We could, but I'm worried it wouldn't work out very well. One of the things I'm trying to do is make things simpler on YWS; introducing a system on top of the system we have would just increase the complexity.

I voted--I think badges are the way to go.

In response to what Incognito said, would the 1001 badge be automatic?

Yep, that's the one badge that'd be automatic.

My only concern is that badges could be an eyesore. But I have an idea! You could have a little treasure trovish type box on the side of your posts where your info is. When you mouse over it, you could see all that person's badges!

I also am quite fond of what Kyllorac suggested in the other thread about the additional color in place of purple and blue for people to go to if they have questions. Excuse my run-on sentence.

Just my comments. ;)

Sare, we have the first one right now.

Where would the badges be displayed? I'm afraid it would look crowded.

Hi!

Haha, we already have the purple and blue colors. We've had them for a few years now. :) The voting is currently regarding whether we should keep the old system or switch to the different one.

I'm not sure on which to vote yet, so I'll come back later to do it. Also, I have a question.

This got me confused xD Weren't Greeter and Instructors automatically have the greeting badge and the reviewer I badge?

Instructors and Greeters will, but all others will need to be nominated. Purps and Blues have already been nominated/given the award, and because this isn't the annihilation of a system, but rather the transfer of it, the award will likewise be transferred. All others will go through the nomination process for the badges, so it's not completely automatic.

once you get 1001 posts, though, it's like getting a new star. The system automatically does it for you, no nomination process needed.
