habit of dropping things. She also tends to call people out for being scared/angry/upset/etc when they're trying to not to appear so.

Name: Eli Uni

Role: Distraction and Disarmament

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
Image

Character quote: “Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it”

Character theme Macy Gray Beauty In The World

Allegiance: Royal Guard

Age: 24

Appearance: He has wavy brown hair and dark brown eyes coupled with very sharp features and a tall lean body structure.

Personality:

Eli loves beauty in all of its forms. Nature fascinates him as does beautiful women. He thinks that no one should be restricted to only one women, so he likes to sample around. This makes him very flirtatious and even if not flirting he is sizing up a women’s beauty. Because of his attention to detail he likes things organized and finds symmetry and patterns to be preferable to disorder.

Eli hates people that lie. He has a very black and white sense of justice when it comes to this one sin. He refuses to lie himself and speaks his mind without question. This ideal he holds on to with a iron grip and if infringed upon even once his opinion on a person will be severely soured. Other than this one transgression he seldom is off put by people and their actions. He rarely gets annoyed and is perfectly fine with people not liking him or thinking ill of him. He takes things as they come believing that thinking things out to much ruins the beauty spontaneity.

Outside of this he is generally a laid back guy that enjoys the comforts of life, and bathes in the majesty that is life. He respects all living things believing them to be beautiful in their own way. All though he believes all people to be beautiful in some way he is rather picky about the women he surrounds himself with.

Character Background:

Eli grew up with his single mother and his siblings who are all the same age since they are quadruplets. His mother recognized his interest in nature and would take him for picnics in the woods where Eli liked to examine all the plant life and animals. She would tell him about all the different flowers and quiz him on the information the next day.

His father was usually a drunken man that often left the house saying he was going to work. One night after such a claim he and his sister Megan followed him to another woman's house. Megan advised Eli not to tell their mother and he didn't. A few weeks later their father left to be with his mistress. Their mother completely blindsided by the betrayal committed suicide leaving the four teens to make it on their own. They were all 15 at the time.

They all joined the Royal Guard when they were old enough to apply. His sister Della didn’t take her job seriously enough and was relieved of her duties. His other sister Megan found the work to contain too much conflict and left on her own accord. His brother was killed on the job making Eli the Royal Guard of the family. He is still close to his family except for Della. Eli keeps a garden in his backyard in which he grows ,herbs, vegetables and flowers. He uses these to make mild mediecines, food for himself, and boquetts of flowers for women that catch his eye.

Abilities
(Power change)

Eli believes that life and life is the ulimate beauty. Because of this he decided to further his connection to nature and learned plant magic. He has the ability to induce plant growth and control large shrubs, grasses, and trees with his mind. He uses this mainly for insuring and trapping his opponents.

Further he has a connection to plants that allows him to almost to communicate with them. This ability allows him to sense out plants and their general status.

His powers are most potent during the day as the sun provides him energy similar to how it would a plant. During the day he has advanced regenerative healing. Small cuts and bruises are easily healed automatically by his body. During the night his powers are less powerful and he becomes a bit sluggish. He is also immune to most poisons.

He is a skilled painter, gardner and has a vast knowledge on all plant life.

Equipment: A sketchpad and pencils. Various herbs and seeds in pouches.

Misc: He likes patterns most of all he likes color coding. As a kid he forced his siblings to always wear the same color as him. He now does this for his various lady friends. He will also try to do this with anyone he works with.

Pale blond hair and blue eyes, delicate features--Ian looks rather boyish at times, and he does nothing to dispel that impression: it's helped him a couple of times, and he's not one to ignore an advantage. Smiles rise easily to his lips, but rarely ever reach his eyes, and he moves with a languid sense of purpose, fast only when focused and working.

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
Image

Character quote: "If you reveal your secrets to the wind, you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees."

Character theme: Walls - The Red Paintings and I Love You, I'm Going To Blow Up Your School - Mogwai

Allegiance: Black Mage

Personality: If you stripped everything from Ian but the very foundations of his personality, what you would find in the remains would be a hungry roil of curiosity and a deep, abiding thirst for knowledge. It is what has driven his every moment and breath, from the moment he was born to the day he'll die: a constant need to learn more, to dig deeper, to find something new. Nothing is too complicated, too hard, too forbidden. He will allow nothing to stop him in his quest, and as such he has no qualms about lying, cheating and otherwise forcing his way into what he wants and considers as his due. That boundless hunger for knowledge does mean he tends to take on too much at once, and he burns out very quickly, too busy with his research to eat or sleep.

