Be not afraid of greatness: some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em. Twelfth Night - William Shakespeare
Story-I'm Vetoing the 'Daughter of Artemis' thing. Sorry, but I'm very big 'Artemis is a maiden god' person. Again, I apologize.
Elena- A little more for personality please. Short profiles do annoy me! I don't want it to be hard or not fun but it still helps! Thanks!
sarabear- It's fine, I understand!
Okay guys, I need some more guys and Romans. We can start soon, but I'd like more even ratio's. Thanks for your understanding! I started my charrie- a guy AND a Roman-but I can't do it alone!
Also, direct your discussion to the finely linked DT! Don't need to clog up the forum with these notes!
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.
Name: Megane Rose Woodson "Meg", "Megs", or "Meggie"
Age: 17
Parents: Daughter of Demeter and Anthony Woodson
Appearance: Meg is around 5'3" with wavy, espresso-colored hair down to the small of her back. She looks a lot like Mila Kunis. She has tan skin and is slim but with great curves and athletic muscles. She has forest green eyes and a palm-sized birthmark in the shape of a tree (most people think it's a tattoo) on her left shoulder blade. She always wears neutral, dark colors, and rarely wears a whole lot of clothing. She's naturally beautiful, with Italian, French, and Egyptian ancestry.
Personality: Meg is outgoing and funny. She's a little ditzy and always acts on impulse. She's never fake. Meg is down-to-earth and, at times, bluntly honest. Some people think she's insensitive, stupid, and weird but she really couldn't care less. She's stubborn and kind of selfish, but she lives for the present and when she truly cares about someone, she'll do anything for them.
Likes: Meg loves the outdoors. She plays the acoustic guitar and sings (pretty well, too). She's a great dancer, with an offer to dance professionally in a company. She's graceful physically to make up for social awkwardness (it's minimal). Meg loves sports, animals, and definitely doesn't mind getting dirty.
Dislikes: She gets annoyed easily, and hates people who aren't genuine. She has a short fuse and a serious temper that contrasts her usual bubbly, funny personality. She won't be bothered with trivial things like math and current events.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Meg is strong-willed but gentle towards people. She's compassionate, with an open mind and heart and she's great at cheering people up. Sometimes she crosses lines trying to be cool or funny, and often won't back down when proved wrong. She's good with people but likes to have time to herself and is kind of lazy.
Brief history: Meg grew up with her dad in a flat in Newark, NJ. She was homeschooled most of her life and had lots of pets and her best friend and neighbor, Nate, to keep her occupied. Then Nate moved away and her dad had her enrolled in private school, but Meg soon grew so unpopular and ridiculed that her father told her the truth and brought her to the camp. She's new to camp, and though she just discovered her godly birth right, she always suspected something very weird was going on.
Up for love? Definitely. She likes boys.
Other: She's been labeled as a slut most of her life because of her skimpy wardrobe and is used to it, even though she really isn't one.
"You've gotta swim, don't let yourself sink. Just find the horizon, I promise you, it's not as far as you think. The will drag us away from our love. Just keep your head above." --Jack's Mannequin <3
Appearance: http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=Ripped% ... 8#/d1rhxpn He is basically a plain looking 17 year old. Dirty blond hair, about 6'' 4' he has almost always been the biggest kid around because of his moms side of the family. With uncles at 6'' 7' and above, who can blame him?
Personality: Alken always gives an honest attempt to be open, excited and friendly with everyone, but always ends up staying quiet unless he is with his friends. He has a terribly hard time of showing you his true feelings and you will only on very rare occasions get his true opinion of you. If your not his friend, chances are you'll have to do the friend making because he is to shy. Loves reading but has always enjoyed sports and being a part of a team, so capture the flag is naturally one of his favorite games. Doesn't really have any luck with the 'ladies'. He is always surrounded by them because he is so nice, but always put in the 'friend zone'. He is rarely alone. The only time he is alone is when he is truly angry, which is hard for other people to tell because he is so sarcastic all the time.
Brief History: Alken has enjoyed building things as long as he can remember. And since his mother put him in the scouting program when he was younger, he started playing with fire at a young age. Most people saw this and thought he was kind of a creepy kid, and he was eventually kicked out of the program. He has a hard time dealing with adults because of this and resents his dad for never being there, but who doesn't? Didn't know that he was a half blood until his mother died at age 13 and he was sent to the camp.
