“Okay, yeah, that’s cool and all, but I can do this.” And at that moment, Bo pointed out the open door and sent a strike of lightning outside with a pointing of his finger and a dramatic pose. As his finger sparked and fizzled out, he blew it, mimicking a gun.
Sebastian immediately darted over to where Bo was and studied his hand with interest, trying to figure out he had possibly transmuted that bolt without a clear transmutation circle. There wasn't any tattoos on his hand, and he didn't have gloves like Colonel Mustang. So how had he done it?
Sebastian gasped. "Did you-did you commit the taboo?"
Geist facepalmed behind him. "It's magic, idiot. You don't need one of your little transmutation circle to make stuff work. You see me do it all the time."
"You're not human," Sebastian argued, crossing his arms. "You must have a different type of alchemy. Bo just used alchemy, and I'm going to figure out how."
"It doesn't have to be alchemy in order to work," Thanatos says. "My magic uses no transmutation, no circles, and no ritual, and I bring back the dead. The limitations of what you can do, what I can do, and what Bo can do are different because we're from different worlds, but universal law doesn't change. It's close-minded and unreasonable to believe that alchemy is the only method possible in a multiverse of infinite possibilities.."

Geist looked like he was about to yell at Sebastian in protest to his comment, but Engel wisely grabbed onto him and held him back in an effort to come him down. "We come from a different world, idiot!" he protested, attempting and failing to wave his arms around with Engel still holding onto him. "The Other Place is another dimension, like I've said a hundred times already."
Bo lifted up his hands defensively. "Clearly you feel very strongly about this, but there's no need to yell. I already know I'm an idiot. Thanks for the reminder."
Artemis steps behind Thanatos as the tension rises, nervous.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Geist gave Bo an incredibly confused look. "I was talking to that guy," Geist said. "You might be an idiot but you haven't it. Sebastian's the only confirmed stupid person here."
"What he means is that he's sorry for the misunderstanding," Engel translated.
When he was sure Geist had calmed down, he let go of him and walked over to Artemis and Thanatos. He leaned down and looked her in. "Don't worry," he reassured her, "it's okay. No one is going to hurt anyone here."
Artemis steps back as he approaches, yellow gaze flickering between him and Thanatos. When the necromancer seems to be undisturbed by Engel's approach she calms down a little and lets him near, mutely nodding in response to his words.

"It's alright," Sebastian said, waving his hand to dismiss the comment and giving him a sheepish grin. "It wouldn't be a normal day if Geist and I didn't get into an argument about the existence of magic."
"It's fine," Thanatos says with a dip of his head, glancing down at Artemis who's still pretty quiet. "I suggest we turn our attention back to the mystery at hand, however."