He is extremely practical when working, as tends to be required when involved in work where the smallest mistake can kill you. Paradoxically, he's a bit of a dreamer on his off-time, coming up with increasingly unfeasible, crazy plans that he knows are impossible, but that he'll toy with anyway--and, if given free reign, put them into action, to rather... explosive results. That's what shielding charms are for, after all.

When pushed in a corner, he'll tend to be predictable and go for the tried-and-true methods: another reason why he dislikes being taken by surprise. He works better when given prep time, and he knows it, and can be quite vocal making sure everyone else knows it as well. Perfectionism can only go so far and he knows sometimes time is of the essence, but he'll still do his very best to get everything just so, even if it puts him in danger.

Working with volatile materials has reinforced his pre-existing tendencies for patience and meticulosity, but also made him mistrustful of people hovering around while he's working. He's a bit territorial, though not overtly so: passive-agressivity is his usual angle of approach. He can be a bit moody, but he tries not to let it affect his usually laid-back, nice behavior around others: smiling tends to yield better results, he has observed. That said, he has little tolerance for the loud, ignorant masses (or those he perceives as such), and will act very condescending and arrogant towards them, unless he just goes on to pretend they don't exist.

Character Background: From the very beginning Ian was a curious child, rather infamous in his neighborhood for constantly getting himself into crazy situations from straying too far after following some interesting phenomenon or another. He was lucky enough to come from a more or less well-off family, which allowed for a proper education that revealed how deep exactly that curious streak ran. When it was discovered he also had some capacities with magic and complex calculations, he was promptly taken under the wing of the resident alchemist, who'd been looking for an apprentice. Cue Ian sweeping through the whole of the man's quite respectably-sized library under two months (that, granted, involved very little sleep) and absorbing everything taught to him like a sponge and asking for more. There was only so much he could learn there, though, so once he was done he packed up and left in search of higher knowledge. His quest lead him to the Black Mages, and it offered him enough chances to investigate and experiment that he's stayed.

Abilities: Ian is, first and foremost, a combat-oriented alchemist, which means he's mastered basic magical concepts and moved on to alchemy proper, then to using whatever materials are at hand to fight, defend himself and blow things up. As such, he's able to hold his own in magic duelling, as long as his opponent isn't a complete powerhouse/master and he isn't outnumbered. He shows a marked preference for fire/heat/pressure-based spells, and is pretty close to mastery over shielding, especially against large-scale attacks, thanks to lots and lots of practice acquired when his own experiments took a wrong turn.

He can survive a bit of a brawl, but anything more involved or with close quarters weapons has him at a loss. He has a library of alchemical knowledge stored in his brain, and his endless thirst for knowledge lead him to learn some alchemy from other branches: healing, building... He may not be the best, but he's usually got the bare bones. Now, whether or not he's awake/coherent enough to do it properly is another matter entirely.

Good at split-second decisions when it comes to his experiments, but he can lose his cool when overwhelmed and make very unwise choices. Not that much of a team player, and he is best suited to working in the wings or to support: he doesn't have the bulk or the sheer power to hold the front.

Equipment: Chalk, a few phials of explosives and matches, plus protective gear: gloves, goggles, etc.

Misc: Prone to sketching arrays and calculations on everything at hand, from drawing them on sand or doodling them in the margins of books. He erases them as soon as he's done, but there it is. He also tends to hum when working or thinking, an unconscious habit he's never had any reason to break.

Major Work in progress.

Name: Kadence (Kade) Brahe

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
Image

Character quote: "Not to care about philosophy is to be a true philosopher."

Character theme: Aqua Rock - Motoi Sakuraba

Allegiance: Royal Guards (Alchemist)

Age: 29

Appearance: Kade stands with a structured composure at the moderate height of 5'9". Unquestionably, his most distinguishing feature is his cascade of golden hair that reaches to just below his shoulders. As a student of alchemy, he has shied away from the light of the sun in his studies and as a result has lost much of the color in his skin, leaving his facade an eerie, glowing white. Offsetting the blanched paleness of his skin is a pair of frosty blue eyes.

Kade is slender and meek and conducts most of his labor within his mind and spirit, leaving much to be desired from his muscles. However, he has a naturally strong bone-build and can take a hit or two, even to his charming face. Though some believe he feigns at times, he claims to be under a constant blanket of frigidness and thus always wears warm, armored clothing.

