“But don’t you have other people to help..?”

"There's a lot of others like me to help other people"

“…Well, then… I think the monster’s gone.”

Emile smiled, gently squeezing Remy’s hand.

"Yeah, he is. I'm proud of you"

Remy could have left, but he just really didn't want to, especially since it wasn't necessary.

“Aww, really? Thank you! I’m flattered, heh…”

Emile blushed and giggled.

Well, Remy was in love now-

"There's something we need to talk about though"

Oh, so was Emile. Although, he had fallen for Remy a little while ago.

“Huh? What is it?”

"Well, that monster didn't just appear out of nowhere. Its most likely some representation of an issue you're dealing with while you're awake. So what happened?"

“…”

Emile sighed.

“…it all started a couple months ago. My house… it caught on fire… and my mom, she… she’s gone… th-that’s why that monster was always on fire, and I’d always hear her screaming…”

His eyes began to swell up with tears.

"Oh.. I'm sorry for your loss..."

Remy hugged Emile, holding him close.

Emile hugged back tightly.

“I-It’s okay… she wasn’t the nicest, b-but… she was still my mom…”

"I get it.. but the monster being gone because you did it by yourself, is you kinda subconsciously getting over her death. I'm not saying you have to be over it, but you're doing better."

“…That makes sense… but… I couldn’t have done it without you. Having you help me really helped.”

"Well, that's my job. I get to meet people like you and swing around a cool sword. It's pretty fun"

Emile chuckled softly.

“It sounds fun… maybe I could join you?”
