The Origin of the House of Norovir:
It is said that the origin of the Elven lines dates back as far as earthen memory, as the Eternal Houses have laid claim to they're titles and lands since time immemorial. Thus it is that we come to the House of Norovir.

When the sands of time still ebbed and flowed easily, and the shores of this land were still forming from the eternal sea, and before the human barbarians ever walked upright, the Elves sailed to this shore, from the Eternal Island, the Ever-Shore, Ildrai'itha, where the Gods themselves were said to dwell.

They settled the width and breadth of the land in their various clans, carving themselves out their own regions and realms on the pristine face of the land.

The forebear of the House of Norovir was an Elf by the name of Ilsha'ana. Ilsha'ana was the cheiftan of his clan of Elves, settling in the pristine south of the land. Unfortunately, Ilsha'ana's wife had died, and she had bore him no heirs. One day the Goddess Isha saw Ilsha'ana sitting beside a still pool at the base of a mountain. She called to him, asking her what was the matter, and he replied that he had no heir, and that should he die in this new land, his people would need a leader. Isha replied that he should fear and weep not, for he would have an heir. He asked her how, for he had no wife, and she bade him lay with her. And the Goddess Isha bore Ilsha'ana his first, and only, son, and she named him Ishaniman, Beloved of Isha.

After Ilsha'ana's death, Ishaniman ascended to the throne in his place and began to strengthen his fathers' realm. He built a majestic city at the spot where Isha had first appeared to his father. This city later became Tor Arcana. Ishaniman had many wives, but his favorite was Elthariae, with whom he had his first son and heir, Elthrendir.

After his fathers' eventual death, for yes, Elves do die, their lives just naturally are so long they seem to be immortal to those who aren't elves. So, after his fathers' death, Elthrendir ascended the throne and began to finish and expand his fathers' work. He finished building the great citadel at Tor Arcana, and he began to wage wars on neighboring tribes, in order to unite them all under his banner. He was vastly successful, adding all the southern tribes to his fledgling empire. He had two sons, the first, Il'maniar, fell in battle adding the Draicca clan, who would one day sever and become the Drow, to the Empire, the second, Eldariae, meaning son of the Elves, became the heir to the throne.

When Eldariae ascended the throne, the Human Barbarians were becoming aware of themselves and their environments, and Eldariae sent emissaries to the Humans to give them gifts of knowledge, fire, and magic. Things he thought they could use as the Elves had for millenia, and thought he would be remembered as a generous hero. Instead, he is now known as Eldariae the foolish. His son, Valendrir, ascended the throne after him. Three consecutive generations of peace and prosperity followed. In the third generation, during the reign of Alraian the Noble, the Draicca tribe revolted against his kingship, and attempted to overthrow him, throwing the entire earth into civil war. Massive devastation was brought on both sides, as well as to Humans and Dwarves. Alraian was slain in battle just after delivering the coup d'grace to Khrajar, the Cheiftan of the Draicca tribe, and expelled them to the depths of the underworld, effectively creating the Drow. His son was Vairunir.

Vairunir spent his entire lifetime rebuilding after the civil war, and attempting to bring the Elven Empire back to its former glory. He succeeded in rebuilding the damage, and thing got back to more or less teh way they were before, but its former glory was never reached in his time on the throne. His son was Elrandir.

Elrandir spent his lifetime finishing his fathers' work. He was the first Elven king to have to deal with serious threats from the Dwarves and Humans. Late in his life, a preistess of Isha delivered him the devastating prophecy that one of his house would be usurped, cut down in cold blood. Following the murder, his lands would be in dissaray and chaos for 600 years, after which time an heir would arise once again and reclaim his rightful place, reuinify the Elven Kingdoms, and restore it to its former glory. The Elf to do this task would be called "Vaeruna", "The Chosen One".

Ten generations later, Ithrandir, Valin's father, was murdered in their own keep in the stronghold of Tor Arcana, by treasonous Elves and members of The Preisthood. Valin Norovir, his infant son, was destined to become the Vaeruna.

A small but significant note about Seraph, at the moment.

Something is different about him. He's on edge. Anxious. Nervous, even. Normally he is very calm and collected--and he always listens to his companions.

Now he seems almost dismissive of the others.

Just thought I'd point it out, if it isn't coming through in my posts.
Got YWS? I do.

Lumi: Don't you drag my donobby into this.
Lumi: He's the sweetest angel this side of hades.