Personality Strengths: Kade is an analyst first and an alchemist second. In conversations, he can always find himself in the gray area and defends no one in particular during a word-fight. His strength in wordplay is trumped only by his masterful (and ahead-of-his-time) mage's play. He is quick to find a fault in an argument and will wittily exploit the flaw to raise his position in an argument. As being clever and witty, he is also cynical and believes hardly anything he is told until he has tested and found it to be true. He is a true devil's advocate.

Personality Weaknesses Perhaps he is too cynical. He has disregarded all the things he has been taught by his family and has sworn to be a self-understood and self-made man, if he can be identified as such. He thirsts for power and glory, which may ultimately be his utter downfall.

Physical/Mental Strengths: Kade is quick with both words and attacks, making speed one of his highly-valued attributes. Ever since the age of four, he's been conjuring up little rain showers to help his mother in the garden and has spent the last fifteen years of his life learning exactly what his powers can truly do. Even in an unbalanced fight against his favor, he can typically outsmart the opponent and leave them wondering how they really lost. As a pseudo-pharmaceutical healer, Kade is better at healing mortal wounds rather than mere damage.

Physical/Mental Weaknesses: While his speed and ingenuity are nearly immaculate, his brutal force leaves some to be desired. Granted, he can turn the tides of battle in his favor, but against an opponent of sheer, quick force, he may stand curious as to how to survive. Mentally, he cannot comprehend the sensation of being cold(er than he claims to constantly be) and is very stubborn regarding estranged religious beliefs of his own making. As a healer, he prefers not to bother with minor injuries, as he finds it relatively tiring to do so. More so at least than high-class injuries.

Abilities:

Storm Mage

Composition Elements: Water & Electricity

Everything from bringing forth a stream from a dry rock from which to drink to conjuring up hurricanes with much focus, Kade finds himself in the midst of often-fluctuating power. He believes, however, that the Rain Stone may give him utter control of his powers, if harnessed correctly. His current powers range from a plume of water from a hidden aquifer to a tiny raincloud capable of filling a glass of water to a hurled lightning bolt from the heavens. However, his dexterity is not yet as great as it shall be.

Character Background: Kadence was raised in an alchemist home to be a healer. His father specialized in water-based medicines and elixirs and he taught Kade everything he knew. However, as time progressed, Kade mastered potion-making and became bored with the art of pseudo-pharmacy. Therefore, as an older teenager, he began meddling in stronger magic and alchemy. After much training, he found that he had an uncanny niche for aquatic powers. After this self-discovery, he was employed by the City of Rain as the harvester of the purified water. After the theft of the Rain Stone, he was recruited by the high council of the City of Rain to lead an assembly of guards in search of the artifact.

Equipment:
1 vial of blessed water (revival water; self-made; he knows the recipe sort-of by heart, may mess up every now and then)
5 medicinal potions (self-made; he knows the recipe)
1 set of clothes (+armor, gloves, boots, coats)
1 steel staff w/ rain gem on the end.
1 leather bag (in which to carry things)

Misc: Turncoat. Don't pretend to know much of anything about Kade; don't write him as a giver of secrets or any extraneous information. He's the RG leader as recruited (and paid handsomely) by the Council and is in it for his own motives. Again, do not pretend to know these motives as you do not.

Finishing it later

Name: Chris “Topher” Keen
Role: The Kirk

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
Image

Character quote: There is nothing impossible to him who will try.

Character theme:

Allegiance: Black Mages

Age: 27

Appearance: Topher keeps an almost shaven head, with just fuzz lingering on the top of it. With even less of a beard on his face. He has a strange sort-of mutton chops on the sides of his head, shaping out to be thick golf clubs near the end. His chin is completely shaven, with another patch of fuzz for a moustache. His eyebrows stand out as a result of this, being large a bushy, even more so by the comparison.

He tends to dress semi-classy at all times, with sweater vests and ties. Everywhere he is he thinks is business, and so he dresses for the part whenever he can.

Personality: Topher is a calm man, who sits back and calculates. He is great and keeping people around him under control, he would be a natural born leader, but he likes to be in the background, in control where he can change what is needed, manipulate the surroundings, then come in and sweep away everything left, without a trace.

He has a charismatic charm that makes people sort of just follow him, and listen to him, making his chess game-like thinking a lot easier. His flaw though is the fact even though he can easily make things perfect, he pushes thing to the extreme, making perfect better, but in the end that usually back fires on him.

