~Ellie May~

This wasn't going to end, I realized as they came at us again. The woman was just laying there hopelessly. It was funny really. That was who we always were, hopeless, always the one getting the needles jabbed in our arms. I was tackled by a man, and I fought all I could to get him off of me. Anika was very worried, but I didn't have the time to tell her I was OK.

Then, a sharp pain in my side, and I looked down. He had jabbed the syringe in me. This wasn't the same medicine as the woman had. My eyes closed, and my breath slowed down. It was like going into hibernation made. I was numb, but I still had Anika. She was there, in the back of my mind, screaming. I wished she would calm down. It would all be OK.

~Ashton~

Everyone was freaking out. No one knew what was going on there but Anika, and what information she gave us was in bits and pieces. All we knew was that they had come in to the room they were in with needles, and Jakie looked as high as a kite, and now Ellie was out like a light. I was worried for her more than the others, but I loved her, so that counted for something, right?

Michel

Ellie May and Jackie were both cold to the world. I kicked him before he could get to me. It was the wrong thing to do. Before I knew it I was being escorted to a different cell. At least I knew how to get back to Ellie May and Jackie if I ever got out. The first man and the back up he had called tied my wings together then pushed a needle into my skin. I wouldn't have reacted if I could.

There was nothing I could do. Pretty soon I was out black.

~Ellie May~

I could still feel Anika there, even when I was out. She was frantically telling the others what had happened. I was going over the rout for her in my head of how we got here. I was listening more than anything for a sound that would let me know I was in danger. My muscles ached bad. It felt like I had acid in my veins, running through my system. That's what I thought they must have given us, but acid? Seriously?

But I was too doped up with whatever it was to really think strait. I couldn't even open my eyes! Anika was talking to Blaise and Kaylee and Blake. Blake was worried, though more worried for Michel than me, I guessed. Either way, they knew who we were, and that was the biggest leap for her yet sense the day she turned me in.

But I loved her, any way it went. She was my sister, and despite the things she did, she would always be counted as a sister to me. I'd tell her this, but I knew I couldn't do it without breaking down again. And besides, I had a feeling she already knew this.

Blake

After we'd gotten all the information we could from Anika I strayed off and started pacing. No. No, no, no. No, no, no, no. No. This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't. Why did it seem that whenever something good happened to me something or somebody always ruined it?

They took Michel. They took Ellie. They took Jackie. The three people I cared about the most. It wasn't fair. I wished they had taken me so that at least I could help in some way. I had just made it my goal to protect Jackie and they took her. I finally had Michel, someone who cared about me as more than just the loner of the pack. And Ellie. My sister. I just got her back. Sure, it had been awkward, especially with the scientists after us, but that didn't mean I didn't love her. I did, more than anyone.

They always take away those I love most, don't they? I hated those scientists. More than ever before. If I ever saw one of them....

Jackie

When I woke up I was hazy for a while, but my mind started to clear. Everything hurt, but now it was painfully throbbing, which is only a step down from searing agony. But still, it was better nonetheless.

I stood up. Apparently Ellie and Michel had gotten a shot too, but they seemed conscious now. "Guys," I said in a raspy voice. "Guys, are you OK?"

They both looked up at me. Their eyes got really wide and their mouths hung open in shock.

"What?" I asked. Michel pointed at me. "What?! This isn't funny! What did they do to me?!" I picked up one of the empty syringes that the scientists had left. I saw my reflection is the shiny plastic. I almost screamed.

Michel isn't with you guys. I guess we could change that back ....

Kaylee:

I stood up and stalked off into the woods with a bow and arrow as if I was going hunting. When I got far enough to not be seen or heard I let myself collapse to the ground and sob. I don't know how long I cried. Minutes, hours. I cried until my eyes ran dry and I could cry no more. I should have known better. With humans around we need to always be on guard. We're on their territory now.

Wiping the dirt off of the scars on my leg I stood up and began heading back to the camp. Half way back I heard a pop and something grazed the skin of my arm. Whipping an arrow out I quickly shot it in the general direction with hard eyes.

When another pop shot off I grabbed the branch above me and pulled myself up. I kept climbing hgher and higher until I was out of sight. Then I jumped over to the next tree. Peering through the leaves I spotted someone and drew back my arrow.

Before I could shoot it someone knocked the bow and arrow from my hands and and held my hands behind my back. "Got her!"

Through clenched teeth I said "I'll give you three seconds to get off of me. One. Two. Three." On three I kicked my leg back and his legs and he breifly let go of me. Whipping around I punched him in the jaw and he fell backwards and off the tree. Turning away I closed my eyes so I wouldn't see him hit the ground.

More of the popping noises came and I flew down. I tackled the guy to the ground but he was freakishly strong and flipped me over. He threw punches to my face. Don't scream! I thought It will only ive him the satisfaction.

