She sighs, taking off after him with surprising speed and agility.

She was closing the distance to him, as agile as he was. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see her reaching out to grab him, slowly bridging the gap between them. Deciding that speed was a losing game, he whirled around suddenly, right leg out, hoping to trip her.

He does, and her pupils seem to become slit for a moment as she hits the ground and rolls, coming back up running, though he's definitely increased the distance between them by a considerable amount. This might be a test of endurance - not speed.

Kixig looked over to Rin with a quizzical expression before it registered into his head that Rin meant they should help. "Oh! I don't know. It really isn't my place to interfere... is it?"

She hadn't intended to get involved in anything, but she often went with her gut without meaning to.

Despite his lead, Kellach realized that he didn't have nearly as much endurance as the captain. The sinking feeling in his gut told him he wouldn't make it to town. He was always more of a swimmer than a runner. And...that actually gave him an idea. As the lady that had been with the captain tried to cut in front of him, he wheeled around and made a beeline towards the ocean. There was no way he could lose there.
