I walk into the resort through one of the many doors at the front, wondering at what will be inside. The decor is golden and fine and I smile noting the simularities between the patterns on the walls and the ones at my home. A small reception desk is sitting conveniently nearby and though there is nobody there I walk over anyway. Sitting on the right edge of the desk is a small book with golden pages and an engraved cover. I flip through it and notice the names scralled in italics nearly filling half of the many pages. A guest book. I smile as I notice some familiar names among the many people who have signed, then I pick up the pen adding my name (or at least the name I am using at the moment.) to the page and close the book again. Looking around I spot something that until now has been invisible to me. On the other side of the room there is a doorway leading into what seems to be an elabroately decorated resturant. A few seconds later I walk through the door. Two people already occupy one of the tables, talking to each other quietly.
I sit down at the first table I see, which convieniently happens to be in front of a large glass wall... or window that shows a brilliant view of a mountain and for a moment I just sit there in silence. A voice cuts through my thoughts and I realise someone is talking to me. I look up.
I walk into the resturant slowly smiling to myself. This place is grand. There are only three people in the resturant so far. Two people talikng over a table and another girl sitting at a table not far from them, staring off into space. I make an order and then sit myself at a table somewhere btween the other people in the resturant.
I sigh and stand, stretching my arms and legs before speaking.
"I'm going to take off," I say, "See you around, Olympian."
With that, I head out the door and don't look back.
`````````````````````````` Seth
I walk into the resort, passing by the statues of the gods without second glance, and walk towards the tables. I sit down in between the cluster of others forming and sigh, pulling my hood down. Looking around, I try to see if I know anyone from camp or from the time I'd been in Olympus. I recognize a few faces, but can't put names to them, so I look down and order something to drink instead.
I'm never what I like I'm double sided And I just can't hide I kind of like it When I make you cry 'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up Inside
One of the girls walks over to me, asking if she knows me. I swirl my drink and shrug, looking up at her. Her head is tilted slightly to the side and her expression is twisted by confusion.
"Possibly," I say, "Depends. Seth Gran, son of Athena."
I offer my hand to shake, trying to remember her name from seeing her that one time in Olympus.
I'm never what I like I'm double sided And I just can't hide I kind of like it When I make you cry 'Cause I'm twisted up, twisted up Inside
More than anything she wanted the world to be uncomplicated, for right and wrong to be as easily divided as the black and white sections of an Oreo. But the world was not a cookie. — Roshani Chokshi, Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes
