From energy of buzzing bees
collected at our leisure
oozing fusion with crispy toast
for our occasional pleasure.

Spoiler! :

Playing with that zh sound, but it's too late to really do it justice.

I said
I wanted to watch more films this year
I meant
I wanted to spend time in cinemas

red velvet seats, or black faux leather ones
overloading on watery cola
in condensation-dripping paper cups
ferrying popcorn from lap to mouth
and getting the kernels stuck in my teeth

I got
Netflix and DVDs on my own dusty sofa
but I think
that's still pretty good

Friends
are still friends
at a distance.

And now, alas, the end draws near
See you all again next year!

Too often we crave the extraordinary in life, without even learning how to cherish the ordinary first. Friend, I promise you this: if you can learn to take joy in the simple mundane things in life, the extraordinary will take care of itself, it'll be on its way, hurrying towards you. But if you skip the first part, it'll ever evade you.
