Thane frowned, feeling more and more uneasy as she watched him wiggle around in the dark, but she stayed silent. She’d just make sure she was several feet away from whatever he was about to do.

Railyn closed his eyes and focused his mind within. He sought his mental trigger and upon thinking about it and concentrating on it, he flared up his aura. Maroon and dark orange energy pulsed around him.

Thane took a few steps back, making sure she was to the side of him instead of in front, where he would supposedly draw the sigil.

Railyn focused his aura to his fingertips, like he did with primal sense, and widened his stance. "Okay, so.." he careened his head to look at the booklet. "A push sigil. Simple enough, right?"

“Should be,” Thane said.

Railyn glanced at the booklet again, just making sure that he had the measurements correctly. He didn't think of anything specific. He had to keep his mind blank in order for this to work. He started the first shape. A circle to keep the sigil inside.

“Be careful,” Thane said. She wasn’t sure it NEEDED to be said, but it couldn’t hurt.

Railyn flashed Thane a smile. He was about to say that he was always careful, but the first arc of the circled faltered and sparked a bit, and he focused his attention back on the sigil.

Thane’s eyes narrowed in concentration, watching in case she needed to try to intervene somehow.

Railyn completed the circle, and intricate blue symbols etched themselves around the inside of it. His fingers wavered where he completed the circle. Okay, now just a few more lines. He started the first line slow. It was at the top, going to the middle left. As he drew, faint images flashed in his mind, ones similar to how he felt when he first started using primal sense. Arcane concepts, far out of his reach, but tempting nonetheless.

The first line sparked out iridescent lines that arced and twisted into symbols that Railyn sincerely hoped were a part of the sigil.

Thane squinted down at the paper in the dark, feeling increasing uneasiness. Maybe they should’ve had someone who actually knew this here to make sure they were doing this correctly.

After the first line interested into the circle, the next two were far easier, and seemed to flow without Railyn guiding them, like they were guiding him instead. At the end of it, the sigil looked like a triangle, but like a toddler made it as the lines went past and through each other to reach the circle.

As Railyn finished the final line, the sigils and carvings spread to fill the triangle. He looked up at Thane, unable to keep a smile from infecting his face.

Instead of returning the smile though, Thank was frowning down at the paper. “Umm… are you sure that’s the right—“

Railyn couldn't hear what Thane said but smiled at it. "This is awesome--"

The sigil imploded in on itself, and all air and sound whooshed inwards with it. Railyn's aura went out like a flickering flame and it was complete black. Railyn couldn't see the dim lights on the sidewalk or the library or anything, and he didn't know what way was up.

Then the sigil exploded, increasing in size to warp around them, and it was no longer a circle, but a bubble of energy. Railyn could see again, and he saw Thane was in the same predicament as he.

“What did you do?” Thane shouted, but she could barely hear her own voice.