Up for love: Yes
Other: Cannot stand bullying. If he sees it, he attempts to put a stop to it at all costs. Just something his mother taught him that he never forgot.
Appearance: Emi has light blonde hair and sky blue eyes. She has a mischievous smile that never leaves her face. She is a lot smaller then everyone else but doesn't seem to mind.
Personality: Emi is constantly happy. She is always smiling and she is full of energy. Can be a bit mischievous at times but she makes sure to never take it to far. Emi makes friends easily and is always acting bubbly. Gets annoyed when people think that she can't do something. Believes in herself a lot, maybe a little too much. Completly self confident. Always happy with what she has.
Strenghts: Her self confidence. She believes she can do anything.
Weaknesses: Not very strong. Has a short attention span. She is unbelievably stubborn.
History: Emi lived with her mom alone in a two room apartment. They were poor so Emi didn't really get stuff but she didn't care anyway. After a while her mom told her the truth about her father. She didn't want to leave her mom but she realised that it was better if she went to camp. Emi is still slightly confused about what's going on but she just goes with it anyway.
Other: Up for love but she is very oblivious when it comes to things like that just warning you.
Personality: On the outside, Xander is nice and helpful. He's almost like a perfect representation of prince charming, cute, funny, outgoing and princely. He's chivalrous and gentlemanly when it comes to girls and always up for helping someone. That is, in public. When in private or away from the eyes of onlookers, his "off switch" is triggered and he becomes a snarky, sarcastic, and messy guy. He's actually perverted and easily angered. He doesn't give a second thought about the girls he helps, and he's extremely cocky and self centered.
Other Personalities (Likes, Dislikes, Strengths, Weaknesses): He enjoys swimming and staying out in lightning storms. Due to his father's powers over thunder and the sky, he enjoys being alone, somewhere open and clear. He enjoys sneaking out at night and looking at the stars, one reason he hates the city. His strength is his off/on switch. If he was his normal self, no one would follow him as a leader, like the son of Zeus should be expected to. He doesn't trust people well, though, which would be one of his bigger weaknesses, and he can't climb well, either. In fact, he kind of sucks at it. One more thing, he HATES showing people his weaknesses, especially to the children of Hades.
Brief History (Remember to include how they got to camp!): Xander had always known that he was a demi-god. From the age of seven he had been able to effect the weather depending on his mood, and he never got along with normal humans well. As he turned 13, he started to act differently to gain the respect of the people he despised, his "on switch" flipped more often than not. His mother realized that he wasn't acting as himself and believed that sending him to Camp Demi-God would help him lighten up and relax, being surrounded by people like him.
Up for love?: You mean, up for women? YES, though he's never actually experienced love before.
Other: He wishes to be great like his father but despises the fact that he's only half god, unlike many of his half-siblings who are full gods, although he does enjoy being at Camp Demi-God. The only people he shows his "off" switch in front of are Hades' children (too much hate to hide, I guess...)

Lynette Milliron
I blink my eyes open sleepily, squinting my eyes aganist the bright light. I push myself from my bed, a bit reluctantly. Some of the bed's were empty, their sheets rumpled and disfigured. The majority of the kids, mainly the Greeks, were still in bed. I grab a pair of shorts, and then a long-sleeved T-Shirt. Going to the bathroom to change, I examine the scars on my wrists. Even after so many years with them, adorning me like twisted jewlery, I still wasn't used to them. With a sigh, I pull on the jean shorts and thin green-blue striped long-sleeved shirt. First full day of camp- I shouldn't be depressed. The camp was, after all 'my happy place.' Once dressed, I was out of the room before you could say 'applesauce.'
The day was comfortably bright. In the Field of Mars I could hear the sound of some of the Vulcan/Heph kids setting up for tonights 'Deathball' game. Nothing like poison paint-ball to bring up the pointlessly down soul. Smiling to myself, I give one round look around the cabin area. Apollo kids were playing basketball at the courts, but at least half the kids were still asleep. Stretching out my arms, I wipe the sleep from my eyes. Suddenly someone bumps into me, catching me by suprise and jolting me backwards. Slightly annoyed, I bite my lip.
