Gladiators

StolenHearts. is my partner in crime, so feel free to bug her with things you’d otherwise bug me for. Like YWS needs another storybook, but we’ve been thinking of this since September. Plot: It’s the year 2598. World War X was fought and finished over twenty years ago, with war prisoners taken off of every side. Here in the Northern Empire (see map attached), we’ve used those prisoners for gladiator fighting. Armed with net guns, SONAR and good ole TASERs, tens of thousands of buffed up men and women fight to the death in huge – as in, thirty acre – holographic arenas. Their fights are followed around by hovering cameras that stay out of the way but still give the audience a good view. The winners gain glory and riches. The losers, well… The government, or more scientists paid by taxes, have developed an entirely new steroid that enhances a persons ability to Superman like levels and makes them near-invulnerable. Fast runners go sixty miles and hour. The strong can lift a truck on the shoulders. It’d make a great fight, right? There’s a catch. After you get the final dose, you slowly start to lose your mind. You become nothing, a wild animal with no human sense. A destroying, fighting, killing machine. Sure, that was what you’ve been trained to do since you were a kid, but now it’s all you can do. Not sounding so hot anymore, is it? A few people have immunity to this steroid. They’ve run away from their agents – the people who give them food and housing, in return for a cut of the profits. Also, they’re being chased down by government agents, since the government wants to find out what the heck they have in their systems that is canceling out the steroid. Authors Note Though we don’t know it, there are lots more who have this immunity. What we have to do is band together, stay alive, find a few thousand others and start a war. Plenty of room for drama, fighting, whatever in this here SB. Rules: 1.) No god-modding and all that. 2.) People are going to die in this, so no killing off other characters without the author’s permission. 3.) Mild and minimal swearing is allowed, so long as it’s mild and minimal. Nothing harsh, and not all the time. 4.) This is rated R for violence and gore. That’s it. Everything else is PG-13. 5.) Romance is absolutely fine, but NO sex. Period. 6.) No superpowers or magic. Use your death ray. 7.) Post at least twice a week, por favor. 8.) Each post must be at least fifty words long. That means one of us is going to copy-paste it onto Word and have it count your words, so you might want to do the same. Five strikes, your character(s) will be murdered. Profile notes: Your character can be between 16 and 60 years old. 16-28 year olds will be the second generation of gladiators. The original gladiators, the war prisoners, will be the parents of this second generation. Keep this in mind. Between 15 and 18 characters are allowed, with two characters a person. Try and keep the boy-girl ratio sort of even. Since we’re in the Northern Empire (North America in 500 years), and we’re war prisoners, you aren’t going to be from the Northern Empire. Remember. You’re from anywhere but. Photos are optional, but you still have to fill out the written form if you include one. YOu can use a real photo or a drawing, whichever fits your character. And remember, you'll be really muscular, no exceptions.
