Academy for Heroes-In-Training: Redux!

(If this is your first time reading this, please bear with me. It's very very long.)

This is based on the premise of having a group whose members are far-off descendants of famous heroes. The heroes in this series live at an academy being trained for their future profession. (More details follow the rules below.)

(NB: These are not administrators IN the storybook. That is, the characters of these posters do not run the Academy in the storybook, they are students like the rest. These are the players that moderate and approve posts within the storybook. Any questions regarding the storybook should go to one of them, either in the DT or via PM.)


Rules
THE BASICS:

- No god-moding. Heroes may be stronger than normal people but everyone has their weaknesses.
- No killing other players unless agreed by all parties involved.
- Don't swear too heavily. "Damn", "crap", "ass" and "pissed off" are ok, but don't go beyond those.

REGARDING POSTS:
- Do not post in the story thread until your profile in the DT has been approved by an Academinistrator.
- Keep posts to about 200 words, minimum (there is no maximum limit to post length).
- Please try to post to the storybook thread at least once a week. We won't enforce this too hard, but since you level up by posting (see the characters section below), you're only holding back your own character by idling.
- At the top of each post, add your character's name and an approximate date/time (of the date and time inside the storybook, not the real-world date and time).
- Do not double-post in the story thread UNLESS the story thread has gone for 48 hours without any new posts. In this situation you are permitted to keep the storybook alive with another post (though ideally, let's not let it get to that point).
- ONLY post story posts in the main thread. Any out-of-context posts, including profiles and things like "someone bring me in please" go in the DT.
- Avoid posting in chatspeak, like "u wan 2 go do sumtin w/ sum1?".
- Ensure that your post actually correlates with previous ones, and makes sense. If your character went bald in the last post, don't post that he is combing his hair. This sounds obvious, but I've seen mistakes happen on this world wide web.
- To contribute to your character's levelling up (see the characters section below), posts must adhere to the above rules. You will be asked once to edit a post if it doesn't fit the criteria, but otherwise your character will simply not gain EXP for that post.

REGARDING CHARACTERS:
- Players are limited to one character.
- Every character is the descendant of a famous superhero (or supervillain). A descendant doesn't have to be good if the ancestor was, or evil as the case may be, but they should inherit at least some of their abilities. Incidentally, the character being played as should be original, not a character seen in the series but a new one created by the player.
- Two characters should not have the same ancestor (unless they are siblings or something; if a couple of players want to do this, PM an Academinistrator; the related characters still need to be sufficiently different in both personality and abilities). However, characters can have descendants from the same world, eg: one descended from Batman and one descended from Robin.
- A character's stats and abilities are based on its level. Characters begin at level 0 and hit their peak at level 10.
- Characters level up every time their poster reaches 10 valid posts (see above or the FAQ for the definition of a "valid post"). With each level growth comes an increase in stats and/or a new ability. Ability lists should be posted as part of the profile, detailing the boosts that come with each levelup.
- Try to balance your character's abilities, and increase them accordingly. Don't have them learn to vaporise their enemies' bones at level 1, then gain a slight speed boost at level 5. Use common sense here.
- Once you've reached 10 valid posts (or 10 more posts since the last 10) an Academinistrator will PM you letting you know that you can level up. You can then level up at the start of your next post.

Aaand I think that's a wrap for rules (finally). Sorry if it seems like a lot of rules, but I think they are all either necessary or at least useful.


PLOT DETAILS
- At the beginning, characters are restricted to the campus of the Academy. Later, there will be more locations, including the home worlds of players, and possibly a headquarters for QM and his allies (see QM below).
- The Academy year, much like the school year, is divided into four terms, with three breaks in between. Characters may stay at the Academy during these breaks, or they may go home. Characters visiting home are encouraged to do so in groups, with multiple characters visiting a single home, so no character is left on their own.
- Unlike the original Academy storybook, characters will now be assigned randomly to dorm rooms. Just to make things awkward. :) EDIT: Rooms now house 2 characters instead of 3.
- Any character whose ancestor is a villain is required to attend remedial Anti-Villainy classes (see the Class List below).

Map of the Academy
Above is a map of the Academy. It should mostly be self-explanatory.