Character Background:
When Topher was born he was diagnosed with a mental disorder, Aspergers, From then on he was placed in the easy, special classes, never getting enough mental stimulation for his own needs. So he sought after it on his own, knowing he was trapped where he was. When alone he read, he never stopped reading, he never stopped finding more. When he couldn't do that he thought, making mental exercises. But still, no matter how much he learned, no matter how much he rose intellectually above the 'normal' people around him, he was looked down upon. As soon as realized he could not escape, he embraced it, using it to his advantage, taking those with pity and manipulating them. And from there he learned how to do what he does best.

Now Topher has shed his past away and rose above it, but he does not forget how he came to where he is. And he is grateful for everything he has.

Abilities: Topher’s magical abilities are mostly verbal and mental. His brain is overdeveloped, though his brawn is under-toned. His normal charm and charisma is amplified, transforming in enchantments, basically striping away will and taking control of people. Though, if the person has no trust in him, it is easily broken by those who do.

The other skill is that when magic aids it he brain works at an accelerated and extreme degree. Allowing him to balance and juggling multiple ideas and plans at once, and switch focus at once, allowing him to keep track of multiple scenarios and outcomes. Sort of like Sherlock Holmes.

But even the mightiest of brain can be over powered and subdued with the right amount of man power. Even if he can find the right pressure point, he is not strong enough or fast enough to act alone, and is usually the one calling orders, and not the one doing them.

Equipment: Maps and a lot of notebooks. He also keeps a healthy number of brain teasers with him, that keep his mind in shape and never slacking.

Will fill in everything as soon as I can! My computer keeps crashing and I lost all the info once already.

Name: Jaser

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
Image

Character quote: "Excellence is not a skill. It is an attitude."

Character theme:

Allegiance: Royal Guard

Age: 22

Appearance: Jaser is around 6'4", with dark hair, olive tan skin and short stubble. He always looks determined and focused, eyes emotionless [unless you count the colors], ready to fight at any given moment. His muscles are lean, not bulky, but strong all the same. His eye color varies due to his mood.

Personality: Jaser is determined and hardworking. He's nice and usually quiet, but if you get him talking he could go on forever. He has a can-do attitude and enjoys listening to soft music.
Strengths: His determination, attitude, and optimism.
Weaknesses: His clear emotions, [will think of more]

Character Background: Jaser's mother died giving birth to him. His father hated Jaser for it, therefore being very strict and very harsh with him, and always used Jaser's clear emotions against him. As a result, Jaser had to learn to control his emotions. Throughout his childhood, Jaser tried to make his father proud of him, practicing mind control on animals and working out/hunting daily to improve his fighting skills. He eventually joined the royal guards.

Normally his eyes are blue, being calm, or green, being normal. Before or during a fight his eyes are either red or orange. Most other colors are an indication that something is up.

Abilities: He can read minds, send thoughts, and control minds. His eyes work pretty much like a mood ring, and change colors depending on his mood.
Spoiler! :
Image

Strengths: He can get information out of pretty much anybody and get them to do most of whatever he wants. His mood-eyes save him the trouble of telling people if something is up or not.
Weaknesses: He can't hold onto one mind for very long, the time ranging from one minute to ten, depending on the strength of one person's spirit. He can't make them do too much or he'll grow exhausted. He has to use his mind control sparingly. As for the mood-eyes, it requires more effort on his part to keep his emotions under control.

Hey guys!

Andy: Let me know if you'd like any other adjustments, just tweaked him with what you told me in mind :)

Name: Lorcan Derail
Character picture: One Two
Character quote: It isn't what you think that counts, it's what you do.
Character theme: One Two
Allegiance: Black Mages (leader)
Age: 29

Appearance: Lorcan is a wild looking man with unkempt, dark red hair and stubble on his face. His eyes are dark green and give the impression that he is lost or perhaps was never altogether there to start with. He wears black jeans, a white vest top, a black leather jacket and gothic boots. He also has a silver phoenix hanging around his neck. Lorcan is handsome in an unruly way. He has a strong chin, a very firm, masculine figure.

Personality: An unstable and unpredictable man, Lorcan is not well known by anyone and comes across as a dangerous man, somebody who you would rather not cross paths with.

