Since a number of people thought the downtime was related to the upgrade, I should probably go over what's happening with it (in fact, I should've weeks ago).
First of all, the upgrade is still taking place, but the date has changed from a deadline of February 28 to a deadline of "To Be Determined." I really wish I could be more specific than that, but I can't. Working on Capitol Hill and going to law school is kind of kicking me right now, and it won't let up until April. I really hope to begin the upgrade before April, and it'd only take me another two weeks of three hours a day to finish it up, but I can't promise anything.
Secondly, as I've said in the past, you're not going to be surprised with the upgrade. Again, as I've said, the roll-out will be slow. And again, as I've said, everyone will have a chance to try out the new YWS before we actually switch to it.
And, as I've said, after everyone has had a chance to try out the new YWS, both the old and the new will be shut down for a week as I switch everything over.
I'm sorry to say "As I've said" over and over, but all people remember was the "YWS will be down for one week" part without bothering to remember the rest. Plus, as in the past, I will give you plenty of heads up before YWS has scheduled downtime. Trust me, you'll have at least a week if not two weeks to prepare for YWS being down.
