Made a whole slew of changes this past week, so figured I should make a thread about them all. Also, still working on a major new feature that I think people are really going to like. Hopefully, it'll be done soon but it has to do with novels (hence my Teddy Ruxpin series).

The YWS Map
On the Who's Online page now, you'll see a map of where all current YWS users are:

The map displays where everyone is currently accessing YWS from. Whenever you see flashes, that just means those people are accessing a new page. I think it's kinda cool and show go a long way toward showing just how big YWS really is.

Statistics
On the front page, you can now not only see how many people are currently online, but also how many have posted and reviewed in the past 24 hours. YWS regularly gets 400 registered members logging in everyday, but of course, not nearly everyone posts something everyday!

I'm hoping it'll encourage more reviewing as well. One of the reasons the Obama campaign raised so much money in 2008 was because they stressed the number of donors rather than the amount raised. This causes a psychological effect where everyone else wants to be a part of the crowd. So, maybe showing how many people have reviewed today will lead to more reviewing!

Other Stuff
Did some other less exciting stuff as well. Nothing really big.

I just checked the map. Hehe, I'm not even on there. However, Prince George BC was. Lovely town xD

That's pretty neat Nate! Can't wait for more new things to pop up.

Haha, you may live too far north! The map gets the geographic data from your IP address, and IP addresses can be very wrong. For instance, I'm sometimes listed as living in Massachusetts even though that's over 400 miles away. If you're living in a small town, it's very likely to miss your real location by a lot.

Can other people see the users online IP addresses too? I can, but I have no idea whether this is because I'm a mod or not.

This is so cool. Although the map lies about me. But it's okay!

It's a third party product hosted on a remote server that I have no way of changing, as I've said previously. Yes it changed, but I had nothing to do with it.