Strengths: Lorcan has a lot of determination and is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. He's unselfish and will make personal sacrifices for the greater good but has a very warped view of what that is and expects others to do the same. He's a loyal and very stubborn person who won't let a good man die for no reason. He also has a soft spot for children.
Weaknesses: There's something broken in Lorcan. He's a good man pushed to desperate measures and though part of him holds on to his old beliefs, he's become ruthless and believes that the end justifies the means. Lorcan spends a lot of his time feeling lonely and hating himself which does nothing for his already low self esteem and makes others question his leadership abilities. He drinks and he throws himself into fights and danger because it makes him feel alive. Lorcan is unhinged and deeply troubled by his past which he carries around with him, quite literally, in the form of his dead sister. If it became a choice between saving the world or saving her, Lorcan would have little difficulty making the decision. And it wouldn't be the right one.

Character Background:There was a time when Lorcan was gentle. He had a younger sister, Circa, and he couldn't save her. He was too weak, too unaware of evil. Naturally Lorcan blamed himself for her death and threw himself into Necromancy in the hopes of finding a way to bring her back to life. His goal led him down darker paths and right to the very pit itself. He raised her and she wasn't human and he couldn't stand the creature he'd given life to. Lorcan destroyed it. For a time after that he was empty. He felt nothing and he did nothing except drink. Then he rose, a broken but more logical man. He learned more about the dark arts and made several other attempts to raise his sister, each better than the last, each teaching him control and order. However, none gave him what he wanted.

Lorcan has dedicated his life to reviving his sister. He joined the black mages and quickly became a high ranking member, pushing his way to the top using a combination of logic and brute strength. Lorcan always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing. He was highly noticeable and the strength of his abilities was something the mages knew they could make use of. They also saw him as a man with only one ambition, a man who they could give purpose to and who would be eternally loyal should they help him in this one respect.

Abilities: Lorcan is a Necromancer and as such can raise zombies and ghouls, he can bring back the dead quite literally but not their humanity. The creatures Lorcan raises are no longer humans, they're just tortured souls with a fragment of memory set on replay. Lorcan has a moderate control over fire. These two areas are the extent of his magic.

Physically, he doesn't wield a weapon but can fight well with his hands and is resourceful. He's good at turning objects into weapons and will use his surroundings to his advantage.

Lorcan's greatest weakness lies in his own mind. He doubts himself and though a logical man, is unstable and often overcome by strong emotion. He is prone to rash, unpredictable decisions that even he doesn't understand but sticks by them through his stubborness.

Equipment: Some of the ingredients he needs for his bigger Necromancy rituals.
Misc: Lorcan is very consumed by his inward thoughts and because of this the outward world makes little impression on him. However, he feels more than he is willing to admit for these other misfits. Without meaning to, Lorcan has grown comfortable with them and in time they might even awaken parts of his old self.

Name: Aislinn Radell

Character picture: http://images.buycostumes.com/mgen/merchandiser/20612.jpg

Character quote: Life is cruel and unfair, my friends, and that is fact.

Character theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcKha_9spIc

Allegiance: Black Mages

Age: 22

Appearance: Aislinn has long unruly auburn hair that is always falling in her face, yet she never seems to pull it up. Her peircing green eyes are like daggers and act as her only emotional give away. She has a narrow nose, comlimented by dark red lips and a beauty mark on her right cheekbone. Dresses, skirts, and gowns are some things you would never catch Aislinn wearing, ever. She mostly prefers full length pants and long sleeved shirts, even in the hottest of weather. They hide the burn scars on her arms and legs.

Personality: Aislinn isn't usually one to look pick a fight, but that doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy them. She enjoys finds peace in being alone, though she understands that being social has it's advantages. Loud people annoy her, she prefers to be around quiet people. She likes to know other people's opinions, but she is very narrow-minded and can be stubborn. In the end she usually ends up sticking with her gut, throwing away any other options but her own. She enjoys the occasional joke, if it is actually funny.

Strengths - She has a quick mind and is good in stressful situations. Aislinn has a high pain tolerance, she has trained herself not think about it, therefore not feel it. She knows basic wound dressing skills.

Weaknesses - She hates to cry, she feels it is a sign of weakness. She is usually pretty good at keeping her emotions bottled up, but there are a few things that break the dam. She is unable to talk about the death of her family, especially her little brother, it is one of the few things able to make her breakdown. The burns on her arms, hands, and feet were of the third degree, leaving her with permanent nerve damage. She has dull if any feeling on the surface of her skin.

