I'm gonna be the nitpick and point out that the Princess and the Prince have different last names. But, by the way, I love their names.

Stuff about elves. What I've got so far, any way. I'll likely get a few more ideas as the story goes on.

In The Mountains of the Vale

Image

This is what is visible of the Valan elf village. There is more underground.
There are caverns there, that lead into mines for useful metals, and useless but pretty stones and jewels. Those being their most prized exports. They also export leather and fur.

In The Yaskan Forest
Image

It's a pretty nice forest. Birds, trees, the whole shebang. Their main exports are textiles (fabrics) and wood. They also export leather and fur.

Relations with the rest of the world
Both the Valan and the Yaskan elves trade extensively with humans, but the Valan elves are otherwise withdrawn. Being a secluded mountain community, they feel more comfortable this way.

Whereas the Yaskan elves, being close to many other places, including Yaska city, are much more open and multicultural.

Social Climate

Elven society is a democracy led by an elected chief. They have meetings whenever there are big decisions to be made, and in these meetings all elven citizens have a say. Not everyone gets listened to, but they can speak all the same.

Elven philosophy on nature and life is cyclical. Nature feeds us, we die, we feed nature. But they probably have a fancier way of saying it.

There are no, and there have never been, elves with magical ability.
The Valan elves, believing themselves to be the norm, see magic as unnatural, and alien. Almost everything they hear about mages is bad, and that doesn't help.
Then when they go out into the world, those preconceived notions are reinforced rather than challenged.

Yaskan elves, however, are more open to differences in general, and that includes mages.

fun facts
Valan mountain elves typically have blond hair, and Yaskan forest elves typically have ginger hair.

They all have catlike eyes that can see in the dark.
This is why the Yaskar equivalent of the phrase 'never invade Russia in winter' is 'never ambush an elf in the dark.'

@HazelGrace16 I think @Sheyren means that the 'r' and 'h' in Ahr'Man are in the wrong order for your character.

@ScarlettFire Should I write up some things on Dragons along with what we discussed in chat? Just so that it is up for everyone to know?

Plot away between yourselves. See which characters will interact with each other or like/dislike each other. Of course, there's still a few profiles we're waiting on, but otherwise, have fun!

I have had a long talk with @ScarlettFire about Dragon kind for this world and I am going to put it out here. There are a few secrets about them that I will also be posting so you will just have to pretend you don't know them. XP

First a little History. Dragons have been around longer than even 'they' can remember. They ruled the skies, waters, and land for centuries until man began to hunt them. At first they were killed under the rumors that Dragon's hoarded Gold and treasures. (The Truth is that their treasure is knowledge and philosophy.) This quickly changed to being hunted down for their teeth for weapons, bones for decorations, and scales for armor.

A man by the name of Wulfgar, found that he could gain more profit by capturing dragons and using their individual talents to build arsenals of weapons, armor, and magics.

After many of their kind being killed or captured, the Dragons went into hiding, finding solitude in the mountains, deep forests, and the depths of the waters. They try to stay hidden at all costs least someone try to capture them, which is a fate worse than death for them.

There are several Types of Dragons that are classified by Colors:

Red Dragons: These are the largest that you will see. And adult stands around forty feet tall, seventy feet from tail to snout, and a hundred foot wing span. Their scales are different hues of Red and Orange. These are your typical fire breathing dragons. They have a bit of a temper normally but are able to keep control of themselves. When captured, their fire was used to forge Dragon Steel, some of the strongest metal available. All known weapons have fallen into legend or are passed down as heirlooms.

Green Dragons: Are a little smaller than a Red Dragon, for the most part their only differentiating trait is their Green scales, ranging from light to dark green. They're scales change color with the seasons for camouflage, going from green in the spring, to brown in the fall, and grey in the winter. These dragons are usually very grounded. They don't go off of what things might be, things simply are and assumptions and flights of fancy are a waste of time. Green dragons produce a mucus that becomes incredibly hard, this is what they were caught for, mainly for coating the outer hull of ships.

