Zodiac

The Zodiac signs had been something of a strange mystery. For centuries upon centuries, 12 random people would be cursed with an animal, reflecting the spirit within them. During their lives, the creatures would search desperately for the key to freedom so that they may no longer become these animals. That they could be free of the vengeful spirits within them.

For the spirits brought with them terrible responsibility. Each would transform during times of weakness, taking the shape and form of the creature in which possessed them. This brought with it ideals of witchcraft during periods where such things were seen as untolerable. Even in the present day, such a strange transformation would be seen as untolerale so the secret had to be kept hidden at all costs.

The idea being based off of a manga series, this story is about the kindred spirits who find eachother after finding themselves when the vengeful spirits take hold of their bodies. Through friendship and bonding, chaos and anger, absurdity and truth can they find the key to relinquishing the animals within them to become normal human beings.

In the chaotic mess that is New York City, these 12 shall meet. How they meet and come upon themselves is the task that is up to you .

Rules

~No sexual content. Love is acceptable within or outside of the 12.
~Lets keep the posts in proper grammar.
~Mild swearing is allowed but lets try to keep the bigger ones to a minimum.

Name: Sawyer, Jonah

Age: 18

He has blonde hair and fierce, cat-like eyes, the colour of clouds. His skin is dusky and golden, and his body is lithe but muscular. He stands at 6'2 with an intimidating stature even thought his body was skinnier than what was seen as regular.

Personality:

Stong willed and strong tempered. Jonah has a thick head and is often lead into stupid and rather mundane problems due to his unbreakable will. Although not always right, he will fight for what he believes and with every ounce he has. He is aggressive, but because he is smaller in body mass, he finds himself handicapped. Rather than accepting this fact, he makes himself larger in his stance to be as intimidating as possible. He is also very graceful with his movements and speech and knows how to play the political game. He also likes to sleep... a lot.

History:

Jonah was born to a normal middle-classed family. His mother had been strangely disturbed by his condition but had adapted the best she could. His father had been more accepting, trying his best to make things as easy on Jonah as he could.

Jonah had known these things about his parents and quickly began to resent himself for it, hating that he had to be like that. That he had to make their lives more difficult. He grew to hate himself soon enough and decided, after many years of struggling to keep his body human, he decided it was best to leave. To find a way to fix whatever was wrong with him. He thought New York would be a good start seeing as many lived there. Hoping for answers he never got, he entered into a whole new world.

Appearance: Dyed red shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. Originally a dark auburn hair color. Semi-muscular, though skinny. 5'9 EDIT: Dresses punk/emoish.

Personality: Normally quiet unless she knows someone well. Unafraid to voice her own opinions, even if it leads to a bad situation. Nice to people she knows, but not the most polite.



History: Lived with her mother and her step-father until they agreed to let her move to New York. She thought her step-father was her true father for several years until she was told the truth from her mother, but she still considers him her father. Dated once or twice, but never got far into dating. She finished high-school early due to her skipping 5th grade.

She decided she needed to get away and move to New York after discovering there was something off or wrong with her, and had previously attempted to cover up or make excuses for it to keep it from her parents.

Adam's hair is a bit more reddish tinged though, and he has a couple of these kind of hair streaks in his hair. Adam loves colour and sparkles.

Adam is tall and lanky, and usually wears designer clothing, but the clothing is never missing colour. For example; he may wear bright rainbow pants, but you can be certain that they cost almost insane amount of money. He loves luxury. He has a certain smell to him, it is almost like a spice smell, but it warmer and has the soft scent of apples. His appearance is always flamboyant, especially his hair and he loves to seem different than anyone else. He loves sparkles and jewellery, so he wears very expensive items like diamond watches, and diamond rings. And he wears one necklace always, and it is one a gold chain but you never see what is fastened to it because it is always tucked into his shirt. He is very good looking despite his eccentric hair and clothing choice.

He has a beautiful great dane named Rosaline, and she always wears a bright red collar.

Personality:
Adam is bisexual, but he is subtle with the evidence that he is. Like he does wear fashionable clothing and rainbow colours, but he doesn't ever really hit on people often. He is a normal person in that sense.

Adam's personality matches his wardrobe though. He is flamboyant, over enthusiastic, melodramatic, and has a very serious case of sarcasm. He is incredibly vain and is always worry about what he looks like, so you will get those random statements like: "Oh dear, this better not ruin my hair." He is very confident in himself and certainly knows his capabilities. He is far from timid, and is quite cocky if you get what I am saying. Some people have thought that his animal would have been better off as a peacock and not a rooster. He is incredibly loud and if he has an opinion, you will certainly know.

He acts like a best friend to everyone, and doesn't want anyone to hate him, but sometimes his enthusiasm can get a bit annoying.

Rosaline is a happy dog and loves her master very much, though in the beginning she is timid of any males. She warms up to females easier. She loves to be near someone and has to have attention at all times. She is obedient to a fault though.

