I smile at him and put my drink down. My phone rings and I pick it up. "I am sorry, it's my mom." I say to Chance.
He nods, smiling and I answer. "Hey Mom, Chance and I are at lunch can I call you back later?" I ask.
"Honey, I have so bad news." She says.
"What is it?" I ask.
"You father is not going to be able to make it in time for the wedding. He is doing a mission project." She says. "I know how sad you are going to be." '
I bite my lip and close my eyes. "No it's fine. Your still coming, right?" I ask.
"Yes dear." She says.
I nod and hang up the phone, not opening my eyes.
