Brewer seemed like a nice enough guy. He sat down after Phoenix, who had already unzipped the first of the huge bags and spread it wide open. Inside lay no fewer than four filled rifle carrying cases.

"Wow man, you like to pack heavy, don't you?" Brewer said, raising his eyebrows in surprise.

Phoenix laughed and said, "Well, I don't trust the weapons the military issues, so I've gotten clearance to use a few of my own."

"Whadaya got there?" Brewer asked as Phoenix began to pull the first of the cases out of the bag.

"FN Herstal SCAR system," Phoenix grunted as he withdrew an assault rifle from the bag.

"Looks like a standard M4 to me," Brewer said.

"Yeah, SCAR is based on the M4--the US wanted to replace the M4 with a new weapon, but they haven't gotten around to it. SCAR was one of the candidates. All evidence shows that some plastic looking assalut rifle is gonna be picked instead."

"Yeah I think I heard somenthing about that," Brewer said.

Phoenix meticulously disassembled the rifle, examined each piece, then reassembled it as Brewer watched, curious.

"Uses the same clip as the M4?" he wondered, plucking a magazine out of the bag.

"Er...Kind of. It actually uses the AK-47 banana clip, but this one I've modiifed to take either one, depending on the configuration I'm using," Phoenix said patiently, looking intently down the barrel of the SCAR. "I have two different configurations; one that fires the M4's rounds, and one that fires the 7.62 mm rounds that the AK fires."

"Nifty. What else you got in there?" Brewer said, peering into the bag once more.

OOC: Dan, you might consider the IMI Tavor-21 as your primary weapon instead :) Yes, I'm a gun freak.

This is the SCAR System

As all the other members of the team kept coming in and getting acquainted with their quarters, another chopper was disembarking on the pad. Kobi Shimoni disembarked from the chopper, grabbing two large rucksacks in his hands, and ran over to where the base Commander, Nathaniel Caldwell, was waiting for him.

He quickly saluted, "Staff Sergeant Kobi Shimoni reporting sir"

Caldwell half-heartedly returned the salute. "As you were, Shimoni. Welcome to EAGLES. Get your quarters assignment from the Duty Officer inside. Get your gear squared away and meet the other team members. They're gonna be your family for the next few years. Hooah."

"Of course, sir"

After getting his room assignment, he walked into what would be his home away from home for the next few years, at least. The good thing about it, however, was that the room situations were better than in any other unit in the army. They were fully furnished, dormitory style, and only held two men each, so there was enough room to live relatively like a normal human bieng. He opened the door, and walked inside. Inside, there was a very tall, skinny, almost lanky man blu-tacking pictures onto the wall.

"Hi," Kobi said, with only a faint trace of an accent.
"Oh, hullo there," the other guy said. "I'm Jay"
"How're you doing, Jay? I'm Kobi" they shook hands, then Kobi continued, jokingly, "What, they room all the foreign operatives together or something?"
"Heh, I guess," Jay said. He pointed towards himself and said "British SAS"
"Oh-ah!" Kobi exclaimed, motioning to himself, saying "I'm from Israeli Sayeret Matkal"
Kobi moved over to the open bed on the opposite side of the room, and started to unpack his things. He first pulled out his clothes, both civilian, and military, and put them in the drawer. Next he withdrew a bible, as well as copies of various intellectual works: Herodotus' "Histories", Plato's "Republic", Josephus' "The Jewish War", as well as the Tao Te Ching and Oedipus. He stacked them in a neat pile, in a corner on the desk. Kobi saw Jay glance over to him, and he said, chuckling
"Just a bit of light reading"
"Of course," Jay said.
Next, he pulled out his weapons he had brought with, whether the EAGLES liked it or not. The first was a Desert Eagle pistol, as well as a Colt m1911 .45 caliber pistol. He put them both on the bed gingerly, pulling out thier ammunition and placing it in the desk. Next, he pulled out a 10 and a half inch long Bowie knife and a set of brass knuckles, also placing them on the bed gingerly as well, then tucking the Bowie into his belt. Last, he pulled out his very personal belongings: a picture of himself and his girlfreind in front of their home on Kibbutz Ketura, a notebook full of her letters, a journal with a very nice pen, and a miniature Israeli flag with a stand, and put all three on his desk.

When he was finished, he turned to Jay and said "I haven't eaten all day and I'm famished. Do you know where the Chedar Ochel...er, I mean, mess hall, is?"
Jay pointed out the way, and Kobi made his way down the hall towards the kitchen.

Grif made his way to the armory. In his locker, he found his weapons. He took them out carefully.

First, he took out the M107 Sniper Rifle out. It was heavy, 28.5 lbs to be exact, but it was a small price for being able to kill targets accuarately from 2 kilometers away.