I managed to get a punch to his face and then quickly stood up, my dagger out in hand. I lunged at him and we fell to the ground. He clasped his hands over mine and tried to force my dagger towards my throat. I couldn't do anything because I needed all my strength to keep the knife from my throat. And that's when I let out the loudest scream that I could possibly manage. Hopefully, one of them heard.

Blaise

I heard a scream that I could recognize anywhere- Kaylee.

"Watch Anika!" I called to whoever was listening. Then I ran towards the scream. I wanted to call out but what could I call out without getting caught? Nothing... I had to find her on my own.

I ran into the clearing and saw Kaylee fighting them. "Get away from her!" I yelled.

~Ellie May~

I knew something was wrong when Anika saw Blaise run off into the forest. I knew I would put Anika in danger by ordering her to do it, but we had to work together here. Follow him, but stay hidden in the bushes. She smiled, wanting some action around here, and followed him. No one seemed to even notice. I saw as she walked through the dense forest, following her brother.

Be safe, I thought to her. I will, she promised. And I was taking her up on that promise. I didn't want her getting hurt, but she wanted to be a part of everything, this was the only way I knew to keep her involved as well as me.

Kaylee:

Blaise came into the clearing by the time the knife was just centimeters from my throat, the blade cutting into my palm.

"Get away from her!" He shouted. In a swift motions he grabbed the back of the mans shirt and tossed him aside. When the man went flying the blade ross and slashed my cheek just slightly.

Slapping my hand over it I looked over at Blaise who was now beating the hell out of the man. My hand grew sticky and wet and I felt it going through my fingers.

By the time Blaise had finally killed the man I had stood up without falling over in dizziness.

Blaise walked soundlessly over to me and brushed my hand aside, muttering something under his breath. "Blaise, I'm fine." Lifting my chin he examined my face. "The cuts deep but it'll heal fine. You're going to get a black eye too." The girly side of me took over and I tried to cover my face but Blaise blocked my hands and whispered "Your beautiful Kaylee. And now not only are you tough but you look tough too."

He enveloped me in a hug and kissed my forehead. After a few minutes I whispered "If humans know we're here we need to move."

Blaise

I nodded. "Yeah... ok. Let's go-"

I suddenly heard the sound of a rock moving. I turned. There was- oh, you're kidding me.

"Anika!" I said, looking at her incredulously. "Why did you follow me?"

"Ellie told me too," Anika said definately. I sighed.

"We really do need to go, then... one can hide, two are vulnerable, but three can be found easily..."

~Ellie May~

"Dammit!" I said out loud. It was the first thing anyone had said, and they all jumped. I looked down at the floor, mad at myself.

I had probably just gotten Anika in trouble. I hated myself already. Now I actually had a reason to hate myself.

I'm sorry, I thought. I would definitely be in more trouble than her, but I didn't care about myself so that didn't bother me too much. Michel looked at me like he knew what was wrong, but I knew he didn't. Jackie had about jumped out of her skin, and she was still shaking. I could hear her heart beating fast.

Anika

Its Ok, I don't think- my thoughts were cut off suddenly when I heard a growl echoing past the trees. "Go," I insisted. Grabbing Kaylee's hand, Blaise helped her and I walk back towards the camp.

The two were talking in low voices I couldn't hear. I wanted to get back to the camp... soon.

~Ellie May~

I wanted to say something, anything, to get her out of harms way, but I knew I would be in trouble just for putting her there. I was still going over the way in my head. Could she get here without being noticed? Maybe...

I really didn't want to put her in trouble anymore, but she seemed up for the challenge. Something to prove that she was a big girl. I sighed out loud, going over the rout slowly for her. Blaise and Kaylee didn't notice she was gone, they were talking intently. She knew this was a good thing.

I wished I was there to hold her, to take her back to camp, but we needed her now, even if Blaise thought I was crazy for putting her up to it. But she wanted to do it. I couldn't stop her, could I?

Anika

I wasn't sure about what I was doing but I had to. I left the clearing quickly and quietly, following the directions. When I was there I spotted a hole she had told me about. Crawling into it I heard voices.

Corbin~

Now the only people that were left in the camp was me, Ester, Ashton, and Caroline. "Come on," I said as I started preparing, "Lets get our weapons loaded and some food packed in bags. That way when Kaylee comes back we'll be ready to head out."

"Where's Anika?" Caroline said suddenly, looking frantically around for the child.

"You were suppose to watch her!" I told her.

"I'm sorry, I..." She looked down in shame.

"It's ok," I told her, "but we NEED to find her."

Ashton stepped forward, "I think I saw her go this way," he said thrusting a thumb behind him.

"Right, lets go then." I shoved a knife in my boot broke a thick branch off of a strong looking tree. I swung it around, testing it's balance and strength. It would come in handy.
I grabbed Ester's hand and we all headed in the direction Ashton had pointed to.
