"Wonderful!" She clapped her hands. "Thank you, Ky; that certainly brightens up my day. I have something to anticipate, now."

“I’m glad to hear that.” Ky smiled kindly. “Happy to help however I can.”

Constance finished off her tea. "I should probably go find Arianna now, really...but it was absolutely wonderful to talk to you, Ky! Thanks for keeping me company."

“You as well!” Ky smiled and popped to her feet. “Thank you.”

Constance dipped her head and stepped toward the door.

Ky neatly set her cup on the tray and considered picking it up, then realized she didn’t know what the right social move here was. Lady Constance probably didn’t want to walk back to the kitchen, right? So.. leave it? So… she hesitantly stepped after her awkwardly.

She dipped her head. "Well, I'm off. Take care; I'll see you at the next meal!"

“Um!” She stepped towards her urgently. “I-um-ma’am? I-um-could you-I… am not supposed to be on my own, ma’am. Could you please um…”

"Oh, right!" Constance snapped her fingers. "I forgot. Here; want me to get you back to Emery?"

“Yes please.” Ky blushed a little and ducked her head, grateful that she’d relented so easily. “Thank you, ma’am.”

"Not at all." She started in the direction of the library.

Ky took a deep breath and followed, willing her heart to stop racing. This was a disproportionate amount of panic. She needed to stop being so dramatic. But she still followed closely.

Constance walked alongside her as she headed up the stairs. "That tea was great, wasn't it?" She grinned.