"'Scuse me?" I ask the person, taking my arms from my eyes.
*Can be anyone.*
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.
The sun made me open my eyes. Of course, the light was beautiful... but bright. I exhaled and looked around. Everyone was still sleeping. Yes! Bathroom to yourself. Hurry before they wake up and spend countless hours in the bathroom! Psh, as if I'd let them. I grabbed some clothes, a few necklaces, and makeup, then looked the bathroom door. I quickly brushed my teeth and slipped my clothes on. I leaned towards the mirror to put some eyeliner. Dad always said how pointless makeup is.
"Makeup is a waste of time, yeah right," I mimicked. I slipped on some fish net stockings and low-cut converse before putting on the chain of necklaces. Yes, it might be a bit too... wrong for the morning, but everyone will know that it's Mini from afar. I kissed myself in the mirror and walked outside.
Wow, the sun is brighter outside. I shaded myself from the sun as I walked towards the the Pavilion. I bumped into someone, but whatever. Suddenly, someone stops me in my tracks.
"'Scuse me?" she asked. I rolled my eyes and huffed, expressing my annoyance, then turned around.
"What?" I replied. "What do you want?"
"You bumped into me," she said. I stared at her expectantly.
"Yes, so?" I replied without hesitance. She arched her eyebrow.
"That's not really polite, is it?" she asked. I crossed my arms.
"Not everything I do is polite," I answered. She stared at me. I get that alot. Whenever I'm in a conversation that lasts more than 5 sentences... that's all I've got to say. I sighed.
"Fine, I'm sorry," I finally said. I inhaled, then exhaled.
"I'm Lynette," she extended her hand. I stared at it for a moment.
"Mini," I shook her hand. Lynette tilted her head.
"Like the female version of Mickey Mouse?" she asked. I rolled my eyes. I get that a lot too.
"No. M-I-N-I," I spelt out. Behind Lynette's head, I could see a boy walk out of the Athena/Minerva cabin. I caught his eye, and winked.
Mornings. Which damn god created mornings? I buried my face in my pillow to get away from the light and groaned loudly. I turned my head to look at the other beds in my cabin. No one else was awake. Reluctantly, I staggered out of bed and into the bathroom. Right I thought, Zeus' child should be a morning person.
As I stared at myself in the mirror, I realized how messily I slept. My hair was disheveled and my t-shirt was completely twisted. Man, if anyone knew about my off switch I'd be dead... I quickly yanked on some ripped jeans and a white t-shirt, throwing on a light cardigan over myself and leaving it unbuttoned. I straightened my hair so that it looked... well... like bedhead, only neater. Perfect, I smiled and winked at my refection.
Heading out of the cabin, I tried hard to switch my "on" personality. I yawned. Half-mode? Close enough. Observing my surroundings, I found that many of the Greek demi-gods were still sleeping, only a few were awake and chatting amongst themselves. I yawned again, my eyes watering. I hated mornings. My switch was completely "on" by the time I heard some bickering close by.
Two girls were arguing, although the rudeness seemed mostly one-sided. Cat fight? I thought excitedly. When I found the owners of the voices I found that it was only a few annoyed sentences being thrown back and fourth. Well it's not getting interesting... I sighed and started walking towards them.
"Excuse me?" I asked politely. "Is there a problem here?" Skillfully, I basked in my "on" mode, using a slightly concerned, but forceful voice. As they turned to look at me, I flashed a perfect smile. Oh yeah, how attractive am I? Very.

Hope this is ok! If anything is bothering you, let me know and I'll fix it
Name: Ace Masilko
Age: 16
Parents: Karen Masilko and Dionysus
Appearance: Ace is slim, 5'6", and has a pale skin tone. She likes to dress in funky, unique stuff; knee-high converse, skirt with jeans, or big head phones. And she puts thick eyeliner on her deep blue eyes. Her hair is naturally blonde, but Ace colors it ALL THE TIME. It's always dyed, different colors, but there is always purple involved. Maybe it's black with purple bangs, or brown with purple streaks. Or just complete purple. At the moment, she hasn't colored it in a LONG time (due to lack of money) and it's grown out. So the bottom half is solid purple, but the top half has grown in natural blond. Spoiler
History: Ace has been to camp before. Once, when she was ten, she went over for the summer. But she's such an in-powerful demigod that she never felt the need to go back. Monsters normally left her alone. But the thing that had the biggest impact in her life was four years ago. When Ace had a baby. She didn't want to, but she didn't have a choice. And she doesn't even know the father. It wasn't her fault and her mom was a kind and understanding mother, and still loves Ace the same. And she is a good grandmother and helps Ace raise the little boy. Ace is home-schooled and she teaches herself. Her mom is busy at work and Ace didn't want her son, Collen, to grow up with a simple babysitter, so when she got into high school, she dropped out of public school to raise him and be home-schooled. But they never did have very much money, and as Ace got older the monsters came more often. So, to protect her son, Collen, and to lessen the burden on her mother, Ace decided to come to Camp half-blood.