The Cafeteria provides breakfast, lunch and dinner for free (or rather, included with the Academy's fees: point is, you don't have to pay for them there and then) but they charge for snacks.

Classes list
How many classes your character does is entirely at your discretion (realistically, you SHOULD be doing at least 3 though). Think about the kind of classes your character would do: if they have a flight ability, they would take Flight Training. This should also match their level growth: if they learn to fly at level 6, they wouldn't be doing Flight Training class at level 1-5. (The Academy expects new powers to crop up during the year, so they are very flexible about adding students to classes.)
If you need help deciding on classes for your character, ask in the DT or PM an Academinistrator.

Staff list
Not much to say about the teachers. They're them.

QM's profile
QM is the main villain in Academy. If you are a villain-descended character, he may have already visited you in your home world prior to the start of the storybook (whether he has or not is at your discretion).

Returning players please read this, as there are some slight changes to the profile template.

Should be fairly simple. Post profiles in this thread. If the template is hard to understand, use mine as an example or PM an Academinistrator.

Name: Zeke the Hedgehog

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Ancestor(s): Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog)

Home: Angel Island, Mobius

Alliance: Hero

Appearance: Looks similar to Sonic, but is turquoise in colour with brown eyes. Wears a black leather jacket, gloves and boots. Also his eyes do not "connect" in the middle, but are separate.

Personality: Though he, like his ancestor, is ready, willing and able to help those in need, Zeke lacks Sonic's smart-alec attitude, as well as his confidence. He's very shy around those he's just met and dreads any situation in which he must speak or perform to a public audience. He has a tendency to be naive and is usually oblivious to trickery. On the plus side, he is brave when real danger presents itself, and immeasurably loyal towards his friends and allies.

Abilities:
Level 0:
Can run at superhuman speeds.
Level 1: Learns the Spin Dash (Zeke rolls into a ball and propels himself forward).
Level 2: Speed increases slightly.
Level 3: Learns the Homing Attack (In midair, Zeke rolls into a ball and propels himself at a nearby target).
Level 4: Endurance increases slightly.
Level 5: Learns Chaos Spear (Zeke charges a buildup of Chaos energy in his hand and propels it at a nearby target).
Level 6: Strength increases slightly.
Level 7: Learns Chaos Control (Zeke charges a buildup of Chaos energy and uses it to teleport; can teleport himself as well as a certain amount of other matter).
Level 8: Learns Chaos Blast (Zeke charges a buildup of Chaos energy within himself and forces an explosion that damages everything within a 5 metre radius).
Level 9: Speed increases dramatically.
Level 10: Learns Super transformation (Zeke transforms for a brief period into a golden glowing version of himself that is faster, stronger, invulnerable to most attacks and able to fly. In this form his spines float upward and his eyes turn red. Although seven Chaos Emeralds are normally needed, Zeke only needs the blue Emerald he possesses).

Item(s): The blue Chaos Emerald of his home world, Mobius. It was given to him by Sonic on his deathbed.

I guess he's "up for loves" as well, if any other woodland-mammal type character shows up.

Home: Kalm, near the destroyed city of midgar

Appearance: She has short, stylized, bone white hair with one braid on the right side of her face. Her form is lean, and muscular, her arms especially so. She has long eyelashes and a strong chin. Her eyes are a startling blue, and he carries a large, very old two-handed sword strapped to her back at all times.

Personality: She is usually a private person, but is friendly enough. Has a dangerous temper, and a sharp tongue. Can, on occasion, be strangely boisterous and loud.

Abilities:
Level 0: Slash attacks with Buster Sword.
1: Increased melee damage
2: Counterattack lvl 1- when attacked, has a chance to have a counter strike- a more powerful attack (1.5-2x dmg).
3: Basic Ice magic: Low-level Ice damage.
4: Increased melee damage
5: Counterattack lvl 2- increased chance of counter strike (2x-3x dmg)
6: Fire magic: Mid level Fire damage
7: Increased melee damage
8: Lightening magic: High-level electrical damage
9: Barrier-All: Puts up a temporary shield on all allies to physical damage.
10: Summon: Bahamut; A large, powerful creature that sends a shot of energy at all opponents. Very high damage, one attack per summon- Kumo needs a few seconds to gather the energies required.

