"I'm not an adult," he protested. "Because Riku's not one! He was only a teenager when I was created, so I'm kind of one, too! But I've only been around for a year, so I think I'm only one and not his age."

Amy's confusion only multiplied upon itself as she took a step back. "I-I don't understand? You were... created?"

He gave a big nod.

"Riku fell into darkness, and almost lost his heart," he explained. "So then I was created! I'm like him, but I don't have a heart. Since he's my heart, I want to find him someday!"

Amy stared at Riku, blank-faced, before shaking her head. "Whaaaaaat????" she spun around towards the bed, falling onto it with her hands on her head. "I don't understand, I don't understaaaaand," she whined.

"It was confusing for me too," Kirux reassured her, leaning over her. After a moment passed, he gave her a comforting pat on the shoulder.

Kirux crossed his arms, a thinking expression appearing on his face as he tried to come up with an explanation that she would understand. He thought he had already done a good job explaining it, but he guessed he'd have to explain it again!

"People's hearts can fall into darkness," he signed. "When they do, their hearts become Heartless and their bodies become Nobodies. Nobodies are missing their hearts, but they almost always have their memories. I'm special because Riku's still alive - I don't have any of his memories! But I was created like all of the other Nobodies. Riku fell into darkness, so I was created."

He thought for a moment.

"...Winnie says I'm a fast learner. I think that's a Nobody thing, too."

Amy let out a small whine as Kirux continued to explain. "I'm a slow learner," she said with a pout, flipping over and sitting up to look at Kirux. "But I guess that sort of makes sense."

"That's okay!" he reassured her. "It's just a good thing I'm a fast learner because I can sign! Riku can't - Winnie and Mom had to teach me how. And when I met Lea and Isa and they told me all about Nobodies and Heartless and Dusks, I was able to remember everything they told me."

Amy sighed, rubbing her temples with her forefingers. "A really fast learner," she repeated. "I dunno anyone who's learned how to read after only bein' a year old. That's impressive."

Kirux, who had been rapidly signing for the past few minutes, went incredibly still. A blush quickly spread across his cheeks - the compliment made him feel really good. His gaze dropped down to the ground as his cheeks stayed red.

"Thank you," he signed.

Amy looked up at Kirux in time to catch his blush and his signing. She smiled, finding her face grow warm too. She laughed lightly.

"Um, you're welcome."

He blushed even harder when he heard her laughter, but he did finally look back up at her. It was when he moved his hand to sign something - he wasn't sure what - that he felt his stomach growl.

He put a hand over his tummy.

Then he looked at her, trying to figure out if she was hungry, too - but it was hard, since most people didn't show it like he did.

Amy cocked her head to the side, watching his hand go to his stomach.

"Food?" she asked. "You want food? You hungry?"

He gave a big nod.

Then he pointed in the direction of the kitchen.

Amy nodded along with him, smiling. "Yes! Food, food, food," she chanted, heading in the direction he pointed.
