I'm going to post the planet information here just 'cause, y'know, info dumps can be a bit annoying. So I'll break it up for everyone.

This is quite an average sized planet, and resembles Earth (home of the human species) rather closely. The main chemicals in the air are oxygen and carbon dioxide, there is fresh water, and that is where the similarities with Earth end. There is a kind of toxic water that burns flesh, although most scale forms are immune to the toxin. The sky is a dull shade of silver, the clouds appearing to be a sort of reddish brown when they form. The forests have trees that can grow to the size of a three bedroom house, and the flowering plants are many and rather vibrant. There is one desert, with white sand that heats up very quickly, and is relatively dangerous to anyone not prepared for the heat or the shifting dunes. Water can be found in reservoirs underground, although they are rare and rather difficult to get to. A few mountain ranges back onto grassy plains, the tips of the mountains constantly covered in snow, the bases home to low shrubbery, many freezing run-off streams, and crevices that lead to total darkness. Overall it just looks like a very pretty planet, although the environments themselves do harbour many dangers.

The weather is very temperamental. Storms will hit at any time, and there is no way of telling if the rain will be fresh water or toxic. Most storms are labelled critical and call for return of crews or to find shelter immediately.

While the environments can be harsh, it’s the creatures that live there that really bring the life to the party. Scaled creatures with six legs, creatures with plated armour, with wings, with large fangs, with serrated talons. Creatures that spit venom, toxins, acidic substances. There are a few terror-reigning carnivorous creatures, mostly found in the mountains and forests, and will most likely attack a crew on sight. However, it’s the herbivorous creatures that need to be watched. Though placid for the most part, they are designed for self-defence. If startled, they will attack immediately before fleeing. Most encounters with these creatures result in sever injury, most likely death. Most of the discovered herbivorous creatures are learning that the crews mean no danger, but there is still a warning of caution around them. No attempt to begin domestication has been started.

Hmm, I'd be down to be the specialized soldier! By specialized do you mean, like, they just are good at one kind of combat or fighting style?

@soundofmind Specialised as in no one wants to call them savages or uncivilised so they use that word. They're aliens from planets where the need for survival kind of trumped the desire to do as we humans did a long time ago - start building on our cultures and all that jazz. There usually next to no technology on these worlds, at least none made by the natives races. Some alien races have tried colonising these planets but they don't usually get very far and just coexist with the native dominant races. But I mean, I guess they would also specialise in a specific combat/fighting style.

ALSO I'm SUPER PSYCHED to help come up with sci-fi ideas! I don't know if I'll be the most creative with it but I will try!! And once I start bouncing off ideas with somebody I really get going so!!!!! YES EXCITE

OH WAIT. Are you the specialized soldier already??? :0 Because if so, I was thinking I'd like to be on someone's crew/didn't want to repeat a role if other ones weren't filled yet so... in that case... could l be uhhhh the medic?

@soundofmind Oh man yes! IDEAS!! Oh I look forward to bouncing ideas with you then. I'm really new to sci-fi so ... yeeeeah hahaha.

And you can for sure be a spec soldier. I was thinking of taking on profession out of a crew to add a second spec soldier just because that dynamic would be interesting, and also I figured that profession would be quite popular. So if you want to keep the spec soldier, you totally can! (Mine is more of a scout than an actual solider but she's in the category because of the planet she's from). But if you also want to take a medic as well as or instead of, that is definitely cool!

(I can always make my charry an NPC or something, I want to give everyone else first pick, and I just come in with whatever as an add on to everyone else.)

Hmm, I think I'll go for the medic instead! I think having two spec soldiers would be cool but I...... . . .. . really like writing medics.

I like writing people patch up people. BUT YESSSS I'm so down to talk PLOT and deets. I already have some vague ideas, so you should totally hit me up when you're free and we could talk in the wfp or something! Also if you wanna send me a link to the discord that'd be awesome!

Hi there!! I would like join as well!! This piqued my interest and it seems pretty awesome. I've been away for a while now and i'd like to get back into the groove xD I'd like to snag the spot as the Planetarian if it is still available, but can she also have botanical and zoological (Don't know if I said that right xD) knowledge as well?

I have submitted a profile, but it is by no means finished. I just wanted to get something down before I go to class xD

@corvidconvalescence Medic has been claimed I'm sorry, but you can definitely have botanist. Welcome to the crew! Lemme know when your charry is done.

@AlmondEyes planetarian for your charry it is! She can have some knowledge in botany and zoology, but as they aren't her main fields and there is a botanist in the crew, she'd be focused more on her role. However she can offer help to the crew botanist and zoologist! I'll let you finish your character, and have a look once it's done.
