09 - Just
Isaiah 61:8
“For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them.”

The wicked will perish
The murderers will burn
The idolaters will beg
The fruitless will wilt

Yet none of that is evil from
Our Lord, none out of a hatred
In His heart
But all out of love for His holy
Kingdom, all for the purpose to
Maintain the sanctification of the
Ones who love Him with their hearts

If a thorn sneaks in the garden
All will succumb and rot

10 - Good
Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.

I feel peace in heart
Knowing of Your true goodness;
A light for the poor

You wrote so many great poems, you're really going great! Nice work! ^^

11 - Eternal
Revelation 22:13
I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last,the Beginning and the End.

Time
Is ticking slow, yet too fast
Which building will be the next to crumble?
Which empire will be the next to collapse?
The earth is splitting, drifting, drowning…

We
Cannot conceptualize the beginning
We make theories, we spew debates,
Yet will they consider the end in the same way?
Who will be there to question then?

But
Our existence is a few seconds in space,
Brief breaths, a blink of life itself.
Our time began, and our time will end,
Yet He–everlasting, enduring–is the beginning
Of time, the end of time.

12 - Wise
Proverbs 2:6
For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth will come knowledge and understanding.

Without wisdom, I’d be a fool, a walking corpse
Immersed in the cruel misery taught by the world
So to the Lord, I ask day after day for
Enlightenment aligned with His instruction
to make me a living ray of light for others

13 - Sufficient
2 Corinthians 3:5
Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God.

I have habits of chasing
Being convinced something within me is missing
Something I must do anything to find it
Like a sailor who has floated too far from course
I am lost and panicked, searching endlessly
For something to complete the void in my heart
When the waves calmed, the sound of the water soothed me
And I realized there is no longer a hole that was once there
For His Spirit has taken place and made me whole
And because of that I can sit in my boat and hum a tune
Knowing that I have all that a person could ever need

14 - Merciful
Daniel 9:9
The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him

Who am I but a selfish child
Who cries and slanders, whose heart is defiled
Who realizes the wrongs committed
Who feels doomed to be forever wicked

But He is truly the essence of mercy
He takes my hand and holds it firmly
In every moment He shows me His love
When for my sin I truly deserve none

Who else would grant me any life
Who else could give up His own for mine
Who else paid for all my foul debt
Who makes it so I’m not haunted by regret

Despite my faults His goodness will rise
In moments of confession He’s at my side
Willfully giving me something of His
A mercy so beautiful for all His kingdom kids

15 - Savior
Colossians 1:13
For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves

The vulture lingers nearby
Waiting, waiting for me to lay to rest
To surrender my soul to something so dark
Inching closer to smell his next meal
I become tempted
To give myself to something other
Something made of death incarnate
The trees are thick, but the moon’s light
Flickered through the branches, I saw
Like a thief, the light surrounding me
Bringing me near to One so beautiful
For I was not made to stay here forever
The darkness will not take my heart away
He took me, and made me His to reside
In an eternity filled with nothing but light
Nothing but safety from the darkness
From the vultures who feast on fear
And dance on the hearts of the dead

16 - The Truth
John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”

I thought I knew
standing smirked-faced and
crossed-armed thinking I knew
the truths of this world, truths
disguised as lies spoon-fed to me
and others and we believe until

we learn the real truth

of He who reigns supreme
who was the perfect man on earth,
who taught wisdom rooted in the Father
above who never betrayed us, who
created all there is to see and know, so
who was I to ever say I knew a thing before

17 - Light
1 John 1:5
This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all

my heart was draped with the cloth of shame
extending to my soul, my mind, my eyes
blindfolding me to the truth, seeing all life
from a lens of dullness, for I lost my sense of reality

the faintest of spark illuminated my entire world
seeing hues of periwinkle, shimmers of gold
now I am able to see the shadows and how they crawl
their way onto any surface and latching on, consuming

in my hands I wield the power of the lamp
granted to me by the strength of His word,
the reign of His holiness, so brilliant and clear
given to ward off this evil of fragile darkness

18 - Steadfast
2 Thessalonians 3:5
May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

It is a gift that our hearts can change
To be entirely transformed
By the One who can never waver

19 - Strength
Psalm 37:39
The salvation of the righteous come from the Lord; He is their stronghold in time of trouble

My weaknesses bare fangs
Too sharp for my skin–I bleed
And my knees wobble before
They buckle and I drop to my fate.

When I am weary, when I fail,
My arms reach out–
But who will come? I ask myself

Something shakes my soul
Something, a power, a force,
Supernatural yet very real
The Almighty finds me,
I too weak to go to Him,
And He urges me to get up,
To stand, to walk, to run, to live
And like a miracle
I could. I did.

My weaknesses bare fangs,
But now I brace for the pain
Knowing Who the provider is
For all of my strength.

20 - A Rock
Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is He.

The waves they toil and crash
A slamming current on a steadfast Rock
It does not move from the dangerous thrash
It remains strong in the midst of the aftershock
The winds can blow but what will it do
The fires won’t dare to come near
In flames of white, or amber, or royal blue
This Rock’s strength is abundant to bare
For nothing on earth can disturb it’s form
The heavens kneel at His very wake
His order can start or calm the highest storms
He formed the moon’s craters and the first daybreak
And of all the diamonds found or made by men
He is the Rock much mightier than them
