I hope I got this right *really needs to check this more*
Sage Kellum

I heard the calls for pairing and looked to the guy, musing if I want him as my partner or not. He seemed pretty nice, and obviously oblivious to what was going to happen. I sighed and looked at him. "Ashton, partner?"

**sorry its short! Couldn't think of anything and I didn't want to control Gspy's char**

Dylan Hawkins.

"Partner." He nodded back at Valentina.

The group seemed to take a long time to split into pairs, and finally the guards began to look impatient, finally raising their voices harshly. Dylan felt a sudden seriousness fall over him. Before, this had been a sort of dream; a dream of sacrifice and greatness. But now, here, with the greying building and his sudden feeling of being trapped, it wasn't all he'd built it up to be.

But it wasn't that which mattered, was it? It was the King, and Garadeth.

Even if he died, he'd be helping them. Even if he became a mutant, if they really existed.

Keep a straight face, he told himself. Why, in all of Garadeth, would I have second thoughts now?!

Hey, Bolt - want to be partners? I just think that Taylor and Maria will get along like a house on fire. There may be no survivors. ;) If not, I can change this post.

Maria

The Experiment House towered above the little group. It immediately gave Maria a feeling of dread. She glanced cautiously into the woods surrounding them, but nothing stirred. There had been rumors of monsters or mutants of some kind running wild in that forest.
But – and she shuddered at the thought – what if, in twenty-four hours, she herself was running amok in there?

Sternly telling herself not to panic, Maria turned to the man next to her.

“Well, into the abyss, eh?” She said, hiding her anxiety behind her ever re-occurring smile. “Partners, then?” she asked. He shrugged.

“Sure, I guess. I’m Tay- er, Cole.”

“Pleased to meet you, Tay-er-Cole.” She winked. “I’m afraid I don’t have such an exotic name. I’m Maria.”

The man I had been speaking with earlier was partnered with a girl, and everyone else seemed to have found a companion.
I looked around to see who was left. I wasn't used to being alone, the other orphans had always been my company. A spritely girl stood nearby, seemingly alone.
"Hello. Adrian's the name. Care to be partners?" I asked.
She smiled.
"Maybe. You look kind of young." she said, sniffing slightly.
I wasn't sure what to say to that. She didn't look more than sixteen herself.
"Well, I'm twenty two. If you don't mind being paired with an old maid, then sure. I suppose we can be partners."
Twenty two! Well, she seemed nice enough. We shook hands.
"My name's Cate,Cate Wilson." She added.
I smiled. I was pretty sure we would get along.

(This okay by you, Amber? if not, I'll change it.)
Honey, you should see me in a crown.

So, I think the best thing for us to do would be to get this into some action, right? Because, well, posting is kinda down. :D

Dylan Hawkins.

The group passed through the courtyard quickly; it was a grey place, austere almost. The walls were tall, and Dylan began to feel like a dwarf, despite his height.

The soldiers chivvied them on, even they seemed nervous now. The group was walking faster and closer, like animals.

"This isn't how it's supposed to be" he murmured, disturbed.

They came to the doors. They were normal looking, human height and made of a worn-looking wood. A soldier rapped on the wood four times, and the door opened from the inside. Other soldiers stood in a corridor beyond.

The soldier who had picked up Dylan winked at him, and Dylan thought he saw a hint of pity in the soldier's face before he passed through the doors and into the Experiment House.

(Ok, it can all start now! What happens from here is simple: they go into a room, and are make to drink. The drink will knock them unconscious for a few hours, and in that time they'll receive the injection that will change them!)

(Oh, FYI: the Experiment House is very white inside, like a hospital but more minimalist. They won't see any equipment.)

We walk into the experiment house. The inside is all white, too white. It was white enough to make even an Angel hate the color white. White was not my color. One of the soldiers grabbed my arm and pulled me into a room. Angry at being caught off guard, I murmered a stream of curses, this was so unlike me. maybe all this white was going to my head.

"Drink!" the uard orders, pressing a cup of clear liquid into my hands. It is thick, like melted chocolate. I smell it. There is definetly a hint of the leaves from the Red Glen tree, and a hint of Gertudes Death. They are both sleeping plants, they could knock you out cold in a second. Knowing what they were about to do would probably be painful, I added a drop of Nightshade.

"What was that for?" The guard asks.

"I don't want to feel any pain. This will put me into a near-deth state. But, it probaably will take me longer to wake up." I say angrily. The nightshade turns the liquid purple. I sigh, and take a sip.

Ashton

Ashton looked at the cup in his hands with apprehension. "I knew I should've taken the boat..." he mumbled before downing the drink in one gulp.