Gold Dragons: The same size as a Red Dragon but with more slender shape, the Gold Dragon color ranges from bright gold to yellow. Instead of a breath attack they have spines that they can fling from their wings and tail, strong enough to breach the side of a hull. They can regrow these spines quite quickly, usually within a few days. These spines are what were harvest from them, used to make arrow head (When small), spears, and ballista arrow tips. They are the more diplomatic of all the Dragon types. If a spokesman for the dragons were to be sent it, it is usually a Gold Dragon.

Black Dragons: The most aggressive of the all the dragons, and the quickest to be moved to attack what they don't like. Similar to Blood Mages, they thrive on destruction and decay. They look more snake than dragon with long, thin bodies that are used to crush their prey, and their mouths dripping with acid. They are always a dark black color but their scales are very small and fine allowing more movement and protection. These scales are what were harvested for armor when captured.

Purple Dragons: The intellectual dragon is what you get with a Purple Dragon. Those that have done more reading and studying than any other dragon. They are only slightly smaller than a Gold Dragon but they are not as physically imposing. Purple Dragons are able to breath lightning from their mouths and are by far the best flyers of any other dragon. They are the only Dragon that man would use as mounts in battle, often with Dragon Steel chokers and leads to keep them compliant.

Silver Dragons: A slender build with longer limbs for flight and fins that help with direction in flight. An adult Dragon stands about thirty feet tall, sixty feet long with a seventy-five foot wing span. Scales range from shiny silver to white. Normally know as the the Wise dragons, they tend to be very mellow and are often the peace maker in feuds. Silver Dragons, when captured, would have been used to create gem stones. Their magical ice, when given the right ingredients can be used to create precious gems.

Blue Dragons: Smaller and thinner than most other dragons, these Dragons are known for hiding in the water. An adult stands around twenty five feet tall, forty feet long, and a wing span of forty feet. Their scales range from light to dark blue. They are very calculating and precise with most everything they do. These dragons are known to collect water and shoot jets of it strong enough to tear flesh from bone, they also have a tendency to regenerate limbs that are lost. When caught, blue dragons are harvested for their strong bones. With their regeneration they can regain a lost leg in a few months.

All of these Dragons are subject to the rulings of The Council of Seven. They are the ruling body of the dragon world. Their word is law. An "Elder" of each Dragon type is placed on the council so that all manner of Dragons are represented. The Council of Seven are what make the major decisions that affect all dragons, such as the decision to go into hiding, and cast judgement on other Dragons that break their laws.

Dragons are known to live for thousands of years. A dragon is not considered an "adult" until he is 1600 years old. The oldest known Dragon lived to be 7000. Dragons are also only at their full power in their True form. In their human form, their magical power is cut in half.

Now for the Super Secret stuff:

1) Dragons do not openly let humanity know that all dragons have the ability to take a human form. In human form they could look really similar to how someone would picture a dragon or nothing at all. The only thing that does not change is the color of their eyes. They keep this secret in the worry that Humans finding out would start a Witch Hunt for Dragons.

2) A Dragon's Blood can be used to help prevent a Blood Mage from becoming insane. But as most Dragons, in human or true form, are very hard to injure, it is usually done by volunteering. With Dragons and mankind on such grounds as they are, it is very unlikely. This is another secret that Dragons keep to themselves for fear that they would be sought after once again.

3) Though most of the research was destroyed many centuries ago, there are remnants of research done by a mage to successfully tear a Dragon's soul from their body. The mage found that by collecting Dragon Souls he could increase his power more and more. As the story goes, it took a fleet of dragons to finally stop the mage. There are still pages of the research around but they have been lost and not fully completed, though there is still the possibility. Dragons are a a disadvantage with this particular spell. When a Dragon is in True form, they are vulnerable to having their soul ripped away even at full strength. If the Dragon is in human form, they have to be unable to fight back before the spell will work.

Well I need to get with @LordZeus About an idea. I figure that Torrin could cause a bit of a scene in the marketplace by defending himself against some thugs that don't like mages. I figured that the prince could either be in the marketplace when it happens or Torrin can be arrested and brought to the throne room to meet the Prince and Princess.