The next was unfamiliar, until Grif saw the weapon designation: XM-8.

Nothing but the latest and greatest! Grif thought to himself.

A Browning 9mm finished off the compliment. Grif put the XM-8 and the Browning back in the locker. He grabbed the M107 and went out to the range. He received some ammo from the rangemaster before he took a seat at the 1000 meter mark.

OOC: Lookin nice yall.

Thoven watched as Frealand walked up and asked his question, "The commander'd be Caldwell, you must've missed him on your way in. This is Phoenix," Brewer replied, handing Phoenix one of his own guns he'd been examining and motioning toward him. " And I'm Thoven Brewer, why don't you pop a squat and look over these nifty weapons with us? I think we're all suposed to be meeting in here for a briefing."

"Sure." Frealand replied, setting down his bags and joining the other two operatives at the table. Then the three proceeded to examine the weapons and chit chat.

"So, what're you here for," Phoenix asked Frealand, "got any specialties?"

"Medic. I can shoot too. I just came here from active duty Delta. You?"

"I think they'll be using me as sniper-scout, I don't really know though. What about you Brewer?"

"Oh, huh?" He said, looking up from one of the rifles, "Demo. And Human Cannon." Brewer poked his thumb into his chest to accentuate his point. Thoven started to say something else when Jay and Kobi walked into the mess hall from one of its many entrances. They were talking to themselves as they walked over and sat near the other three operatives. Brewer started a shaking of hands and soon everyone there new who the other was.

"WHERE ARE THESE PEOPLE!" clive yelled, for he had searched all the rooms and not found one other person. Bumping into caldwell "where are all the soldiers? i need to check on things" he said irritated.

"oh, hah, they're all in the mess hall waiting for briefing, didn't you get the memo?" he replied chuckling.

"Oh... yea that." clive replied running off to the mess hall, his computer in its case strapped to his back. Bursting in the doors, he addressed each soldier by name.

"and who are you?" phoenix asked.

"Your tech support, and please everyone who has their own computers pile them on that left table and i'll get started on security and known eagles information about known criminals and terrorist organizations." clive said as he motioned to the table in the back of the hall.

As Clive walked away, mumbling to himself about foolish, unprepared jar heads, Phoenix put down the third of his guns (a heavily customized GK MP5) and reached into the bag for the final rifle case.

"OK guys, now this is my baby, so try not to get too many fingerprints on it, okay?"

The whole table laughed and Kobi said, "Dude, chill. We know you're a nut, but come on--it's a gun."

Phoenix's nervous grin faded as he blushed slightly.

"Look, I'm a bit paranoid about my guns, okay? In my position even the smallest change in weight or calibration is the difference between a hit and a miss."

Kobi leaned over to Jay and Frealand and muttered "I thought this guy was an expert, not a ballerina."

Phoenix turned an even brighter red and unzipped the final rifle case. Inside lay a rifle that looked like a cross between Star Wars and Saving Private Ryan.

"What...the Hell...is that?" Kobi said, awestruck.

"This is my tutu, thanks," Phoenix said, lifting the sniper rifle out of its case.

"I've never seen one of those before...it doesn't fire shiny laser beams does it?" Brewer asked, only half sarcastically.

"No...it fires a standard .308 Winchester round, actually. Handy for picking up ammo in combat."

"But what is it?" Jay asked, suddenly interested. Phoenix pulled the barrel out of the foam covered case, then quickly attached it to the body by means of three quick screws.

"AMP Technical Services DSR-1. Bolt action, 5 round box magazine, with a expected accuracy of 0.2 MOA at 100 yards. I've hit the same accuracy at 500 yards, but only once. Like I said, this is my BABY."

Phoenix unfolded the bi pod and extended the butt stock to full length, then set the fully assembled rifle on the table.

"Wait...does that thing have two magazines?" Kobi asked, no longer joking.

"No, the front one is a dummy. It's in bull pup configuration, and the spare clip is there to reduce reload times."

"Yeah, dumbass," Brewer said with a laugh.

"Like you knew that," Kobi scoffed.

"You realize we're supposed to have all our personal equipment here for inspection by 1100 hours, don't you?" Phoenix said to his team-mates. They all looked at one another and shrugged one by one.

"I didn't hear anything about that," Kobi said.

"Me neither," said Brewer.

"Really? Caldwell told me," Frealand said.

"Better go get your stuff, it's almost 11," Phoenix said with a grin. "What, you thought I just set up my guns on a mess hall counter for fun?"
Got YWS? I do.

"Well then," Brewer said, getting up from the table, "I'll be back in a second." He left the mess hall and walked back to his room. When he came back, he was carrying one long black bag.