Personality: Ace is still a regular teenage girl who loves to have fun. She's unique and funny and spunky. She loves to dance and have fun and is normally the life of that party. Ace has learned to ignore bullying/pure pressure and is rather good at it, you can't really get to her. And she is always smiling, even when she's depressed, she hides it with a smile and acts as if everything is ok. She hides a lot of stuff and lies a lot, so you could say that she has a "mask" that she puts up to hide how she really feels. But most the time she really is happy. She's a sweet girl that could never hurt anyone, unless they hurt her or someone she loves first. Once you take the first step, she will be a feisty component and I mean she can get really nasty. But besides that she's all love and peace. She's also a little mad/crazy/strange, call it what you want. But she gets it from her dad (obviously). She's always talking to herself and she might suddenly laugh out loud for no reason or say something completely random, but, hey, it makes sense in her mind.
Likes (obsessions): Sharpies. Grape juice. The colors purple and black. Funky, creative and unique things. Dancing. Parties. She's obsessed with the new Alice in Wonderland movie. And dinosaurs!
Up for love: Yeah, she's cool with having a boyfriend. But suggest anything over PG and she will dump you on the spot.
Other: Collen's profile:
Spoiler
Name: Collen
Age: 3 1/2
Parents: Ace Masilko and unknown.
Appearance: Collen is the cutest little boy EVER and he almost has an Aphrodite effect on people. He has wispy red hair and deep blue eyes.
Personality: Collen is one of those boys who seem to be simply perfect. He is a sweet, rather obedient boy. Collen has grown up in hardship and isn't spoiled like most little boys his age. And unlike most parents, Ace doesn't coddle him when he cries (teaching him to be tough and endure things), and actually encourages him to do things like hold knives and climb things (teaching him strength). Everybody loves him, and Ace normally has the tree nymphs babysit him. Of course Collen isn't perfect, and he still occasionally throws a fit, but he has been taught to endure things and be obedient.
Likes: His sock-monkey, Moli. (His name was originally Mowgli but when Collen was a baby he couldn't pronounce it right and always called it Moli, so the name just stuck). Moli is actually an automaton that Ace got for the little boy to watch over and protect Collen if she ever wasn't around. But he only comes "alive" when he's needed, the rest of the time he's just a limp doll in Collen's arms.
Other: He was dipped in the river styx as a baby.
Note: The only time I really able to write is at night, after supper. So if I don't respond dirrectly, don't be surprised. Oh, and, my computer has no spelling check, so please excuse any misspelled words!

Why is a raven like a writing desk?
You aren't an official writer unless you're at least slightly mad.
The bright morning sun came in through the window and shone in my eyes. I squinted my eyes, but the light seemed determined to wake me up. Finally I excepted defeat. Groaning, I stretched and carefully pried myself away from the still-sleeping Collen. I smiled as I looked down at his peaceful, angelic face. Carefully, so as not to wake him up, I brushed aside his red hair and gently kissed his cheek, and then I left for the bathroom to get ready for the day.
I emerged with my hair in braids and a messy bun, dark eyeliner under my eyes, and a lacy purple skirt over top of my jean leggings. Not to mention black mochasin boots and my skin-tight jacket with wings on the back. I woke up Collen and got him dressed. "There, now you're ready to conquer the world," I said as I finished tying his shoes.
"Yep. We're gonna win at paintball today." He said matter-of-factly, hugging Moli, his sock monkey.
