This is the discussion thread for my latest storybook. As many have noticed the plot here is very flexible and if ideas can be displayed here we can easily debate this.

To go on there is also fact of what the scenario is. Essentially the distress signal is a mine. This mine is very unusual as it doesn't blow up the ship; instead it first electrifies engine room killing anyone inside, near destroy communications facilities, kills some crew, and finally destroys the light speed engines.

As you can see the mine is intelligent and it brings a worrying conclusion who put it there. To put it bluntly, we're not alone.

We shall focus on character development for now.

Another discussion in chat prompted a new plot point.

There will be another small explosion that will damage the heating system, which will cause heating through out the ship to fluctuate. This will make some places on the ship very hot and others very cold.

Locations that have been decided

Elle's office- Very cold
Bar- Very Hot.


If you wish those of you who weren't their can discuss this further as to the exact nature of hit occurrence.

Shaun is sulking and says no one will come to drink at his bar if it is really hot but I like the idea XD

I think it would be cool if we started killing some of the massive crew off which would force people like the bar staff into more necessary positions as well as their current ones. Shaun quite fancies the idea of being given a weapon eventually XD That's men for you huh?

That is a good idea.

None of the avenues via storybook for that to happen make sense.
And you also have to consider the fact that it takes 9 months for a baby to bake in the oven. It is currently day TWO of the storybook. We shouldn't be talking about captains of other ships rescuing us, pilots having babies of unknown fathers, or any of that.

Let the illusory alien buy our attention for the time being.

Hayden and Rachell are in deep space alone with no communications beyond one another.

Roan is up to his neck in murder cases and finding a way home.

Isaac has had three near-death experiences.

Logan is doing the go-between work for Roan and any other correspondent while also consoling a friend who is a victim of rape.

Elle is still Elle and will continue to receive reports of ghost activity on the ship, along with inexplicable happenings both of the murderous variety and mere accidental.

The ship's 3000+ residents will be thrown into a GRADUAL frenzy over superstitions.

The bar owner is now a guard and his staff is aware of the revoked alcohol privileges for the pilots (and as of my next post, it will be extended to everyone on board the Demeter).

The heating system is permanently screwed. The temperature varies drastically across the ship, but the places notably affected are:

The bridge- ice cold
The galley- ice cold
The Medical Ward- hellish
The residential area fluctuates between hellish and icy at random.
