I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
Douglas Adams

As you may know, the new YWS will miss the deadline of February 28. However, not to fret! It still is being worked on and part of the reason it's missing the deadline is because I'm being extremely ambitious. After all, I don't want to meet the deadline but release a subpar product. I rather take the time necessary to perfect it, and I'm sure most would agree.

So when can you expect the new YWS? Work for me revs up in March, then wounds down in April. However, school, which should be slow for me in March, revs up in April with final exams the last week of April & first week of May.

This means you shouldn't expect anything during March. However, the chances of seeing something slowly increase in April before going to zilch again in the last week of April. After the first week of May, the chances of seeing something slowly increase once again. By June, those chances dramatically shoot up. In all, the chances of the new YWS being released before July is 90%. By month, I would say there's a probability of 10% of seeing it in April, 30% of seeing it in May, and 50% of seeing it in June.

When the new YWS is ready, the rollout will be done over a period of three weeks. During the first week, JMs, Instructors, and Greeters will be invited to check it out (in that order). During the second week, everyone will be invited to check it out. These two weeks are meant to just give people a chance to get used to it. The third week will be the blackout period, during which the database is transferred from the old YWS to the new YWS. During the blackout period, the backup YWS will be open.

So hopefully that gives you a better idea of what's going on!

Yeah, I think so. It also seems like the transfer process itself will be a lot of work. Temporary YWS and everything. Don't kill yourself Nate, take it nice and slow. I have every reason to believe you'll pull this off.

Wait, I must prepare my self. Where's my suitcase, toothbrush, notebook...Where Are My Pants!
I will always fight back, no matter what.

Cool.

Any chance for a radio show sometime before then? It's been a while. And! There's the chance of hearing Kitty, Jack and I all at once! Surely worth a radio event in itself =P

Will Nate have an email sent to the Mods, Jr. Mods, Instructors, and Greeters when it's their turn to check out the new yewis?

'Yewis'. Emma, you're killing me here. *makes strangled choking noise*

Awesome, Nate. I hope I speak for every YWS member when I say that we understand the delays and are very thankful for all of the work you've put into this wonderful site. I'm looking forward to the upgrade!

^_^ Awesome.

I can't wait!

Thanks, though, Nate. Take your time, we all know you must have a life outside of YWS....somewhere. ^_^

Sounds great!

But, Nate, now you may not know me and I don't know you well (yet- I've only been on the site for... well since Feb. 16th. Haha.) but you've made an awesome website, and you seem like a cool guy- don't kill yourself doing this! Haha. Just having a moment to sound like a nagger. So I'm done with that. Bye now!
