Remy wasn't expecting this. He was expecting violence, but this guy was so.. nice. Too nice to actually be nice. Remy figured this was some sort of plot to gain his trust so he let his guard down so he could be killed.
“Of course!! Eat up, okay? And when you’re done, you should probably get some rest. It’s pretty late, after all!”
Emile beamed, blissfully unaware that Remy didn’t quite trust him yet. He had no idea how long he’d be staying for, but he wanted to help him as much as possible.

Remy didn't plan on eating anything he was given by an alien, in case it was poisoned or just couldn't be eaten by humans. He almost felt bad for not trusting Emile, but he told himself that he shouldn't feel bad because that was how they wanted him to feel
“You could probably sleep down here tonight, but lemme know if you wanna sleep somewhere else! I’ll be in my room, it’ll be the first room to your left once you come upstairs! Good night, Remy!”
With that, Emile went off to his room.

Remy figured that maybe if he was going to be killed, he would already be dead. He was kinda tired, so he decided to sleep now, escape later. So he tried to sleep.
The next morning, Emile awoke with a start. Was that a dream? Had that really happened last night? Naturally, he got out of bed, went downstairs, and smiled upon seeing Remy there. It wasn’t a dream!!

Remy was asleep, and had been asleep for a few hours. He started to wake up, thinking maybe he dreamed the whole thing and he would still be living on that spaceship. He looked over and saw Emile. It was not a dream.
