Jack

Jack looked up when she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. "Someone's just come up here!"

Her mother glanced to the side, noticing the girl as well. "Well, dear there are many people who come up here.

"Yes, I know that Mother. I'll be back in a second," Jack stood and walked over to the girl. "Excuse me, but what are you doing here? Is there something or someone you're looking for?"

Erika

She was breathing heavily, somewhat exasperated.

"I don't really know," Erika said. "I sort of found this place by accident."

The girl rolled her eyes and waited for a detailed explanation. Erika sighed. What a rich little brat. "I'm looking for my mother," she said simply.

Bianca "Marie" Cheshire

The top level was a generally boring view from Bianca's window. Nothing much happened. Women strolled around amongst large fake trees that lined the light-weight fake cobblestone roads. Fake flowers filled flowerpots, and other fake materials made up the rest of their lives. Everything on Cloud Nine was fake. Even the air was brought in from outside into the works, syphoned through some machine - in other words, made fake - and expelled through the giant ship.

Needless to say, Bianca despised the unreality of it all. Or at least the unreality of the top level. When she was anywhere else, the world seemed a little more real. Maybe it was just something about the top level. There was no need to worry about upkeep when everything was fake. She wondered what in the world they possibly made everything out of.

A group of men wandered down the road. Bianca's father was among them. She knew them well, they were her fathers Handler associates. Bianca grimaced as she watched them walk to her own front door and thought about the room in the 'basement' that she wasn't allowed into.

She had been there once; promptly deciding never to go again. It was where father kept his...his subjects as he liked to call them. He had some sick pleasure in being a Handler, more than the men he associated with. Bianca didn't think they knew about his room in the basement.

A chill ran down her spine, thinking of the people locked down their. None of them knew they weren't living, at least not truly living, none of them knew what was being taken from them.

Bianca sighed. "I hate my father, and have nothing to do about it," she whispered, resting her head on the glass of her window.

Jack

Jack looked at the girl, she was gasping for breath and said something about her mother, "Do you know where she would be?"

"No, if I did then I wouldn't be up here would I?" the gril snapped.

"Oh, well maybe I can help you," Jack looked back at her mother, she was still fixing her make-up and her hair. Then she looked back at the girl.

Jack stepped down and turned to her, "I'm Jack," she said as she extended her hand.

Austin

He had sat down in one of the chairs that was still available. He opened the book and started reading.
----
"Your Highness."

Austin looked up he had gotten about a quarter of the way through the book, "Yes, what is it Jeeves?"

"Your father is looking for you," Jeeves, the couselor replied, bowing low.

"Ah, yes thank you," Austin closed the book and stood up and walked out of the library, heading toward his father's study. "You wanted to see me father?"

"Yes, my boy. I need you to see how our workers are doing. We haven't checked on them in awhile and we need to make sure everything is running smoothly," the King replied. He hadn't looked up once, but continued reading and writing his notes. He didn't say another word.

Austin bowed and exited the room. Heading toward his own rooms. "Another day, another duty."

Erika

Erika paused for a minute before shaking the girl's hand. She seemed a bit too friendly; more so then she would have expected someone to act on the first level of the blimp.

She paused at the girl's name. "Jack? Is that short for-"

"Jacquie?" Jack laughed. "Yeah. Call me Jack though."

"I'm Erika," she said, "Can you really help me? I don't know how I would ever repay you if you did."

Jack

"Oh, don't worry about it. I do this because I want to," Jack assured her. "You will have no need to repay me."

"Really?" Erika asked, skeptical.

"Really. I've done this sort if thing many times before, but we must hurry if you want to find your mother," Jack motioned to Erika to stand behind her. "Now how would you like to go about this?"

"What?" Erika asked.

"What would you like to be your cover story, just in case we are stopped," Jack looked behind her, her mother had finished with her hair and make-up by now and was looking in the direction of the stairs. "And do hurry, because I believe that my mother is headed this way."

**Hey Lauren, there wasn't any plastic in Victorian times. Metal and glass, yes, but no plastic. Would you mind changing that please? Thanks! And if Bolt doesn't post soon, does someone mind taking over his character until he does?**

Erika

"Oh, I don't know!" said Erika, trying to be quiet. "Maybe I was out late and my home is now abandoned?"

