Eric would be lying to himself if he said he wasn't a little...well...taken aback by what Melody had just happened. He just stood there standing like a jerk, watching her walk off. A part of him was a little fed up with the way she was acting. Another part of him, a part he didn't really know existed before, actually felt bad for getting her so upset.
He knew everything Melody had said about him was true. His intention was just to use her until he got bored, just like he'd done with all the other girls he'd been with in the past. It was the oldest trick in the book and he'd used it because it always worked...until now.

For some reason hearing that from her moved something inside Eric. He didn't know exactly what that was, but it scared him all the same. What do I do now? Try a different approach, give up? Hell no, I never give up an' more importantly I never get so damn emotional over some chick... Then again Melody wasn't just 'some' chick...
Women...can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em...! Eric shook his head slightly and headed for his own locker to grab his gym bag before heading over to football practise. He had to focus. Friday's game against Midsummer High was only four days away. He had a team he needed to lead and a scholarship he needed win. He wasn't about to let a girl get in the way of all that. Even if that girl fascinated him beyond words...
