Valentina

After sitting around for a while, it seemed they would be waiting here for a while.
Valentina had begun to draw into the ground, each of others having made some sort of conversation. She chuckled to herself as she finish another elaborate swirl. She looked up to see someone standing above her.

"Hi." she smiled.

*I would be happy to, Kamas!*
-

“Hello,” Maria said, plopping herself down on the ground next to the girl.
“Drawing, eh?” She bent over the swirling patters in the dirt. “Very nice,” she said, hardly waiting for the girl to respond to her first comment. “I couldn’t get the hang of the whole artsy thing myself. Mind if I join you?” She flashed the girl a grin and a wink.
“I’m Maria, by the way.”

Carla

Carla walked into the big room and stared at the people. There were so many of them - she knew she was late, her guards had been heavy and slow, and everyone was already deep in conversation. She would have been happy to get stuck into any conversation, but they all seemed so comfortable that she felt as if she would be disturbing the scene.

She leant against the wall, and watched, and a huge smile of unexpected comfort spread across her face.

So here's my super late profile. Sorry it took so long.

Name: Cate Wilson

Age: 22

Gender: female

Appearance: http://www.flickr.com/photos/27639623@N08/3142309979/

Personality: She acts "all-business", but has a softer side. She tends to act snotty sometimes, but mostly only when someone asks her opinions on the king. Very friendly once you get to know her.

Role: Citizen

Stance on the king: Undecided.

Why picked for experiment: Unknown, she was randomly picked, perhaps?

History: Her father was always against the king, but her mother thought otherwise. This often caused many arguments in their home, but nothing too serious. Because of this divided house, she never picked a side between her parents, and doesn't think much about the king, if any at all.

Other: Up for love and friendship.

Back online! Get going, people!

Dylan Hawkins

“Stand up!” The soldiers were suddenly all formal and abrupt. Dylan stood up slowly, sending a questioning look at the soldier who had been friendly before. But he didn’t look in Dylan’s direction.
He sighed; obviously things were getting serious now. He couldn’t expect to be treated like a soldier anymore. Even if he was doing this for the King, not because he’d moved against him.
“Come on,” he said to the boy next to him. “Looks like we should start moving.”
There were a couple of grumbles as the group was nearly pushed forwards into a march, but these soon fell silent as the soldiers glared ominously. It wasn’t relaxed anymore.
“Wait!” said one soldier, suddenly. “We’re missing someone.”
There was a pause, before footsteps were heard around the corner and another soldier appeared, escorting a girl of around Dylan’s own age.
“Ok, we’re done here.”
The group began to walk again, and Dylan found himself pressed uncomfortably against the people next to him; the boy on his left and someone else on his right.
“Ouch,” he mumbled, as someone stepped on his foot painfully.
This wasn’t what it was supposed to be like. It was supposed to be amazing; he was doing this for the King, after all. But he felt like an animal trapped in a pen. It was claustrophobic, close. Dehumanising.
It’s all for the good of Garadeth, he reminded himself as the group moved up the road, nearer and nearer to the experiment house.
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

Valentina

“I’m Maria, by the way.” said the girl who had sat down beside her.

Valentina smiled, "I'm Valen--"

"Stand up!" barked the soldiers, interrupting their introductions.

Everyone stood up, grabbing packs. They all began to shuffle towards a large house in the distance, the so-called experiment house. Valentina felt herself step on someone's toes.

"Ouch." He breathed.

"Sorry." she murmured.

All riiiiiiiiiight.

Dylan Hawkins.

"No problem," Dylan said under his breath, smiling slightly. "I'm Dylan, by the way." He wasn't sure what the etiquette was when you were walking together about to be Experimented on, but he knew that you could never really go wrong with names.
Before she could reply, he smiled down at her again. "I signed up for this, by the way. If that bothers you, then you might want to go now."

Valentina

"Um, well. I'm not exactly sure what this is all about," she shrugged. "So it doesn't matter to me."

"What do you mean you don't know?" Dylan looked at her curiously.

"Well, I only found out I was being taken this morning at 11 am. Also, I'm Valentina." she said, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you Dylan."

Hey, just got back from the hospital, so just got online, posting.