I ruffled his hair, "Totally." But of course all Collen will be doing is watching safely in the branches of a near-by tree, pretending to shoot us with his empty paint ball gun. I got one of the nymths to babysit him, as usual. "Come on, big guy. If you want to grow big and strong to kill lots of monsters, we gotta eat our breakfast." I opened the cabin door and we started walking towards the dining pavilion.

It's always pleasant to have a pillow thrown at you and scare you awake.
"Mason! Get up." Nino snapped.
"No, go away." He muttered pulling the blankets over his head.
He threw another pillow. "Next time, I'm going to sock you in your-"
"I'm up! Damn." Mason snarled, glaring daggers at his half brother. Nino, Mason, and some other kid were the only Hades children in the entire camp. Nino came from a Mexican family up in New Jersey. Mason hailed from Utah. He didn't know the other guy's name. Timothy, maybe?
"Well, I don't want to be late because of your irresponsible self." Nino retaliated, storming off into the bathroom.
"Cry me a river, goody-two-shoes." Mason rolled his eyes at the wall and kicked off the covers. He threw on a pair of black jeans and a Black Veil Brides t-shirt he brought from home. It was sad how the camp didn't have any good music, clothes, or basically any form of entertainment that didn't involve physical activity. He dragged a brush through his choppy black hair and applied his usual dark make-up.
"You take emo to a whole new level." Nino said as he came back into the room.
"Shut up." Mason hissed, casting a hateful glare at Nino. The gods know how he despised being called emo. He quickly exited the cabin, wincing as the sunlight glared down apon him. He made his way to the pavilion, hoping there would be pie. He loves pie.
"Cat fight!" Nino said as he caught up with Mason.
"Where?!" Mason asked eagerly.
Nino pointed to the girls. Mason laughed evilly and walked over to the huddle.
"Are they going to fight?" Nino asked a guy observing the fight.
"I have no idea." The guy shrugged. Mason placed him as Xander, Zeus's kid. Mason moved on the other side of Nino, far away from Xander.
"Come, Nino. You don't want to catch something from that disgusting child of Zeus, now do you?" Mason drawled indifferently, casting a smirk at Xander, daring him to take the bait.

“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then." - Lewis Carroll
Timothy jolted awake as the ringing sound of his alarm clock rang right in his ear. He jumped with fright-the moaned, slapping the pillow to his face and slumping back into his bed without closing his eyes again. His cabin mates-both Greek and Roman-were always doing that. Putting his alarm clock right next to his ear and setting it early so that he was scared awake in the morning. Timothy lay there for a moment, and something in his body told him it was early morning and a perfectly sensible time to get up. He got up, fumbled for clothes in his dresser, then somehow stumbled his way to the bathroom without tripping too badly and got dressed, hoping he didn't look too stupid. The first thing he heard walking out of the Pluto/Hades cabin were sharp, annoyed female voices mixed in with the slightly husky ones of several males. He followed his ears as best he could before bumping into someone, someone he could tell was involved in the altercation. "Sorry," Timothy mumbled, taking a few steps back and bumping into another person before wishing desperately, as usual, that he could see. "Sorry again," he said. "But-well, what's-may I ask what's going on here?" The voice that answered was one he recognized as a fellow Hades/Pluto cabin, perhaps one of the two Greek children.
Arianna Knight I blinked myself awake and squinted at the face staring down at me. "Zeke what in all the sexless levels of the Underworld are you doing here?" I asked sitting up. "No idea." He said cheerfully. "Go I need to get dressed." I said pointing toward the door. "Maybe that's why I was here." He said wraggling his eyebrows suggestively. "Away now." I said. He pouted then walked out. "See Ms. Aria." He called over his shoulder. I rolled my eyes and got dressed in a dark purple tank top and black skinny jeans. I brushed my hair out of my eyes and back into a ponytail. I grabbed a book of poetry and my sketchbook and colored pencils. I walked out of the cabin after kicking Jaiden awake. I headed toward a grove of trees and noticed a bunch of the Hades/Pluto kids standing together. I continued walking just saying their names as greeting. "Mason, Timothy, and Nino." I greeted softly. "Hey Aria." They said as one still staring at the girls. I smirked and broke into a jog heading towards the grove still. I climbed up a tree and settled with my back against the trunk. I flipped open to a poem at random and started to read.
"You are without a doubt, the worst pirate I've ever heard of."