Setting it on one of the less crowded tables, he opened it. Brewer then pulled out a Desert Eagle with an extened clip and both a laser sight and Surefire (flashlight) attachment, a SPAS-12, and an M203 with an upper reciever rigged to shoot 50 caliber rounds.

Brewer looked around, all the others except for Phoenix had gone to get their stuff, and the techie, Clive, was once again wondering around the mess hall.

"Pretty cool stuff there. Nothing to fancy though." Phoenix joked, looking around at Thoven's stash.

"Yea, nothing too fancy. I figured EAGLES would have an armory so I didn't bring much. These two," Brewer said, indicating the Desert Eagle and the M203, "are actually sentimental."

"Well, they're do." Phoenix checked his watch. "They better be back soon, it's 10 till."

OOC: So I'm not a gun freak like you guys...tell me if that weaponry is out of date or crappy or something. Looking over the SCAR system though, I think I might be using that. It looks spiffy, Dono.

OOC: I know, right?

Standard Issue for the US Military is the M4, and it looks like, from your character description, you'd be using the middle picture; the one with the grenade launcher ;)

Frealand returned with his bag and set it up on the table and pulled out three guns, wrapped in cloth.

The first gun was a standard Delta issue Colt .45 cal M1911A1 pistol.

The next gun was a Remington 7.62mm M40A1 sniper rifle mounting a ten-power US Marine Corps telescope. He'd configured it to take a magazine of twelve rounds, instead of the standard single shot version.

The third was Frealand's favorite. It was a Heckler & Koch 9mm MP5 SD3 submachine gun. It had an integral silencer and a flashlight and laser sighting attached to either side of the barrel. On the bottom of the barrel, he'd attached a grenade launcher. All of this equipment made the gun heavy and unweildy, but it was well worth it.

He laid each one out side by side, then looked over at Brewer, "Nice stuff."
"wub wub wub wub. Now Zoidberg is the popular one."

"Computer... Captain's musk"

Kobi grabbed an apple out of the refrigerator in the Mess Hall where the others were congregating. He heard Pheonix say that all weapons needed to be ready in the mess hall for inspection in what amounted to 10 minutes. He immediately left to go back to his quarters to get his many weapons he had brought with him.
He returned to the mess hall with the one rucksack he had not yet unpacked.
"What you got there, Kobi?" Brewer asked him.
"These are MY babies," Kobi replied, putting the rucksack on the table. Before he opened it, however, he removed and placed on the table all the weapons he had on his person.
First, he withdrew the large Desert Eagle pistol that was tucked inside his belt. Next he withdrew the Colt M1911A1 .45 Caliber also from his belt. Next, he withdrew the Bowie Knife from a special holster in his belt on his back, and from his boot he withdrew a 7 inch long boot knife. He placed all of these things carefully on the table. Next from his cargo pocket that he kept ammunition in, he withdrew a pair of carefully wrapped brass knuckles, and placed them on the table next to the Bowie knife. Next, he opened his rucksack.
In the first gun case from the rucksack, he withdrew three weapons: First he withdrew a MK-UMP 40 with tactical front grip and red dot sight and flashlight. He also withdrew a Beretta SCP 70/90 assault Carbine, also with red dot sight, and a detacheable barrel adaptor. The last weapon he withdrew from the first case was a miniUzi with folding hollow-carbon stock. He put all three on the table, ready for inspection.
Out of the next case, he withdrew an FN SCAR Mk 16 with a detacheable FN EGLN 40mm grenade launcher, smiling at Pheonix and setting it on the table, and his favorite gun, a Galil ARM with extended magazines and laser sight, and also an accompanying Galil MAR (Micro Galil) with fold-out composite hollow Carbon stock and shorter barrel and laser red dot sight, and internal stabilizer (built in).
He placed them all on the table ready for inspection.

"So, what do you think, boys?"

"I think we're ready for war." Brewer answered from a few tables over, a wide smile on his face.

"Good. 'Cause we're on the way."

Everyone turned to see Caldwell sitting on a table across the hall. Clive and his assisstant were standing next to him.

"Where to, sir?" The team asked in near unison.

"Colombia. I owe a guy in the DEA a favor. It turns out Alejandro Vargas is about to ship out a very large amount of cocaine. In 90 minutes, we're rolling out, en route to his property. We're going to capture Vargas and hand him over to the DEA. Now, these fine men," Caldwell said, motioning toward a group of people standing off to the side, "Would like to check your weapons. If they authorize them, you can use 'em. When they're done though, head to the armory and suit up."

One of the people stepped forward, "Yes, if you could disassemble your guns and stand by them, we'll try to be done with this as soon as possible."

A silence had seemed to settle over the team. So much for practice...
