Andol sighed, staring out the window at the village. "I don't know. It's been forever since I last interacted with humans."

"Oh, so you're not one of them?" Travien sneered accusingly. "You're not with those that kicked me out for fratenizing with humans? Interesting. And hard to believe."

Andol growled at him, standing up. His patience was wearing thin. "Listen, whelp - "

If Aurora had not been there, he probably would have proceeded to fight with Travien.

Aurora whimpered. Her eyes filled with tears. "Please not again." She begged. She had just watched Travien fight. She couldn't watch agian. Andol saw her face and backed off. She clung to Travien and cried on his shoulder. She didn't want him to hurt again. "Please don't." she begged. "Please." She sobbed.

**What? I've got an idea too...what if she falls in love with both of them? What's your idea?**

***That would be funny, too, sorta. Love triangles...hmm. My idea was that Sori finally loses her temper with both of them and slaps the crap out of them. :? But I don't know. Another idea I just got was let Andol and Sori get together. After the triangle with Aurora, of course. And in the end Andol and Travien become best friends.***

**OOh! I like that idea. But he has to fight over Aurora first. :p I think Travien should have to go do something, giving Aurora time alone with Andol. Then she is her charming dragon self. XD**

***And I will post later. Today was awful.

I've ridden her three times so far. First time, I didn't know what I was doing - because it's been seven years since I was last on a horse on my own. Second time was great; we got to trot and run around, spinning on dimes and showing off a little. This third time, which happened only an hour ago, was hell. We took her down to some trails my aunt had made earlier this year for a fourwheeler, but a couple of problems: 1) It's across the driveway from a stallion. 2) Kimmie (the horse) is in heat. 3) Aunt Angie didn't cut the limbs off the trees high enough. 4) The bareback pad - which is like a soft saddle - was not tightened right. Conclusion: I walked away from that ride with a pounding heart and scratches all over me.

Kimmie was doing fine until I rode her down there and started leading my little cousin - the grandson - around on her. She wanted to run and spin around, go to where the stallion is. I decided I would get back on her, since I have the most experience with horses out of all three of us. Well, chaos erupted. Kimmie started to run, and I snatched the reins, making her stop. We ended up doing donuts on the trail, right where all the low limbs are! So, I was getting scratched up while I was being nearly thrown off, and guess what happened next - the bareback pad slipped off Kimmie's butt and fell off!! I had to jump up and squeeze Kimmie with my knees to keep from falling off myself!!!!

I finally had to jump off her, grab the halter itself - yeah, we're not riding with a bridle; we just have clip-on reins - and lead her crazy self up the hill, back to her pasture, and walk her around a minute. I got back on her, but she didn't want to listen to me. She normally neck reins - which is like driving a car; you touch the rein to her neck and she turns away from it - but she wouldn't. I ended up having to plow rein her, where you pull her nose in the direction you want her to go. After about ten minutes of this, she finally gave in and started listening to me.

And now she is cooling off after sweating. I am sitting down, calming down after my fright of almost being thrown and tending to scratches on my arm and face, where I caught the limbs and the side of a pine.

Wow.***

Travien sighed, looking down at her as she cried. He hated seeing her upset... But this time it was his own fault. He was upsetting her, by being aggressive.

He kissed her on the top of the head. "All right," he whispered. "I'll stop. But I have to go out for now, to calm down."

She gasped, looking up at him. "W-Where are you going?"

"Just to fly around, visit Ronar. I'll be back later, I promise."

He kissed her on the forehead, easing passed her and out the door. He strode from the cabin, into the middle of the road, and thought an incantation, Diventi drago. His true form, the red-dappled dragon, exploded forth as he took flight.

Aurora held onto herself. She didn't have anyone to comfort her. She gave Andol a small smile. "Sorry...I'm rediculous..." her face screwed up. She was trying so hard not to cry. She really was. But she couldn't help herself. She was sobbing. She didn't know what else to do. She just kept sobbing. Andol looked at her shocked. She felt so bad. "Ca...can...Can I get any...anyth...anything for you?" She sobbed out.

Andol felt two strong emotions for the first time in his life: anger at Travien, for abandoning her when she needed him, and uncertainty of how to handle the situation himself.

But he did notice one thing: he could smell her hormones. They were stronger than any other woman's. They almost smelled draconic.

Something is up, he thought to himself. She mated with Travien, definately, but her own hormones should be back to normal. She shouldn't be so unstable, so...vulnerable. Unless... He did not finish that thought.

He strode haltingly toward her, holding one hand out to her. "I'm fine. You need to sit down. Come on, come sit with me." He had to put one arm behind her so he could guide her to the couch, where she plopped down in a quivering heap. He sat beside her, staring at her calmly as she finished crying.

Aurora held onto Andol. She needed someone, and he was the only one there. He was being really nice. She finally stopped crying. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean too..." She smiled shakily. "So..tell me about you." She said smiling.

He smirked softly, using his thumb to wipe a stray tear off her face.

"There's not much to say, really," he said, knowing it was a lie. His life was just too complicated, too exciting, too busy, too hard to explain in a short story. He wasn't even sure she would really listen; she seemed to have one thing on her mind: pleasing others. "But what about you? How'd you end up with Travien, of all possibilities?"

That he was curious about. An exiled dragon with a mortal girl? That was just...odd.

Aurora smiled. "He showed up outside my door badly wounded. He needed to be helped. I couldn't let him stay there with all the idiotic girls around here. They would've killed him. I took him in, tended to his cuts, and then gave him something to eat. After he was fixed up, he started hanging around me. he found out about what happened to my parents and wanted to make it right." She blushed. "We fell in love with each other along the way...he called it impressing. Even Sori said that I had impressed him and he was mine." She was still blushing. "Then Sori and Ronar got hurt and I just couldn't let anything happen to them so I fixed them up. Then you showed up." She shrugged.

Andol nodded. That made sense. He had heard of Travien's exilation, of how Ronar had kicked him out those months ago. But, then again, he hadn't know Travien was his brother until a few hours ago...

"That's...interesting," Andol snorted. "But Impression is a rare thing. Consider yourself lucky."

She smiled, blushing. Then... "You haven't Impressed yet?"

He cleared his throat. That was unexpected. "No, I haven't. I guess I just haven't met the right one."

Aurora nodded. "Yeah...they just don't fall out of thin air. But you seem nice...when you aren't being hostile. I'm sure a dragoness would love to have you as a mate."

"Perhaps." His gaze took her in. Her hazel eyes shimmered with inner joy. Her lips a light red, like rose buds. Her red curly hair wild and flowing over her shoulders.

She never considered herself beautiful. she blushed under his intense gaze. "What do you see?" she asked, curious.

He shook his head, making himself blink. "Just...You're pretty, for a mortal."

She blushed but looked at him curiously. "What does that mean?"

"I don't usually find human females pretty, much less attractive."

**********

Travien soared overhead, coasting with the air currents. But something was drawing him closer, toward the ground at the north.

Oh, yeah... he remembered. My old den.

Before he could turn around, Ronar and Sori rose from within the depression and flew up to meet him.

Coming? Ronar asked as Sori bubbled It's good to see you! I'm glad you're stopping by!

Without further ado, they escorted him back to his old home, to visit.

Aurora continued to blush. She was flattered. She wasn't used to getting compliments. She liked what he said. She sniffed and whiped her eyes. "So...is there anything I can get you?"
