"Good work," One of the sea assassin captains complimented Kenran as they surged forward and took me captive. He tried to follow a short distance behind the group but the same captain stopped him.

"I have a mission for you," the captain hissed, his voice growing fainter and fainter as I was dragged away. "There's a camp of forest people not far from here. I already have a few men on the job but I need a man of your abilities to go down there and make sure they don't screw up." Kenran's answer was lost to me and suddenly I began to panic. Here I was, all alone in enemy country and being dragged towards a cave that was just visible over the top of the next hill.

I tried to delay the journey by purposefully stumbling and struggling but I was dragged to my feet and pulled inside the dark, damp structure. I shivered as they threw me inside an iron cell and slammed a spiked gate closed. A pale slither of light seeped under the door but other than that I was alone, confined in the abyss of rock and metal.

*omg, thank you kitty for posting! you rock!
As to being bombed, unless its with Greek fire, I don't think it's possible in medieval times XD.*

Kenran' eyes flicked towards his friend disappearing in the forest, then back to his captain. "Where is she going?"

The captain fluttered his hand. "It doesn't matter. She was Forest folk, wasn't she?"

"I didn't really notice," kenran replied with a shrug.

"Can you go to their camp?" the captain persisted. "it would be a great help."

Kenran hesitated. It wuld be suspisious if he refused and would get Dahila in more trouble than she alraedy was. And maybe he couldwanr the others.

"Alright," he said a little glumly. "Let me pack, first. And I'll need something more than a knife..."

"Break it up you too," Aren commanded as Silver and Kenran glared at each other. Silver spat at Kenran's feet and then stalked off into the forest.

"Wow, I think he hates you more than he hates me," Delita murmured. Kenran didn't respond.

"And what are you doing back here anyway?" Aren asked. "I thought you needed to get back to camp."

"I did," Kenran replied. Suddenly all the anger drained from his face and he looked down, shuffling his feet uncomfortably. "I have a favor to ask," he began. "A friend of mine has been captured and imprisoned. Will you help me rescue her?"

"Captured by who?" Delita asked. "The mountain people? Because there's no chance I'm going anywhere near those sorcerers!"

"Well...no it wasn't them." He didn't look at them. "She....it was my regement." He said,

"Delita was about to say something but Aren stepped in front of him. "How?" She asked him, Kenran went through the whole story, "I'm up for it, I owe you that."

"And there's something else," he said nervously. "There are some...ah...Sea spies in your camp. My captain gave me their names."

"Oh?" Aren said. "I'm not surprised. Sneaks. Anyway, who are they?"

Kenran whispered their names in her ear, afraid that one of them would be listening to him. "You can't just catch them all, though," he said carefully. "It'll be suspicious if they all get caught as soon as my captain entrusts me with their names."

Aren smiled, "Well, I know all of them, by glance at least."

"Remember..." He started,

"Don't take them all out. I know how to get rid of a few of htem wiht out causing suspicsion." She smiled letters from home always brought a sea assassin packing.

"Let me get this straight," I began as I stepped forwards, picking up my sword and sliding it into the sheath.

"You want help in rescuing a girl caught by your own people?" Kenran inclined his head ever so slightly.

"Then I presume she isn't from your nation?" Now he looked nervous and for some reason instead of being curious, Aren appeared to be angry. Delita however displayed the expected emotion.

"He makes a good point. What's her race?" Delita asked.

For once, Kenran wished for the ability to lie. "There are several very good reasons that she could be my nation," he snapped.

Delita raised an eyebrow. "Such as..."

Kenran was quiet for a moment, then said quickly, "She could be a spy bringing bad news. My captain doesn't like bad news. Or she could've been almost caught by the Moutnain people, and he doesn't take kindly to that either. And there are many of use who were drafted and would rather be home, and it could very well be that she was trying to desert..." He shrugged lamely. "That's one thing my captain hates very much. Believe me, I've tried."

"Sounds like you sea assassins are a hard people but it's very clear none of those reasons are right," Amanta stated, coming to stand beside me.

"Well I'm not getting involved. Unlike some I value my life," Delita decided. he turned and began to stride away but after two steps he stopped. "But I wont tell anyone what you're planning. I didn't hear a word." With that, he resumed his retreat.

"We're better off without him anyway," Aren told Kenran before turning to face Amanta and me.

"Looks like we'll have to talk later," Amanta said.

"Wait. What do you mean? Surely you're not planning on going on your own?" I demanded, amazed at both their bravery and their stupidity. Who knew better than them how efficient and strong the sea assassins were?

"What other choice do we have?" Kenran asked bitterly, still watching after Delita who was now almost out of sight.

"You have us," Amanta declared.

"Us?" I echoed. "But you're..."

"Coming," Amanta finished, a note of finality in her voice.

Amanta watched Luke her expression akin to fierce, he wasn't making her stay behind, when she felt it safe to look away sheturned back to Aren and Kenran, "you'll need a nurse, and at least now I have some knowledge of how to defend myself, even attacking."

"Amanta-" Luke began, his voice pleading.

"Luke, you know I'm right, you'll need all the help you can get! And there's no way you're leaving me behind, I know my way around, I'll follow you."

Kenran raised an eyebrow towards Amanta, "I like her, she knows what's she's doing."

"That she does," I sighed. 'And so did her brother' I added silently, my heart clenching so that I had to remind myself to breathe.

"That's decided then. A temporary alliance," Aren mused.

"Do we have a plan?" Amanta asked. "Or will we plan as we go?"

"I'd feel much more comfortable if I had a vague idea of the layout of the camp but let's talk and walk. The more time we spend here, the more time they have to torture your friend," I mused.

"Torture? Would they do that?" Amanta asked.

"The Sea assasins don't take spies lightly," Kenran said, biting his lip. "They know from personal expirence how damaging they could be to an enemy." He glanced over toward camp, then shifted nervously. "They have a sort of hold in the middle of camp," he said. "Surrounded by the luteneits' tents. then around that, off to the west in our camp, is the General's tent. And around that are the foot-soldiers' tents, twelve to a tent. They have captain tents spread randomly around those tents, to make sure there's no revolt or something like that. I can tell you where the sentries are as we walk."