Items: Buster sword, 5x potion, 5x pheonix down, fire/ice/lightening/barrier/all materias (useable at level ups)



classes: Sparring, Hand-to-Hand swordplay and other weaponry, Potion and Brews, Familiar handling, and spellcasting

Other: Her sword is inherited, and her most treasured possession. She will not part with it, and believes it represents her warrior’s honor, and her dreams.
Kumo has a familiar, a Chocobo called Pez. Pez's breed is a sure-footed chocobo, allowing him to swim in shallow water and climb almost any mountain.

Home: Dream Land

Appearance: Looks similar to her ancestors, Kirby and Jigglypuff. She is the same shade of pink as Kirby, and has enormous light blue eyes and a body shape more like Jigglypuff – though slightly more round.

Personality: Kiat is confident yet somewhat shy though she likes being around people. She can be somewhat rude to strangers if they pester her, but Kiat is mostly (=P) nice to people once she knows them. She also has a good sense of humor.

Abilities: list your abilities.

Level 0: Basic flying, sucking/eating, and absorbing abilities.

Level 1: Can pull a giant hammer out of nowhere and hit people/things with it.

Level 2: Sing - Puts opponents to sleep by singing.

Level 3: Disable - Temporarily prevent an opponent from using their abilities.

Level 4: Cute Charm - If attacked by a sentient enemy, Kiat can activate this ability, which may force feelings of remorse and attraction into the enemy and prevent them from attacking further.

Level 5: Can suck up an opponent and copy their abilities temporarily.

Level 6: Can transform into Sword Kiat, giving her high offensive power and a sword.

Level 7: Hyper Voice - Emits a loud soundwave that damages the target and sends nearby enemies off-balance.

Level 8: Double-Edge - Slams into the target with massive force, dealing heavy damage and causing Kiat to take some damage as well.

Level 9: Can transform into Plasma Kiat, allowing her to charge up Plasma energy and use it either as a shield or a projectile blast.

Level 10: Can summon Dragoon, the legendary flight machine (without the need to go and collect all three pieces). While riding Dragoon Kiat flies much faster than usual, and can slam into or slice through enemies for maximum damage.


Item(s): A ripped and slightly deformed teddy bear and a strange clay vase.

Classes: Sparring [Basic], Flight Training [Basic], Transformation [Basic], Public Relations [Basic] and Energy and Superpower Channeling [Basic].

Name: Bart Bishop

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Ancestor(s): Barry/Bart Allen (The Flash) and Elle Bishop (Heroes) (Not directly)

Home: He lived in New York city all of his life.

Alliance: Good, sort of, he can be an annoyance to the school at times.

Appearance: He has spiky, puffy, redish-blond hair. When he starts to run, sparks may bounce around the spikes. His eyes also appear to move when they don't, his secondary power isn't in full control yet, so sparks will wildly break out. Often is in blue clothes.

Personality: He is impulsive, and doesn't think much before attacking, or acting at all. He is a bit twitchy, do to the uncontrollable electricity flowing through him. He is a prankster, and likes to stir up trouble for fun, nothing major, but some think he is showing early villain behavior. When he isn't twitching, or pranking, he is actually a calm person, and before his powers came he was a focused person, but it gave him an extreme ADHD.

Abilities: Super Speed and Electrical Manipulation.
Level 0: He is faster than most people by a decent amount, and can weakly control his electric discharges.
Level 1: He gains minor control of his electrical powers, being able to control when they pop out.
Level 2: Speed gain
Level 3: Volt Tackle- He wills a field of electricity around him, and tackles his target at max speed.
Level 4:Magnify: He can magnify metal walls and such, making any other metal items go straight to it.
Level 5: His speed and lightning powers increase again.
Level 6: Ariel Drill- He uses lightning to fly into the air, then spins like a drill coming down, using the lightning as a point.
Level 7: Shape Manipulation- Gains the ability to morph his lightning various shapes and items, while not moving at top speeds to bend it.
Level 8: His final Speed-up, making him up to the speed of the other Flashes. He also is able to use his "Sight through Circuitry" ability to speak.
Level 9: He gets on final electric boost, gaining the ability to control it after it detaches from his body.
Level 10: Chidori- He covers his arms in intense lightning, and charges at his target, the blade of lightning can cut through stone, and weak metal. Can result in damage to the users arms, if pulled off badly.