Character Background: On one day, her life was good, Aislinn had everything handed to her on a silver platter. Her parents showered her and her little brother, Zane, with love and gifts, got them the best schooling possible, they even hired private magic tutors. Next thing she knew, it was gone. She awoke mid-morning to a blistering heat and the smell of smoke, the house was on fire. She leapt from her bed and ran down the hall, unaware of the flames chasing her. By the time she had gotten to Zanes room a wall of fire had already formed in front of the door. Even that couldn't stop her. She flug open the door, ignoring the searing pain shooting through her arms and legs. Her brother was sitting in the corner, crying as an 8 year old should. She ushered him out the window and followed him close behind. They scrambled down the wall using the ivy as a rope, but Zane's hand were to burnt and he couldn't hold on, he lost his grip and fell to the ground with one last cry.
Near by neighbor's had seen the flames and come to help. They found a soot streaked Aislinn crying over the crumpled body of Zane, they were too late, her home and her parents had perished. Aislinn spent two months in the hospital, her arms, legs, and hand were severely burned and there was nerve damage. Her 18th birthday passed while she was in the hospital, as soon as she was released she was responsible for herself. She spent three years jumping around, never staying in the same place very long. When she was 21 she came across the BMs, she followed them since.

Abilities: Aislinn is a Earth Mage. She has the ability to manipulate the natural disasters, plants, and well, dirt. She is also fairly skilled in close-range combat, long-range not so much.

Equipment: A few vials of purified rainwater and an old, battered revolver

Reserving a spot for one of the townsfolk. Will try and finish profile by tonight. >.>

Name: Learana (Rana) Rothin

Character picture: (none)

Character quote: "If you would just hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much."

Character theme: しねばいいのに

Allegiance: Townsfolk

Age: 23

Appearance: Rana is fairly tanned, with streaks of her chestnut-brown hair bleached blonde by the sun, as she enjoys spending most of her time outdoors. Rana is very fond of bright pinks and sky blues, and so her clothes, which are functional but flattering, often are of those colors. She usually keeps her shoulder-length hair tied up in a ponytail with a bright pink ribbon.

Rana is of slight, wiry build, though she is by no means skinny. She is of middling height, leaning towards the shorter side of the spectrum, which is only inconvenient when she has to reach for things in high places.

Personality: Rana is a rather cheerful and optimistic person who enjoys being useful. She is happiest when busy with a challenging task, especially one only she can perform. She is no workaholic, however, and does enjoy taking time off to take walks in the desert or through town to see the sights and talk to the folks. Never one to pass up an opportunity, Rana tends to either find fun or go out and make some, though more often than not, a bit of mischief is part of the bargain. Although not willfully malicious, sometimes Rana can get carried away with her pranks...

Character Background: Rana was born and raised in the town, with her mother a seamstress and her father a maintenance worker on the collectors. She spent most of her childhood either helping her mother with the sewing or tagging along with her father to watch him work. As she grew older, Rana realized that she didn't want make her living off either of those occupations, and so she began studying under the local doctor, who was a friend of the family. She enjoys assisting the doctor and has been studying basic medicine for the past few years.

Abilities: Rana is currently learning basic medicine, which is helped by her natural healing magic. She can treat most common aliments with her magic with ease, though she prefers to use medicines and items as magical healing tires her easily. More serious injuries, such as gaping wounds or internal bleeding, are out of her league.

Rana also has some knowledge of how the rain collectors work, but only as far as basic maintenance, and a familiarity with the desert around the town. She knows the location of and has visited most of the ruins within three days travel of the town. Beyond that, however, her knowledge is limited to hearsay and what she remembers of the maps she's seen.

Equipment: When around town, Rana travels light: all she'll typically carry with her is a medium-sized basket and a small purse with just enough for groceries or a small treat. She keeps a cabinet in her house well-stocked with medical supplies, with a spare bed in a spare room always available. Should the need arise, Rana also has a bag stocked with bandages, disinfectant, and some medicines for common ailments ready to go.

Misc: Rana loves the color pink. Loves it. Loves it so much that, if she could, everything she'd own would primarily be a shade of pink (the brighter, the better).

Name: Laenaya Sevriens

Character picture:
Spoiler! :
Laenaya.jpg
Laenaya.jpg (194.88 KiB) Viewed 722 times

Character quote:

“Well, we have something in common. I have a dysfunctional family too.”
“Never mind what haters say, ignore them till they fade away.”

