From now on, it will cost 150 100 points to post a new literary work on YWS. As you can earn up to 50 points per review and since you earn 50 points by posting a literary work, this amounts to a 2:1 review to work ratio. This is something YWS had in place for many years, and it helped to ensure that everyone helps out with reviewing.

Also, you will now notice a 'Review Checklist' whenever you go to make a review. It's just there as a helpful reminder since we can all use reminders sometimes.

Lastly, some of the older members will remember that the last time we had a pay to post system, points were reset every two weeks. That is not something we are going to do again. If you've earned thousands of points, then you can keep those points.

Sounds good - I like that the 2:1 ratio is back in use; I sort of missed it. And the Review Checklist seems pretty cool, though I haven't a chance to use it yet.

Cool - and to think I say I don't like change. I take it back. xD.

On that same subject, would it be possible to bring back the cost to make a new Storybook? I remember it used to be active, and right now with the flooding of new storybooks it might be a good idea to slow the flow, a bit. And if not slow it make story bookers, like me, be forced to review to use our ideas lol.

Hmm. I agree with Bolt - having to pay to post a new Storybook could actually improve the quality of existing storybooks because storybookers would commit more time to individual SBs, and they'd also have to review more, which means more reviews for everyone and no "sad monkey."

Seems like a logical idea.

It was 500 points per storybook, right?

I'm not opposed to it, and it'd only take five minutes to make the change. What do others think?

Yes. The amount of storybooks that are created and never start is ridiculous.

I thought we were getting 100 points per review? It still means you have to write two reviews, but, yeah.

I like the changes. :)

Updated the original post; turns out you don't earn points anymore when posting a new work (something I forgot). So instead of 150 points, it's 100 points.

Yes!

It will also get the storybookers out and reviewing. :P

And, it's now a 1:1 ratio. Which isn't half bad. But, it's only 1:1 if you write 100 point reviews, hehe.

I like the pay-to-post Storybook idea. I too think that the number of new ones getting started, then not starting, or just dying out is too high...and then I know it's technically not spam...but it gets to the point where it looks like spam. O.o

And love the pay-to-post your work. Gets everyone more involved. :D

I haven't yet took a peek at the review checklist, but I'm about to.

Alright, I could have sworn it got increased awhile back. But fifty's still plenty. :) Sorry about that...