Item(s): The original flash mask, which he holds onto for inspiration. Along with a necklace that belonged to his mother, Elle Bishop,which she gave him before leaving him at an orphanage..

Classes: Sparring and Fight Training, Speed Training, Energy and Super Power Channeling. Familiar Training.

Other: Um....Owns a Pet, it was a Lizard that can control Lightning. A Lightning Lizard, Named Bolt

Home: A city boy all the way. Lived in a luxurious penthouse with his mother until he was sent to the academy.

Alliance: Evil

Appearance: Dark brown hair and dark blue eyes. Pale, pretty boy. Tall and *almost* lanky. Likes dressing in entirely one color. (For example, an all-white ensemble or a dark blue one - everything from head to toe.) Hates running and is not very fast. Cannot lift heavy things.

Personality: Somewhat aloof. Believes himself better than others. Enjoys toying with people's feelings and playing mind games. Does not appreciate being interrupted or embarrassed. Is obsessive-compulsive and loathes getting dirty. Rearranges everything he can get his hands on.

Abilities: Illusionist and telekinetic abilities (His illusionist/lying abilities don't work with telepaths)
Level 0: People will believe anything he says, although they will realize the truth if presented with even the slightest evidence contrasting what he says. (Ex: A person they trust tells them otherwise, so the spell breaks.)
Level 1: Can move little objects with his mind (Pebbles, pens, pencils, watches, etc.)
Level 2: Can move medium sized objects with his mind (Books, telephones, paintings, backpacks, etc.)
Level 3: People will believe anything he says, although they will realize the truth if presented with concrete evidence contrasting what he says. (Ex: Seeing a signpost saying left when he said right.)
Level 4: Can confuse people for an hour, max, although certain words that mean a lot to the person might end the confusion episode earlier. (Confuse as in the other character will act drunk, see double, etc.)
Level 5: Can put a person in an illusionary world that doesn't really exist for one minute, but only with no lasting effects on the person. Can also deactivate the whole people-will-believe-anything-he-says thing at will now.
Level 6: Can put a person in an illusionary world that doesn't really exist for one minute, but only with minor lasting effects on the person (Dizziness, confusion, hysterics, etc. No physical damage)
Level 7: Can move big objects with his mind (Tables, pianos, steel cabinets, shelves)
Level 8: Can confuse people for an hour at least, trigger words won't work until after an hour has passed.
Level 9: People will believe anything he says, although they will realize the truth if and only if a lot of people tell them the truth AND present concrete evidence.
Level 10: Can put a person in an illusionary world that doesn't really exist for five minutes, but with physical effects on the person. Person can be pulled out before the five minute deadline by and only by a telepath.

Item(s): Needs to sleep on his pillow and his pillow alone. Owns a pet snake, which is really his familiar of sorts. If it gets hurt, he gets hurt. So he brings it around everywhere to make sure it doesn't get hurt.

Classes: Anti-Villainy Counselling, Care of Familiars, Public Relations

Other: Is completely and utterly useless against telepaths, save for the whole I-can-throw-stuff-at-you thing. He can resist their powers - to a point. If the telepath is of an equal or higher level than he is, he cannot deflect their powers. Is physically weak and gets sick easily, so he tends to avoid bad weather. Up for rivalry, love, friendship, whatever really. :D

- His whole you-will-believe-whatever-I-say thing cannot be turned off voluntarily until he hits level five, so he is careful with his words.

Ancestor(s): Black Canary, and Angel (from X-Men)

Home: New York City, with a kind step-mother and two smaller sisters.

Alliance: Good

Appearance: Long blond hair, with two, small, silver streaks down the sides. Light, sky blue eyes, always with a playful light in them. She is very thin, light, and tall due to her fast metabolism and thin hollow bones. Yet, she is also pretty muscular. Her wings are a light silver color that matches the streaks in her hair. She has a fourteen foot wing span.