Jack shook with disapproval. "It sounds a bit far-fetched," Jack said, "But hey, it's better then nothing. Come on, before my mom sees us." She yanked Erika's arm and the two walked as far as they could along the path.

"I suppose we could look and see if they know anyone with the last name Lily."

*Good idea*

Jack

Jack walked down the path, not really caring where they were headed, but kept walking none the less. She noticed someone walking towards them and turned her head to Erika, "Do you want to ask them?"

Erika zeroed in on the woman, Jack saw something flash in her eyes, but ignored it. The woman was almost upon them now.

Jack straightened and picked up her shoulders. "Ma'am would you have per chance seen or talked to a woman with the last name of Lily lately?"

The woman looked at Jack then at Erika and her eyes widened just a bit before returning to normal. "Why, no I haven't had the pleasure of talking to someone of that name. Why do you ask?"

Jack didn't want to do everything for Erika, so she looked back at her and motioned with her head. "Go on."

Erika Lily

"Well," said Erika softly, "I'm looking for my mother...but..." She faded, beginning to shake with nervousness as she realized that she didn't know her mother's true first name. She tried not to cry. What was she even doing up her, anyway? Shouldn't she have realized that she'd never find her. "It's alright, thanks for your time."

Her face turned red and she gestured for Jack to come forward. They kept on the path, but everyone seemed to be pent up in their houses.

"Why is everyone inside today?"

"I don't know," Jack replied, "But...we better go ahead and turn the other way..."

"Why?"

Jack slapped Erika's shoulder and got her to turn around. There were two police officers walking toward them. How did they find her? They must have noticed Erika's ragged dress and suspected that she was out of place.

"Hello, young ladies, how has your day been?" one of the officers asked.

The two whispered a half-hearted, nervous, "good". Erika looked toward Jack. How are we going to get of this? she mouthed.

Jack

Jack looked at Erika and saw her mouth How are we going to get out of this? Jack honestly had no idea what to do. But she had learned from her mother well. She squared her shoulders and looked one of the officers in the eye and said, "If you'll excuse us, my lady's maid and I would like to go back to my chambers."

Jack looked over at Erika and nodded at her, Jack then turned back to the officers. She motioned to them and they looked at each other and smiled, then parted on either side and let Jack walk through, but came back together before Erika could get through.

Jack glanced back to see Erika stopped, "Excuse me, but you need to let her pass."

One of the officers looked at her. "Oh, excuse us Miss Boleyn, but she doesn't belong here."

"She is my lady's maid, of course she does," Jack looked at Erika, her eyes were big and she looked scared. Jack just looked back at her and shook her head, she had no idea what to do. I'm sorry.

Erika Lily

Erika wasn't mad at Jack. Rather, she was angry at herself for letting her curiosity get the best of her and wandering up here. She had jumped at the opportunity to find her mother, to speak to her . . . but that was looking bleak now. Erika didn't know how old her mother was when she was born. Twenty seven years later, would she still be alive? She waved toward Jack, and mouth a fond Go. I deserve it. Thanks for all your help.

Jack hesitated, and Erika had to resist yelling at her to go. She let the police handcuff her.

"So," one of them said when she was gone, "Why are you here? You're not Miss Boleyn's lady maid."

Erika decided that she could still try at her story she had fabricated with Jack earlier. "I was out late the night before this one . . . that's why my dress is ragged. I'm lost now, my home is destroyed."

The police officers stared at each other. Erika knew instantly that they didn't believe her story. She sighed. It was at least worth a try.

"A liar and an intruder," the police officer said, "Let's take you to the King. We can see what he thinks of you."

Erika gulped and tried as best as possible to remain motionless.

Austin

Austin was getting ready to go out when two officers, escorting a girl in a tattered dress with blonde hair went by him. He was intriguied as to what was going on. "Hello, and what is all this now?"

"Excuse us, your Highness, but we caught this girl lurking where she wasn't supposed to be and we are taking her to the king for him to decide her fate," one of the officers replied.

"Oh, well, then I will accompany you then, because I must talk to my father," Austin had no idea why he had just said that, but it had already come out.

The officers nodded and waited for Austin to step around them and then followed him into the king's study.

*I thought, that I 'd help you get there and this will also get Austin in another person's post.*

Jack

Jack had stood on the path as the officers had taken Erika away, she wished that she could have helped her more, but she had no authority, even as the fiancé to the crown prince.