History:
His father and mother were incredibly rich, the amount of money they had was somewhere in the billions. His father did amazing in investing in the market and his mother just stayed home in their mansion on a large property close to New Orleans. Adam was born weak and they were unsure if he was even going to be able to live, and after the first week, his first transformation came. His mother thought him a monster, a beast, so she pushed him away from her. She wanted nothing to do with him. His father didn't care about him, and ignored him. Nothing really mattered except working the markets to build on their fortune. Though they had tried, they were never able to have another child. The mother went crazy knowing that the only offspring she ever had was a monster.

Adam grew up in the night clubs of New Orleans, making friends with many of the bar owners and helping out whenever he could. The frequents to the clubs new him by name and called to him when he walked down the street. Adam loved the dance clubs, the raves. He loved the vibrant colours and he loved how everyone was different, and soon he became like one of those kind of people. His parents didn't care. He frequents fashion shows around the world and is known by many fashion designers.

Adam, in the mask of grandeur and night parties, he had forgotten who he really was. He didn't remember who he once was, and when he realized this, he was scared and confused. He traveled to New York to make a life for himself or at least try to find out who he really is.

Other:
Adam has a boyfriend who is a singer in an underground band. His name is Caleb and is definitely not as eccentric as Adam is. He is jut solid brown hair, a bit shaggy but has brilliant ice blue eyes. He also has a gorgeous smile. I may have a couple posts with him here or there. Though, as I have said before, Adam is bisexual so if any of you actually want to have a romance with this guy, PM me, but I doubt anybody is going to want this guy. xDD

Appearance: She has short very layered blonde hair with natural burnt sienna highlights. She piercing emerald green eyes. She's tall and willowy with a dancers build. She has small pointy features. She wears black all the time. Usually black leggings, black boots, a black tank top and when necessary a black hoodie.
History: She was born in a trailer park with her ex-hippie parents. Her parents knew about her "condition" and excepted it with open arms, declaring it groovy and totally awesome. They basically treated her like a pet snake until she was old enough to tell them she was a human girl. Her parents treated her like she was not only physically, but mentally disabled, so they put her in a slower school. She, frustrated and upset, ran away to New York City where she is a freelance artist.

History: She was born in a trailer park with her ex-hippie parents Keenak and Cassiopia. Her parents knew about her "condition" and excepted it with open arms, declaring it groovy and totally awesome. They basically treated her like a pet snake until she was old enough to tell them she was a human girl. Her parents treated her like she was not only physically, but mentally disabled, so they put her in a slower school. She, frustrated and upset, ran away to New York City where she is a freelance artist.

Personality: She's talks a lot. She's very creative, very blunt and honest to the point that it's a flaw. She is defiant and independent but always ready with a smile to get her through hard parts. She's really into art, so she's the open-minded artistic type. When she wants to she can lie extremely well and is usually one to blend into shadows. She's not that great at book learning but she is very clever and cunning.

Name: Joshua Brooks

Appearance: Light brown hair and eyes. Wiry, stands at 5'10". Usually wearing jeans and a t-shirt, unless he's working.
Personality: Resourceful, a bit mischievous. Charismatic. Kind-hearted. He doesn't focus much on his own problems.
History: Josh Brooks was born in Texas to a fairly wealthy family. They had no idea what to make of his condition however and had numerous researchers hired to figure out what was wrong with him. Brooks got sort of tired of everyone trying to fix him and left for college as soon as he graduated from high school. He is now working as a waiter at a restaurant in New York and working on a degree in biology.

Appearance: Vera has long enchantress style orange-brown hair and deep green eyes. The bridge of her nose is coated in freckles just stopping right above her lovely smile. Her skin is ivory, and tans quite nicely. She has long runners legs and a toned body.



Personality: A bit of an annoyed type. She is quiet to newcomers and cold to those who try to get under her skin. She is a nice person but doesn't understand the need to have the cat zodiac if it's not actually in the cycle to begin with. She however, despite being annoyed by this herself, gets under other people's skin being able to read them like a book. She, like a cat, likes to play with things she finds interesting including people.


History: Vera's parents (as soon as they found out) never looked at their daughter the same way. At the age of three her father walked out on her and her mother and at the age of eight Vera accidentally witnessed his mother's suicide. After that she was taken in by her kindly grandmother who attempted to understand the young vera, whom she could not embrace because she would turn into an orange tabby.

short dark hair, eyes like the sea normally a dark, almost black, blue. They turn cerulean when he is angry or excited.

personality- A bit of a lone wolf, Troy comes off as cold at first. But he's just very intense, both cool headed and hot tempered. He's one of those who feels deeply about everything, but he still keeps his emotions under iron control. Stubborn, prideful, and independant, Troy goes his own way. Although most people believe he's amoral, their is a line that he will absolutely never cross.
history- Troy is a military brat. As a child he and his father moved constantly, each time his father was transferred to a distant base. When he was eleven his father was sent overseas, on a covert operation. He didn't come back. On the record Troy's father was listed as MIA, but the truth was covered up, and they didn't even give Troy a body to bury.
After that Troy was sent into the foster system, where he promptly ran away. He's been living on the streets ever since. Using the skills his father taught him to survive. He started shifting as a child, and he and his father went through hell trying to keep a dragon secret on a military base.
Troy wants to be normal again, human. But more then anything he wants to know the truth about what happened to his father, if he'd dead or maybe, just maybe, still alive.