His head began to spin, and his vision slid in and out of focus. His limbs suddenly felt very heavy. His eyelids drooped.

Without warning he collapsed to the ground unconscious, cup rolling across the floor.
Just another quack spouting psychobabble.

Valentina

Walking into the blindingly white room, Valentina felt nervous. She balled her hands up into fists at her sides.

"Drink." ordered a soldier, pointing a cup of liquid. Valentina began to turn the cup with her fingers nervously, some of it tipped onto her fingers.

"Hey! What are you doing?" barked one of the guards.

"I don't want to drink it." she whispered, watching the one young man who was gulping it down. He stopped with a puzzled look on his face before falling over.

"It's an anesthetic. Why?" she said, wide-eyed as the guard shoved the cup up to her mouth.

The liquid burned as it slid down her throat, and the entire world seemed to collide and mingle into darkness. She felt her knees give out and the cool, sterilized floor then nothing.

Carla

So much for that. Carla found that she was entirely unable to carry out her plans. With a stranger beside her, who she found herself unable as yet to draw into conversation, she walked silently onwards, and into the big, white room.

There was a glass on a sleek, small table in the middle of the room, and it contained a clear liquid.

"I'm meant to drink this?" she asked, looking up at the soldier. "You're Andy Marshall, aren't you? I treated your wounds when some civilians fought against you, when you thought they were harbouring a spy. If it weren't for me, you'd be dead."

The soldier glared at her, no trace of recognition in his eyes.

"Drink," he said.

Carla knew how deadly the soldiers could be when they were disobeyed. So she drank. And the last thing she heard, before the swimming room disappeared into the darkness, was his quiet whisper: "I would rather have been killed."

"Drink" said a guard, thrusting a cup into his hands.
The king is fair. The king is fair. He thought, lifting it to his lips.
Fair. Fair. He drank it slowly, almost gagging it back up.
Fair. The king is fair.
He sunk into unconsciousness, the white walls closing in on him.

*Alriiiight! Mutation time! :smt036*

Maria

Maria was ushered into the blindingly white room. As the members of her group fainted around her, one of the guards thrust a cup into her hands.

“Drink it,” he ordered. Fine, she thought, staring at the clear liquid. If they’re going to knock me out, I’m going out my way. Ignoring the irritated stares of the guards, Maria sat down on the floor and leaned her back against the wall.

“Well?” she asked, gazing up at them. “I just don’t want any bruises when I wake up.”
Maria raised her cup in salute. “Cheers,” she said, and gulped it down. The potion was oily and hot, and she forced herself not to spit it out. She would not make a fool of herself in front of these men. She absolutely would not…

The last thing she remembered before sinking into unconsciousness was trying with all her might not to be sick.

I saw Ashton fall to the floor and I dropped my cup and ran for the door.

Behind me, I heard gaurds boots clomping behind me, I pushed harder, but they caught me.

A guard held the cup to my mouth and another forced my mouth open. The liquid burned down my throat and my vision instantly stared to blurr.

The guards released me and allowed to me to sway back and forth before collasping onto the floor.

Dylan Hawkins.

"Drink it." A soldier pushed the cup into his hand. Dylan looked at it with a little distaste.
"You know," he said conversationally, "you could at least make this a little more ... courteous. A couple of cushions, maybe some paint on the wall ... it would make everything a little more comfortable."
Oh, he was babbling. Nervous, nervous, nervous. Come on. It's what he wanted. Really.
Without waiting for the soldiers to reply, he pinched his nose and drank the cup in one gulp.
Then he crashed to the floor in a dead faint.

(In a little bit, I'll just post an overview and we can move onto them waking up AFTER the whole mutation thing.)

JD, I would never tell you to leave the thread. :D If you're back, then definitely join the storybook, just make sure you catch up, yes?

Later that night.

A soldier was pacing up and down a white corridor. His heavy, black boots rapped on the floor, but apart from that it was silent.

The walls of the corridor were lined with doors on both sides. The doors were white too, and only distinguishable from the wall by the faint line of black that outlined them.

After a while, more footsteps were heard and another soldier turned a corner to the corridor. The first soldier sighed in relief at the sight of him.

"Have they woken up yet?" asked the second.

"I don't know, do I?" replied the first in an irritated voice. "We have to wait longer, don't we. Got to be sure that they're proper awake. We'd be skinned alive if we walked into the rooms now."

His companion chuckled uneasily, and braced his back against the corridor wall. "You can go now, anyway. I'll stay for the last bit."

They nodded at each other, and the first soldier left. The second stayed where he was against the wall, watching the doors and waiting for whatever was behind them to wake up.

(This ok for everyone? Start posting! )
