and for a minor worldbuilding question, since there's a bush monster on campus, does that mean monsters periodically spawn in school? Do these students have to subdue the monsters during the school day?

to answer your question: yep, monsters wander onto school grounds once in a while! they’re usually fairly low-level, though, and beating them is seen as extra training. the school’s security takes care of higher-level monsters so the students aren’t in too much danger. higher-level monsters may assemble forces and coordinate attacks on the academy once every few years, though.