Taylor/Cole

"Remember, Cole, you are Cole. Breath Cole, eat Cole, BE Cole," I whispered to myself. I wasn't exactly nervous going in, but the new identity thing was awkward. I didn't recognize myself when I woke up, I had been through five mirrors. One slip and I was dead, or dead quicker, or maybe slower, whatever, dead is dead.

I showed my invitation to the guards casually and strolled in. Glancing around I saw a pair at a table, with an empty chair. Not much for personal space, I sat down. Both of them gave me a face, and I just smiled casually.

"Hi...I'm Tay-..Cole!" I said, and felt a drop of sweat begin to come. Already slipping. I ruffled my hair, and got rid of the sweat. Hopefully they wouldn't have noticed.

Maria

The jostling of the crowd as it was pushed forwards by the guards began to annoy Maria.
There she had been, about to enjoy a comfortable conversation on the brink of what she was sure to be hell, and just like that, the soldiers interrupted. It had been no more than she expected, really.

Biting her lip, thinking, Maria wondered how long she could annoy these guards before they became violent. Probably about five minutes, she reasoned, and slowly made her way over to walk by one of them. She recognized him from when he had taken her away that morning.

“Howdy do,” she said, grinning. “I’m sure you know my name, but what’s yours?” The man made no reply. “Okay, then, Mister no-name, tell me this, since you’re obviously incapable of telling me who you are. Where, exactly, are you taking us?”

“You’ll know soon enough,” he grunted. She narrowed her eyes, but her smile didn’t falter.

“Oh, but I do love to know what’s going on. I mean – If I’m going to find out, what’s the harm in talking?” It was the guard’s turn to smile nastily at her.

“I don’t know. But people have been known to faint when they find out where they’re going. That must have something to do with it. Now, shut up or I’ll make you.” Maria, satisfied, fell back into the hazardous crowd. ‘So, people faint, huh?’ she thought. ‘We're really going to the Experiment House. Oh, absolutely wonderful.’

Jade

I listened to the other conversations around me. They didn't itrest me, until I heard something about an experiment house. I didn't want to be an EXPERIMENT! I wanted to go home. I wonder absent-mindedly how much Nightshade it would take to kill all of those guards. I knew one thing.

A lot more than I had.

I sigh, and look around me. Maybe if we passed another patch of it, I could collect enough to at least put them to sleep for a while, long enough to escape. Unfourtanetly, we didn't, for a while, and when we did, two of the guard stepped closer to me. They knew it was my signature poison. I had half a mind to shoot them, but that would be suicide, and that probably wasn't the best idea. FOr now, at least. I resume listening to the people talking, in particual, the one called Sage.

Carla

The group of people were hustled together in an uncomfortably close manner, but Carla still felt completely alone. It was a new experience for her, loneliness, and she didn't like it. She comforted herself by privately joking about it, and humiliated herself by laughing out loud. Nobody noticed, though, and she pulled her thin coat tightly around her, shivering, and keeping her head well and truly down. It wouldn't do to be noticed; it would lead to all sorts of misunderstandings. People would think she was on the sider of the King, knowing her to be a nurse to the soldiers, and she couldn't handle the isolation that would ensue. She would have to prove herself now, if she wanted to gain any friends.

Carla fixed her eyes on the nearest guard, and made her plans.

Bolteh, the characters are walking, not in a room!

I'll hurry this along a little. Maybe you guys want your characters to start talking to each other soon?

Dylan Hawkins.

The group rounded a corner, and Dylan's eyes widened as the tips of the Experiment House. All that he could see of it so far was a white tower, blackened slightly by age and the soot in the air. It was thick and tall; not crooked like the stories tell of it. Most people stayed away from the Experiment House, and rumours sprang up around it like weeds in a field. But it didn't frighten Dylan. Not much, anyway.

It's what I should want, he reminded himself. No, it is what I want.

"Pair up!" one of the guards suddenly shouted. "We're about to enter the courtyard."

Valentina Odelle

"Pair up! We're about to enter the courtyard." shouted the guards, so suddenly in the silence that Valentina jumped.

She looked up to the young man she'd been walking beside for the past little while.

"Partner?" she grinned at him.
