From now on, in order for a message to be counted as a review, it must be 250 characters long. Since the average word is 5 characters long, that'd mean about 50 words. However, since spaces, commas, periods, and everything else is counted too, it really only means about 40 words.

For most people, this won't be a big deal. For others, it means "This was great!" is no longer counted as a review.

Also, as a quick note, review spamming is not tolerated. People who do this have their review counts reset to zero.

This only counts for reviews. This does not count for posts or points, which function the same as always.

YES! Thank you so much, Nate! :D

But what about in the Advanced Critiques? I typically just say 'here you go,' and then attach the file I made my real comments on. (Actually, I do this for XxxDo in the main forums, too.) Will that no longer count? Should I just ramble about some of my overall comments in the review, and then attach the file with the rest of it?

And what's review spamming? I doubt I do it, but I'm curious. (And if it turns out I do, I don't want my critiques to go to 0 when I just reached 200!)

Review spamming is constantly posting reviews of no more than a line or two to raise your review count.

As to posting in the advanced forums, the guide to that suggests that the attachment should be given along with a summary of your view. Forty words is not long. I'm sure you could manage it.

The art forum troubles me more but again, forty words is not many and I think reviewers will still post a few short ones there because they're such lovely, helpful people and sometimes a short review in the art forum can be tremendous help and takes little time.

Sounds good, kitty; thanks. I usually put my overall opinion in the file attachment, but I can just put it in the regular post instead. No biggie.

*dances* This'll be a huge improvement but some people might be discouraged because of the 'large number'. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

But what about in the Advanced Critiques?

Actually, since I last roamed the AC area, we don't in receive review counts for posting there? I don't know though, it may have been fixed since!

Yes, in the art forum there are a lot of short reviews--I do it, too. Mostly because I never know what to say, and I'm terrible at art so it makes my critiques incredebly useless. I think this will push people to look harder, and think of something more constructive to say.
