“Also very nice.” Ky nodded. “Do you have a favorite song?”

She chuckled. "Oh, I'm not really sure. I enjoy music but I don't think about it too hard."

Ky nodded. “Yes ma’am. That’s fair.” She offered a little smile.

“Vethandri,” Ky said with a little smile. “It’s popular in my region. Has a fun dance that goes along with it.”

"A dance?" she grinned, interest piqued. "Do tell; I love dancing."

“It’s very lively.” Ky grinned, delighted she’d found a common interest. “Almost all of the ones back home are. My friend’s pap-father always said that if you weren’t out of breath by the end of the song, then you didn’t do it right.”

She nodded. "I tend to agree! Not many like that up here, I'm afraid. I'd love to learn Vethrandi at some point."

(Oops slipped my mind tbh. I’ll be on mobile the next several hours but I’ll sneak one in before bed if I remember)
“Oh, I’m, uh…” She hadn’t expect that. She needed to tread gently now. She thought for a moment so she would choose her words carefully. “I’m… not sure how… appropriate? It is? But, um… I mean… um… I’d be happy to teach it if you’re, ah… sure?”

"Most definitely sure, if you're up for it. Believe me, I've done some randy dances in my time. You can't offend me!"

“Yes ma’am.” Ky smiled gently, face a little warm. If they were going to do this then she was most definitely going to describe each move before she showed her how they all went together. No point in doing that now. But no chance was she wrapping her arm around a noble’s lower back or tossing her air or snapping her around or any of the other moves without explicit consent. She wasn’t interested with a date with a chopping block to teach her hands propriety. Being threatened with that once was more than enough to last her a lifetime. “Then I’d be happy to… it’s been a while… but I expect I’ll be able to remember it if I try.”

"Maybe Arianna and I can get lessons from you tomorrow," she suggested. "It's been so long since we've learned a new dance."

“That would be nice.” Ky smiled. That’d be stressful is what that would be. Not one noble to offend but two. And what if Lord Loquitur or Lady Sara wanted lessons as well? She… god. It’d be no small miracle if she made it to bed tomorrow unmaimed. “…do you know if… we’ll have music? It… helps.”

"I'm sure we can find some minstrels around here," she assured her. "I'll ask around."

“Yes ma’am.” Ky nodded, smiling. “Then we’re all set.”
Well. They would be once she remembered. It was too bad she couldn’t actually have time with Tadaaki without being watched. He would very grudgingly concede to learning the dance so that she could have practice remembering it and teaching it. But that would be humiliating in front of an audience. No, this was going to be a by-herself-at-bedtime sort of deal.