Character theme: Kill Bill- Battle Without Honour or Humanity, White Stripes- Seven Nation Army

Allegiance: Royal Guards

Age: 24

Appearance: Laenaya is a slender woman that has dark black hair, slightly over shoulder length dark and dark brown eyes that she often wears mild mascara over. When she is practicing the Dark Arts, she wears mainly plain black robes. In her free time however, she prefers to dress up in tomboyish outfits, like white tank tops, belts and jeans. Also tends to wear old amulets and necklaces which have been passed down from generation to generation.

Personality: Strengths: Laenaya is a pensive and formidable person. She has a high opinion of herself and is difficult to be swayed by the opinion of others. Yet, she remains laid back and cool, letting anyone that dares cross paths with her be laid to waste. She is willing to work hard for what she believes in, and rarely ever complains or moans when faced with a difficult challenge. In fact, she relishes in it.

Weaknesses: Laenaya has very little compassion or consideration for those that she feels are unworthy and weak. She can be an abrasive and smug person, making witty remarks and retorts whenever the opportunity arises. She only helps people if it is of some benefit to her or if she feels that it’s worth her time. She prefers to do things first, ask questions later. Because of this lack of patience, he can sometimes come off rather aggravated and impatient. He also doesn’t like it when people do not get to the point, so he tends to ignore the more subtle details of a task, a piece of information or whatever someone tells him. Her stubbornness and pride is perhaps the reason why she hasn’t returned to her shady family and alliance in Palmecia, and why her intentions seem fickle to others.

Character Background: Laenaya’s family is part of a large crime family in Palmecia, involved in loan sharking, corruption of public officials, fraud and racketeering. Her Father is a caporegime, a ruthless and cruel man that’s obsessed with wealth and power and a strong supporter of the dictator’s belief for blood purity. Her relationship with her Father and the rest of the Sevriens family was antagonistic, even from a young age. In her teen years, Laenaya grew increasingly rebellious, flaunting her disdain for their pure-blood beliefs and violent ways. She has even deemed them as being weak, for they seem to only care about power and carrying out their masters’ wishes.

At the age of sixteen, Laenaya decided she had enough and left the family to go live with her uncle and aunt in Lindblum. In turn, her Father had disowned her and labeled her as a family traitor and a disgrace.

Her aunt and uncle were much kinder to Laenaya, though they were quirky and had oddball beliefs. Their main occupation is fishing, and one of their favorite places to fish is in a secret lake in Dolen where excess enchanted rain water is channeled to. There, they would spend hours trying to catch the enchanted fish and selling them as miracle foods in Lindblum’s market. It’s an unstable business, but the gambling aspect of it greatly appealed to them.

They were pretty relaxed with how Laenaya decided to live her life. In her later teenage years, Laenaya was a rebel, despite doing well in wizarding school. She would often head down to the local pub with her friends and get drunk, and has engaged in sexual activity with shady individuals despite being underage.

When she was old enough, Laenaya decided to join the Royal Guards, partly because of its hectic, complex and thrilling nature, but also to help combat the corruption in her home kingdom, Palmecia.

Abilities: Laenaya is a hoodoo witch. She carries a doll around with her, which she can use to poke needles into to mentally hurt someone, provided that she also has something that belongs to that person, like a strand of their hair, or a drop of their blood to decorate the doll with to create a strong sympathetic link between the doll and the person. If this proves to be too much of a hassle for Laenaya, then she can always resort to casting hexes and curses. She also knows how to dowse for people using simply a crystal pendulum and a map of the area.

With her knowledge of herbology, Laenaya can brew poisons which she can use to spike a person’s food or drink, or to dip the tip of her daggers into.

She is also proficient with daggers and carries a set of them beneath her belt. She is able to use them as a melee weapon or as a projectile.

Equipment: A wand, casks containing herbs, a vial, a set of daggers, a crystal pendulum and a voodoo doll (needles included).

Misc: Laenaya enjoys the humiliation of others, so she can come out rather cocky and insulting at times. There is also an erotic side to Laenaya. She likes men and can be promiscuous, but seldom does she find something that she thinks is worthy. If you think your character can please her, then go for it. But be warned. She bites.

Feel free to start now guys. The Royal Guards start in the town (they are about to start the search) whereas the Black Mages are on the outskirts of the town, frantically packing up and about to disappear off into the desert.

Dragonet: Try to join ASAP lol.

And whatever you do, do not split up! (not just yet anyways).