Personality: She is usually very down to earth, and brings out the best in the people around her. But also the worst in her rivals. She has a fiery temper though, but usually masquerades it behind hard work. She is very ecstatic except in the middle of combat, when it is like seriousness is one of her super abilities. Very outgoing and friendly, but can be secretive and distrusting towards villain descendants or when she is just in a bad mood. Very Anti-Technology.

Abilities: Flight, sonic screams, and minor healing powers. Also, a little bit of super reflexes.
Level 0: She has wings, but they do not work yet (she can’t fly, but she can jump pretty far). She can break glass and certain objects with her voice. Her reflexes are a little higher than normal peoples.
Level 1: She can start to fly for a few seconds. Focus increases.
Level 2: Her scream becomes more concentrated. Flexibility increases.
Level 3: Her reflexes become much better than most. She becomes more tireless.
Level 4: Her scream is more concentrated, able to knock people down and blow them back about two feet.
Level 5: Her flight time increases a lot. She becomes more durable.
Level 6: Her reflexes are at peak performance. Her wings become stronger, as in they can break through most soft metals.
Level 7: Her screams pain factor increases noticeably.
Level 8: She starts to develop small amounts of healing powers. (exp: If she gets a big cut, it heals a lot faster than normal)
Level 9: Her flight is a peak power. Also she is at greatest flexibility and focus.
Level 10: Her scream becomes more powerful than Black Canaries. Can heal others too.

Item(s): A feather wing charm necklace from her real mother. She never lets anyone touch it unless she completely trusts them. If anyone touches it against her will, or even says they will, she beats them down hard. It is the last thing she has as remembrance of her real mother

Classes: Flight Training, Energy and Superpower Channeling, Public Relations, Martial Arts, and Sparring.

Other: Has extreme hate towards any villain descendants or villains, especially if the one in question is male. This is not explained at first but is shown later. Has rivalry against almost all male kind.

Another thing I forgot entirely. I'm meant to be approving profiles and assigning dorm rooms, lol. Eh, probably better to do so for multiple people in a single post anyway.
Since there are only about ten people confirmed so far (not all have posted their profile) I'll only use the A-block, which consists of 5 rooms. Also, I need to edit the intro post, since there are now 2 to a room instead of 3.

chibibo, you're approved. (Me: Hooray!) Zeke's dorm room is A4.

Nutty, approved. Kumo's dorm room: A5.

Arrish, approved. Kiat's dorm room: A2.

Bolty, approved. Bart's dorm room: A5.
(Ooo, roomies already! Though considering Kumo's and Bart's personalities, this could spell trouble... >=D)

Kara, approved. Nolan's dorm room: A2.
(More roomies! Could be interesting... :P)

Kineta, approved. Jaunie's dorm room: A3.

(I'm not sure if I mentioned it in the intro post, but I'm determining these rooms using a program I wrote in C++ that spits out a random room number.)

Appearance: Long brown hair, the top half flicks out whilst the bottom just fall in wavy locks down to the middle of her ribs. Dierdrie has deep choclate brown eyes that often change texture through the day. She stands tall, though not to tall, with a tan skin complexion. Also whenever she level's up, her eyes turn blue and progress to icy blue than icy white.

Personality: Dierdrie loves anything childish and fun, she is very adventurous and cannot stand sitting down. She is found usually jumping around and playing very bad pranks on people. She is intelligent though most people thinks she is ditzy and clumsy because of the way she acts.

Abilities: Generates freezing temperatures to create and manipulate ice. Can also transform his body into organic ice.

Level 0: Can change the tempertaure around her.

Level 1: When touches people can make them extremely cold.

Level 2: Can create small objects of ice.

Level 3: Can make her hands ice.

Level 4: Make small things aroudn her turn to ice.

Level 5: Can touch the floor and make lines of icicles (Though small)

Level 6: Blow on things and turn them to ice.

Level 7: Can make her whole hands ice, like swords.

Level 8: Freeze people/ objects with her touch.

Level 9: Icicles all over the place that are very pointy.

Level 10: Make her whole body go ice and everyhting around her.

Item(s): A golden compass with a small chain which she usually interludes in her clothing. It was a present from her mother that her father was suppose to give her on her thirteenth birthday. (Mother died giving birth to Dierdrie.)

Care of pet (A small squirrel, it's called, Filli) :D
